Mad Cap Brewery is such a great stop in Kent! The vast variety of brews on tap and the quality is great. Always something on there from a basic golden light lager to IPAs, stouts, Hefeweizens, sours, and more. Everything I've had here has been great! There is also a huge selection of pinball and arcade games that are a blast to play. They even have things like corn hole, jenga, darts, and more. The outdoor and indoor seating areas are huge as well to accommodate any size group. The only thing I wish they had was food! Outside of that I have had no issues!

    Pinball machines!

Flights, 17 pinball machines, skee ball, pool, a few other games. Board games by the door. You can see part of the brew area. Fun place. Loud but what else would you expect with all these games. There is a painting class going on right now. Food trucks when available. And the restrooms are pretty darn clean. Bartender super Fri and knowledgeable. Beers were good. The IPAs were great.

I made a stop at MadCap for the Summit Brew Path. Staff was great in explaining their beers and letting me try several of them. They do not offer any small 5oz glasses so I passed and just put money in their tip jar, but my niece got a full glass of their sour called Smell My Berry and said she enjoyed it. Inside is basically a warehouse with some picnic tables and arcade games - so picture a big open space that can be a bit loud.

Great atmosphere and tons of food brews. Had a flight of beer which came on a pallet shaped flight. All five were pretty good IPA's FYI big fan of IPA's. The place is pretty big and has a divey feel to it, which is not a bad thing. You seat yourself, and they have picnic tables for seating. If you are nearby, I would take a stop by.

This place is legit!! I had a flight with a variety of IPAs and pale ale. Each beer was really good. They have a great selection, but I stuck with the hoppy options after the flight. I think it was called Dropping Anchor - NEIPA and I floated my boat!! The brewery itself was awesome. Lots of space to sit and a bunch of games. They have a bunch of pinball machines too. I'm from California and we don't have many pinball places, so it was a nice treat. Highly recommend MadCap.

So much fun! This is a great place for groups of friends to get together, catch up and have a great time. The vibe is very chill and fun rather than wild and crazy. They have large picnic tables inside of a warehouse with tons of different group games, skeeball, pool, etc. They have a large beer selection, and the beers I tried were so good! I love that their menu gives you all the stats on their beer such as IBU and ABV. They also have a food truck outside where you can order burgers and fries if you get the munchies =) The really friendly bartender told us that they plan to expand and have a large outdoor area soon! Definitely looking forward to that.

Im at about a 3.5 here, but this is based solely on one visit, and I think there is potential to give more stars later. Some of the reasons we didn't stay all that long weren't necessarily their fault. I kept thinking that if I came back another day, it would be more enjoyable. I love the idea of a unique small business, away from the downtown Kent bar scene. We came around 5pm on a Saturday and by 6 o'clock it was absolutely packed. There was a 15-20 minute line to get a beer. They had two bartenders, and probably could have used another. There was no room at all to get a seat at one of the picnic tables. I'm not sure if it was just this specific day, but there were probably 20-30 kids there with their parents. I guess it works for parents because there are things for the kids to do while they drink. I suppose that's fine, I just didn't really expect that many children at a brewery. They don't serve food, but the Pierogi Lady was setting up in a side room to serve food. It seems like they bring in different food trucks on busy nights. There was a line of pinball machines, ski ball, giant jenga, cornhole and other games. The bathrooms were clean. It's an industrial/garage vibe, very large and open. They had 5-6 beers on tap when we were there. I think I was expecting there to be 9 or 10 like R Shea Brewing has, but I know they've only been there a year, and it's a small business. They may also normally have more, but could have been out due to the large crowd? I believe I saw some stuff erased off the chalkboard menu. I like blonde ale's and they didn't have one on the menu. The wizard cloak was a 12% beer and was awesome, especially for how strong it is. Super smooth beer. I really liked that one. I'd really like to go back, because it definitely has the potential to be a good time.

While in the area for a concert at Blossom we ventured over to Kent to check this place out. MadCap is on the Ohio brewery app so we needed a stamp! This is a pretty cool place to visit if you're ever in town! The staff were helpful and friendly. The building is industrial but cool. One side has all kinds of games to play while the other side has tables with board and card games on them. Definitely enough to keep you busy while touring the beer list. I hope the next time I drive through Kent that they are able to offer some in house food options, or even a food truck. There are lost of options to order delivery- which we did and it arrived surprisingly fast- but I'm hoping MadCap grows enough to support their own food options!

Great spot! My husband and I were in town from Arizona and were craving a little silver ball. After a quick Google search, we landed on this gem and gave them a ring to see how many machines they have. The worker proudly announced the names of their 14 pinball machines which included one of our favorites, Medieval Madness. We showed up with grandma and grandpa in tow and had a blast for a couple hours. My husband purchased a can of one of their local brews to take home. A few days later we returned with more friends to play again! Thanks, MadCap!

As other reviewers have stated, I'm between a 3 and a 4 on this Kent brewery. The atmosphere was a little too "garage band" for us, with chain link fencing and concrete everywhere you look. That being said, there were plenty of people here enjoying themselves! There lots of games you can play, but because all of them were taken by the time we got there, we ended up sitting by ourselves on one of the many picnic tables to the left. The beer itself was about on par with other small local county breweries. Overall, this could be a place for you if you like the "garage band" feel, but it wasn't really our scene.

Good outdoor atmosphere and indoor is very spaced out. Good place to grab drinks while maintaining social distance.

More normal brews (i.e. basic ingredients not fruit and flowers) than trending in brewpubs. Nice atmosphere for communing with friends.

I tasted them at Iron Mann in Girard. Shout out to those guys for having this extensive selection, along with great, friendly service I'd say check out 1547 wherever you find them and see how your tastes compare to mine... My impression of the beers (always a subjective matter, of course) went down something like this: 1400 Miles From Home - a Key Lime Sour. Very light sour, to my liking, with all of the flavors in the description working together quite nicely Kolsch - another light version of this style. It is a good summer beer for someone who wants a little more flavor than a Bud/Coors/Miller Ohio Heat Wave - subtle habanero on the back end slowly builds, but that's about the only thing I'm picking up. This is a very light beer Hang 11 - a sweet IPA? The bitterness is as advertised. Would love to know the hops involved. Very drinkable, but don't expect a mouthful of IPA. More like a sweet, session IPA in my opinion Shooktown NE IPA - first taste hit very nice. Like most of them, it tastes very close to the description. No bitterness, but like others on the flight, it's a light version of this style. I'm used to a more potent hit of juice from a NE IPA, it's drinkable for sure

Nice variety of beer and seltzer. Only tried the IPA. Impressive flavor! Chill vibe. We will…read moredefinitely be back.
