We had been wanting to try this brewery but hadn't gotten around to it. We saw they were closing so we made a point to stop in. From the looks of the menu (lots of beer sold out), the community came through for them STRONG. I enjoyed the beer I had (can't recall the name) and glad we supported before they closed. Sorry to see it go. Not sure why they are closing but it's just another microbrewery that did not make it. Not a lot of lower alcohol beers mostly around 9-10%. I would say try it but won't be around much longer. read more

I've been to Magic City many times over the last few years. It's definitely a fun brewery with a good vibe and great craft beer. They have a little patio on the side for use in the summer. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you need assistance deciding on a beer. One funny thing I noticed on my most recent visit is they have a self serve water tap but it has a Miller Lite tap handle! I've tried many of their beers over the years but they Unholy Grounds is my favorite. It's a sweet blonde ale with a coffee taste. They are big fans of 'The Office' the TV show so every time I've come there is a beer name after a reference related to 'The Office'. I've seen: Prison Mike, Florida Stanley, Dinkin Flika, and Pam Failed Art School. I would love to go there more often if I lived closer - it's definitely one of my favorite breweries in the Akron area. read more

This is the best damn beer I have had in, like, five years. I have never had a Mexican Lager anywhere else in the US that wasn't a larger brand you can find in grocery stores. Their Pilsner is good AF too. The only problem is that I can't walk home from here! I just moved to Kenmore from Highland Square and had been wanting to try this place. We popped in during a short road trip from the Columbus area and I have a to say - this beer was delicious and their little food cafe was also surprisingly SO good. Drinks and food here are amazing the list of beers on draft are extensive and such a wide variety. I haven't had anything bad here yet. The food is a separate entity inside of Magic City called Cult Kitchen. I've had wings and sweet potato fries here and both are amazing. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and will talk about each of the beers and good recommendations. Here for the Summit Brew Path. It's hot mess pandemic 2020 so my time at Magic City was brief, but right away I liked the place. They have a funny "no mask no beer for you" sign on the front door. Personable female bartenders that know their beer and know about other local breweries. I hate it when bar staff only sells beer and can't tell speak about it. I enjoyed a nice IPA called Florida Stanley that wasn't bitter at all. Overall chill vibe and I would come here again. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I came for the Summit Brew Path, and I'm so glad I did. First off, check their hours before you come! They're closed Monday and Tuesday ( check their website for details in case it changes). They are also very accessible and the business is hard to miss from the street! They have a huge Cult Kitchen sign (a sister business inside the restaurant with food, woohoo) and a huge white brewery sign with their signature logo. They have a big private parking lot - had no issues parking on a Wednesday evening. Unfortunately I got there after the kitchen closed so didn't get to try any of their food ( which is a good reason to come back! ). But fortunately! The beer is amazing. I got a flight of 4 and was very impressed with every beer I got. My favorite was the Christmas ale by far which literally tastes like a maple roll. They can a lot of their beer in 4 packs, but they will can crowlers (32oz.) on site, which is very convenient. I obviously had to take a crowler of their Christmas ale to go. The bar itself has a great vibe, like a hardcore or a punk show. There's a drunk zombie mural on the way to the bathroom and the Christmas tree is upside down and decorated with bats, if that gives you any idea of the sweet vibes in here. The brewery is clean, there's a bar and a good amount of tables in there. The bartenders were so kind and very knowledgeable about the beer, able to give great recommendations. You can tell that they're very passionate and committed to their craft. I asked the bartender about getting a 4 pack of their Christmas ale and it sold out on the day it released! (which is a marker of how delicious it is). He recommended I download an app, "oznr", which is basically an etsy for local craft beer joints so I could subscribe to their updates and catch it when they release more :) Also, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. As if all this wasn't enough, they also have really cool, well designed merch from local artists. It isn't available online, but is available in stores. So neat! I would highly recommend this little brewery if you're into beer - great beer, good diversity, and good & fair prices. Enjoyed my stop here and can't wait to come back and try to food! read more

Yes, Yes, Yes. This is a must stop in the area, or heck we aren't from the area and we still stopped :) Their IPA's were so amazing. I loves the OJOG was super refreshing... it's was perfect for a sunny night on the patio... or breakfast... stop judging :) Their triple IPA was so smooth and went down waaay too fast. Walking in we were greeted by the cheeriest bartender ever and she was so kind and accommodating (and hustling).. it was busy and she made sure everyone found a table so they could enjoy their drinks. The food there... is worth going for. The menus isn't giant but is so well thought out and delicious. We tried the grilled pizza, street tacos and wings... and they were all perfect too. This was a very cool place and a very hidden gem. Within an hour of opening it was packed! Becky is an awesome bartender and is super cool to talk to. I had the Mexican Stout and it was very good. Deep flavors, very good chocolate note without feeling like you are drinking a candy bar. Very rich, so hard to have more than 1....but I managed to have a couple :-D. Ok brewery, not my favorite as I wasn't a fan of the beers. The only thing they had available was IPAs and Stouts(neither of which are really my thing). With that said, if you do like IPAs and Stouts this should probably be on your list of places to stop. read more

