So I'm originally from Akron, but I am visiting family here because I know reside in Houston found this place listed on yelp with good reviews. The beer was definitely good I have I think it was called the grandfathers ale. I have no idea who my server was because she never introduced herself, we got seated pretty quickly. The place was really full. I know that the menu has good things on it and it was very bland for me of course being that I'm in Houston all the time now I just have I guess different taste buds made perhaps I don't know but the chicken tenders for my niece they were Just greasy and gross that she took all of the batter off of them and then she didn't even finish it. She said she didn't like the taste I understand what beer batter is and so does she but it was just really overly greasy portion was good, but as I said, the poutine was, OK I drink at this place all day long. Maybe try something different on the menu but I wasn't very impressed. I'm gonna give it another try because they had other things on the menus that I probably would enjoy but with those things that I picked I didn't have a good Experience with it and I'm totally a foodie, so yeah I'm gonna give it another. The food was excellent. We got a burger and wings, the burger was so juicy and delicious. The wings were big and juicy. Our waiter Elijah was really good and helped with suggestions. We had freshly baked potatoes chips, it was a very big serving of them. We will definitely come back! read more

Love this place. It never disappoints. The service is great, yummy drinks with a wide variety of beer. Their menu is constantly changing with the seasons and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Last night I had the brisket sandwich, it was super flavorful. We stayed in Akron after the Nine Inch Nails concert Sept 24th and based on the YELP reviews and the website menu we decided to try Lock 15. One of the best choices I have made in my life recently! Even though it was cool we sat outside and enjoyed the lovely landscape. Our waitress was a gem - she had lots of knowledge about the menu items as well as the ingredients. She was also attentive without hovering! Now let's talk about this food. I wanted to have more friends with us so we could each order something different and try more! Everything was exceptional! If you go with a twist on an old favorite or if you take a step outside your comfort food box you will be thrilled! We visited during the transition between brunch and lunch. The restaurant was not overly crowded but there were only two servers and we waited a long time for menus. The food was adequate but not wonderful. The dishes were creative but they didn't always work IMHO. Maybe I just didn't get the vibe. read more

We were excited to visit this brewery on our way to visit family based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the eggs were bland and flavorless- with some of the egg shell still on the egg. Very good gluten free bun and black and blu burger. I was super impressed. The pepper bacon was a bit much so I took it off. I got the polenta cake as a side. This was super tasty. It was a small quaint little place showing basketball on the TV. I tried the seltzer they had and it was decent. Not my favorite but pretty good considering it was a seltzer. Korean BBQ smoked wings are super crispy and the flavor is excellent. Comes with an herby Gorgonzola sauce that's delicious. Partner got the brisket sandwich - tender meat and doesn't rely on bbq sauce for flavor. I got the pho - while not traditional, the broth is super flavorful. The meats are tasty and the pickled veggies that accompany the dish add a nice acidic counterpoint. Toddler had the mac and cheese and it was actually a really good cheese sauce! Beers were great. We stopped here for lunch on a Friday late afternoon. We got seated right away and found what we wanted to eat. I ordered the Turkey Pastrami (which was basically a Rueben), it had Cleveland sauerkraut on it with homemade 1000 island dressing. Very good and I also had the cauliflower side dish. My husband had the fish n chips. Very good, light breading and I dipped in their homemade ranch dressing!! Our waiter was very quick and good!! We walked the trail and finished up at Lock 15. They have a beautiful building, and the service was fairly decent. It seemed we were seated in the bar first, then outside, so we probably threw off the waitresses counts or something. We ordered drinks and a light lunch, but it turned out to be an extremely filling lunch - caution: huge portions! - The food was wonderful. I enjoyed every moment of the french dip (just called "The Dip"). Wow - whoever's in the back sure knows how to work flavors into a meal! Such a delicious place and a great home brewed beer! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive and gave great advice on what food to get. They have a really good menu for GF people if you need it. Definitely check this spot out! I came here with a group of friends and it's got a great vibe to it. I don't drink alcohol but it seems like they have a solid variety of beverages. I had the fish and chips and it was pretty good. I chose the extra crispy option but it still wasn't quite as crispy as I would've liked. I'd say it tasted a little less better than it looked. The fries were solid and the English peas were a pleasant addition. Some of my friends ordered the Veggie Burger and Nashville Hot. Both were solid and we agreed that the Nashville Hot was the best item of the three. Definitely is better quality than typical bar food, and I'd highly recommend giving it a shot. I will definitely visit again in the summer when their outdoor area is open. read more