I'm a proud craft beer snob, however, I do love most styles and it's rare that I would turn my nose up at a beer made in the same building I was sitting in. But most times, some are better than others. EVERY SINGLE BEER HERE IS TO DIE FOR. It's absurd how good they are. The flavor, the color, the mouth feel. It's all spot on. I figured one of the fruit beers would be my favorite, but the coffee blonde about knocked me off my chair. It's the best I've ever had- and if you aren't impressed by that fact, find me on Untappd. We had a nice time chatting with the bartender, but didn't meet the brewers. For a brewery in the middle if a run down looking spot I was impressed with their selection and taste of their beer. I've never had a light colored coffee beer, especially one that tasted so good. The American Hefe was also a favorite of mine. No food, but you can bring your own or have food delivered there. The beer at Magic City really stands out as exceptional even amongst the large number of recent craft brewery openings. They currently have 5 beers on tap and all were a step above. I'm not a wheat beer fan typically, but their mark it zero had yummy banana and clove notes. Not typically a saison fan but their hive devil with honey and peppercon was fantastic. Even better still was their Dilligaf IPA which smells like a delicious flower. Then, when you cant think it gets better, you try the Dark Empress a smooth chocolate stout at 9.5%. The owner and head brewer is great to chat with and works behind the bar. He brews great stuff, better than a lot of breweries in Cleveland. I will be back! read more

Awesome grungy brewery with a whole lot of attitude. Neighborhood is suspect, building is suspect, decor and vibe sketchy. It's perfect. This isn't your fine dining, fancy appetizers type of place. It's a little brewery with the charm of a biker gang. You walk in and hear the heavy metal playing, the picnic table seating, and retro arcade games. The door to the back is usually open exposing the belly of the back room. The beers are named accordingly and the bartenders look every bit as you would expect. It's great! I had a few beers not remembering them all. What I do remember is the unforgettable combinations and experimental brews. A blonde coffee ale?! How is that even possible?! Small brewery with friendly staff. Brews on tap change frequently yet had an option for everyone ipa, ale, and stouts. Flight of beers available for the undecided or you can even buy a sample size. Tables were spaced appropriately and a sign upon entering that if a worker did not have mask on it was because of medical reasons. At this time, all employees had masks on. Was a come in seat yourself or get served at the long standing bar. Waitress frequently shouted out of tables were open for anyone from bar wanted to sit. The bar itself didn't serve food yet a food window on end of bar did. This was considered a different place and would be on a separate bill than bar tab. Hands down, one of the best breweries in the area. It doesn't look like much from the road, but once inside, this place has a character all its own. The personality inside doesn't come from random kitschy wall hangings, but more the people around you. Clearly a joint for regulars, newbies aren't shrugged off. A few of the bartenders have a playful, edgy tone...ya know...that cousin at the family party who's always egging you on. Not mean, but ready to throw some shade when you saddle up to the bar and order a seltzer (I know, but it's really good). Honestly, this is one of the first craft brew joints where I've enjoyed every beer on tap...and they have a solid selection with a decent range. The previously-mentioned hard seltzer...Bad Robot Us's...is not your typical tart, fizzy, bland disappointment. This one is packed with flavor, owing its unique presentation to real mango and pineapple. In some pours, I've gotten a reasonable dose of pulp, which sends this seltzer towards more of a summer resort beverage than a mid-Ohio brewery staple. Bad Robot is a surprise, but a pleasant and welcome one. The rest of the list is definitely not just 'the rest'. Their 'Aunt Marge's Xmas Slay' is a solid winter ale with a well-balanced blend of sweet and savory notes throughout. Some winter and Christmas ales are heavy on the cinnamon or nutmeg or sweetness...this one does a beautiful job keeping everything in balance. It delivers against its inspiration, too... a family holiday tradition...a Christmas maple roll. 'Unholy Grounds' is a fantastic coffee blonde ale, 'Dilligaf' is a solid Citra American IPA, and 'Dennis the Casket Salesman' shows up to the party as a bright, punchy gose. The range of the tap list and the delivery of each shows tremendous skill and imagination. Needless to say, we'll be back. A quick note on the food...Cult Kitchen is technically a sister business, run alongside the brewery and a part of the same footprint. It's a little confusing initially, but the staff does a nice job guiding you through it. I'm gonna have to go find their Yelp page because the food is stellar. Not a massive list of options, but definitely not needed. Everything we've had has been fantastic: the wings, the sliders, the hummus, the tacos...all brilliant! Go there.