We stopped in on our way to an Akron Rubberducks game. This is a brewery with a hipster vibe. The restaurant itself is set up with outdoor seating also. It was a humid evening, so we opted to sit inside. I recommend reservations because we didn't have any but were told they could seat us if we were done eating by 7:00. We said we could do that. Our party ordered cajun chicken wings, shrimp ceviche, and 2 filet medallions. Everything was really good. Our only complaint would be that they serve the ceviche without any chips. We had to add on the won ton chips for extra. That was strange to us because we would never eat ceviche with a fork. Service was not bad but not super fast. We still managed to get out by 7:00. Stopped in on my way from Canton to Cleveland Hopkins Airport. I was initially delighted when I walked up and saw the relatively expansive outdoor seating area. Lock 15 gets bonus points for this during Covid. There were more patrons in the outdoor area than there were indoors, and for good reason. Not only were we still mid-pandemic but the weather was amazing. The service was great. My server was very friendly and, though they were out of an item that was on their beer list, he was quick to recommend one that was not on the list (it ended up being my favorite of the beers I had in my flight). The beer flight was the star of the show, for me. I typically stick to amber ales and lagers but there weren't any on the list, so I got adventurous. I liked some more than others but, on balance, they were all refreshing, crisp, and not flat at all. I'd rank the four beers: 4) Smokestack West Coast IPA - It was as described: hoppy and smoky AF. I'm glad I tried it but wouldn't get it again. 3) Czech Pilsner - There was nothing wrong with it, I just usually don't like pilsners...they sometimes lack flavor. I could see a pint of this being super refreshing on a hot day, though. 2) Swinehart Coffee Stout - I usually don't like stouts or coffee flavored beer but this was awesome. So glad I tried it. It makes me want to try other coffee/stout beers 1) Tributary Tripel Belgian ale- Again, this wasn't on the menu but was suggested by my server. It's sweet (which I usually don't like), with hints of plum and even bubblegum, but not overly sweet. I wasn't sure how all those flavors were gonna work but they did! For food, I ordered shrimp and grits. Having lived in Philadelphia and now Tennessee, the two foods I'm pickiest about are cheesesteaks and shrimp and grits. At Lock 15, the S&Gs were good, not great. They were served as described: in a Cajun broth with corn grits, kale, and scallions. I usually prefer my grits cheesy when served with shrimp but wanted to give these a go. Again, good and satisfying, but not great. If I ever come back (and I definitely would if I'm in Akron again), I'd try one of their burgers or their fish and chips. Both looked great when they came out of the kitchen. read more

This place was by far really awesome! It definitely exceeded my expectations. I came here over 4th of July weekend for my vacation. The location of this place is greater. Though I will say, parking is a hassle, especially if you own a larger vehicle The waiter and staff here were awesome and made us feel comfortable. Please definitely call in advance to book a reservation before you even think about coming here. I tried their sangria, fries, veggie sandwich amongst other items and everything was just phenomenal. It may be a bit pricey but the place is definitely worth your money. Their food will hit you! It put me to sleep an hour when I get back home! I would definitely love to see more hard ciders added to the menu. Definitely reccomend this place! read more

Be right now weird menu and the menu doesn't say what's on stock. For instance, my wife ordered a flatbread no where did it say it had prosciutto or pork on it my wife would've ordered it altered. Had she known because she doesn't eat pork the whole menu was very weird, what we ate was good the server Tom was terrific very personable very affable and and to please I wanted the fish and chips and the fish was terrific. Lock 15 is yet another brewery in Akron. It has some stiff competition. The other breweries are great. Here it's okay. The atmosphere is loud and slow. It's located a ways from downtown. It's on the north side in a big building around Howard and North. They share it with a couple of fancy restaurants. It's very loud inside. You can hardly hear the bartender or waitstaff. I had the Towpath Porter. It's about $6 for a pint. This is a pretty okay beer, not bad and nothing special. It has a large food menu. Most of the stuff is expensive, ridiculously. Appetizers are priced a little better. It's about $8 for the pretzel. This thing is ridiculously massive. It comes with cheese and homemade spicy mustard. The pretzel is very oily but it has good seasoning. Overall it's okay. The other breweries in Akron are a lot better. Cheaper too. read more

This is a cool place. We went with a large group and the table was ready on a Friday night. It was very busy and I assume the wait was fairly significant so plan ahead on that. The service was fantastic. Quick and responsive. The place also has a nice vibe. The food is solid, not the best but pretty good. I thought the grilled octopus was slightly underwhelming, it had a strong fish flavor which is not what you want. They also only gave you one small piece. For the price, I think this could have been better. The shrimp tacos were decent as well. Not extremely impressed overall with the food but I think the drinks, vibe and service make up for it. read more

What a great place to visit! First off, they have a very cool ambience. You can sit in the bar, the inside dining area, or the patio. You can't go wrong with any of these areas. We chose the dining area, but will definitely be back soon to sit on the patio. We tried a few of the house brews, all were good. My favorite was the Killer Fog. You can also order a sampler tray and taste a variety of them. The food is outstanding. I went with the Nashville chicken for my dinner. All white meat chicken breast with a kick! It was cooked to perfection. My fiancé had steak medallions that were also very, very good. If you're feeling an appetizer, they have several good ones, but go with the tater tots plate. Large tater tots with cheese and bacon mixed inside. They were awesome. I highly recommend Lock 15. We drove 40 minutes to check it out and were not disappointed! We got there around 5:30 on a Saturday and had no problem getting seated. However, if you are going to go around the peak dinner hours on a weekend, I'd suggest getting a reservation.
