We hired agent Noa Hussey to sell our investment property in Waikiki. Noa was very grateful that we even considered him to represent us. The first email was professional but after that, his emails became less and less professional, no spell checking and got to the point where we couldn't understand what he was trying to say most of the time and responding quickly to email via phone without reviewing what he was sending. We received an offer which we accepted and that's when we realized that Noa doesn't know how to set up or handle any of the paperwork. Noa requested a rental contract from our property manager who incorrectly sent our contract which contained our SSN and TAT information instead of a blank contract. Without reviewing it, Noa forwarded all our private information to multiple persons. We had to contact Noa's Team Lead to alert them of this serious breach of privacy. Noa also asked our property manager to not rent the condo out for the last ten days before closing without our knowledge, permission or explanation. We made it very clear that this is an investment property from the very beginning and needs to be in the rental pool until closing. After closing and reviewing the paperwork we realized that the title company didn't catch a mistake on the paperwork (we believe an error created by the online meeting with the notary), and we had to go back and deal with it ourselves because Noa did not review the documents to ensure those were completed correctly. Noa has no knowledge or experience on how to set up a real-estate transaction and his customer service skills are extremely poor. Our experience with Noa and everyone at Locations was one of the most needlessly complicated and unprofessional transaction, we've dealt with in Hawaii in the past 20 plus years we've invested in the state. We will never recommend Noa or anyone at Locations to anyone. read more

The unit she was showing didn't interest me but she reached out and set up a time to help me find what I was looking for. Keep in mind I had no intent on buying. Yuko however was able to guide me through the process and stuck with me even though I wasn't serious about buying. About 6 weeks later I was a first time home owner. I literally gave this girl hell. She answered all my question 24/7 and never once complained. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and complete disregard for clients in any setting as I have with JAN KIM at Locations Hawaii. My husband and I each submitted our applications with payments, and a few days later my husband received a call from Jan's assistant Rexie who stated we had been approved for the unit. Before immediately jumping to sign on the dotted line, my husband asked if it would be okay for him to call me, his wife (and equal applicant for this unit). Rexie responded impatiently with something along the lines of "we need to have a contract signed today for this unit and we have two other applicants after you" (note: it was nearly 4pm at the time of this call, and the application states a period of 24 hours to reply). My husband politely acknowledged this need, and let Rexie know he would be calling back in the next few minutes after speaking with me, to which Rexie expressed understanding and agreement. As promised, my husband called back within ~10 minutes to move forward with signing and left a voicemail. He proceeded to call 5 times within the hour with no answer, and I tried calling as well with no answer. I personally never received a call from Locations Hawaii regarding my application, and thus texted Jan to inquire about next steps. I was informed by Jan via text at nearly 5pm that they had "moved on to the next app," and she accusatorially stated her assistant spoke with me, though she had not. I asked Jan who I could speak with to resolve this issue, to which I received no information. No apology. No nothing. Additionally, Jan confused me with another person at least twice in the few interactions I had with her. We are very disappointed to have lost the unit due to Jan's unprofessionalism and apparent haste to rent the unit to anyone willing to sign and pay immediately, despite the application stating a period of 24 hours to reply, and our reply being made within minutes. I have contacted Locations Hawaii via various methods to submit my complaint, though have received no response whatsoever. In my mind, our application fees were payment for the service of processing our applications, which I feel was not done, especially given the fact that I was not once contacted regarding my application. I will be avoiding this company in the future, and urge others to as well. read more

This review relates to the agent, Anita Bruhl. She is rude, unprofessional, arrogant and self-centered, condescending, dishonest, and she conducted the entirety of the transaction with puffery, blowing of smoke, extortionist tactics, and a complete lack of transparency. She did not carry out the most basic of responsibilities that her position as a real estate agent calls for. Ultimately, I would say she failed to comply with her fiduciary duty to represent and act in the interest of her client. Instead of doing her job, i.e. communicating honestly and directly with the client, keeping the client abreast of her activities relating to the transaction, and requesting the appropriate authorization from the client whenever called for, she went rogue and contacted the client's daughter (me), someone who was never an official party to the transaction, with the expectation that I would relay her communications to the client, on the assumption that I am even in contact with the client. She even had her personal handyman, someone not officially affiliated with Locations, act as the go-between the client and herself. She would also call my cell phone several times a day and leave ~5-minute long messages, call me "unprofessional" for not picking up (what the hell can I do? For the infinite time, I'm not a party to this transaction...thus, no authority), and write e-mails with walls of text, rambling sometimes on issues not related to the real estate transaction at hand, i.e. her knee surgery (quite irrelevant). I have these e-mails stored away just in case any slander suit gets tossed my way...just what I need, right, when the lady gets a nearly $100K commission for this one gig. Even if I can admit that the client is very difficult to work with, as agent, complete your duties bound by contract and see the matter through. In short, DO YOUR JOB. It was an absolutely miserable experience interacting with this individual. She is out of touch, and she does not know how to manage client expectations or maintain client relations. read more

Prudential is located on Kapahulu, and they have their own parking lot. There's is a attendant in the parking lot to help you on where to park. I thought I wouldn't mention my realtor's name, I try not to in reviews. We've been working with same realtor for about two years, but not seriously for the first year. We weren't really in the situation where we HAD to move, so no big if we didn't find a place immediately. I'm a pretty picky person, and was looking for something that had larger square feet than my current place, in building code, located in town, walk in closet, at least 2 bathrooms, at least 2 bedrooms, pet friendly, at least 2 parking stalls, not a fixer upper unless super cheat, in good condition, master bathroom had to have a long sink, clean kitchen... Better stop on the details, or you'll know what my potential place looks like! haha. Anyway, we were active on searching on the Prudential website, creating lists for favorites and criteria searches. When we found a place we wanted to see, we'd email and/or call our realtor. He would schedule something at a convenient time 2-5 days depending on how fast the other realtor responded. If you watch HGTV 24/7, that makes you a real estate expert, right? Well, that's what certified-addict me thought when I decided to buy my own home. Boy was I wrong. I would have asked my brother-in-law, Drew Scott of the Property Brothers, to be my realtor. But he and my husband, contractor/designer Jonathan Scott (it's true, he just doesn't know it yet) were busy filming in the Mainland. It's ok honey, I understand. So I decided to go with Prudential for assistance. I went to their breakfast seminar in their Diamond Head branch. The talk was highly informative and entertaining. They really do know the local market and trends. While eating a delicious breakfast burrito in their meeting room, I realized that I was indeed ready to take the plunge and become a first-time homebuyer. The realtor I chose was Debbie Anderson. She is much prettier than Drew, and just as well-dressed, but that is not why I chose her. Debbie has a personality that I was comfortable with. Debbie was never pushy, and helped me come to conclusions on my own about how much money I should spend to get what I want. She listened well, and was able to read me and lined up showings that fit my personality, lifestyle and budget. And she would be honest with me during house tours and tell me flatly if certain places would not be good for me. I appreciated that candor. She really does care. But what made all the difference for me is that Debbie gets the job done! Debbie texted me the evening the property I ended up buying came on the market. I said YESSSS it's beautiful, let's go to the open house the moment they open. She said NOOOO we need to go in before that. Debbie convinced the selling agent to allow me to tour the place the next night. After hours too! In the words of the selling agent: "She was so sweetly convincing, I couldn't say no." When the open house came around, the sellers received 5 other offers but sorry! Too late! I already had put in an offer the night before and got accepted. Debbie gave me the upper hand, and for that I am eternally grateful. I am totally in love with my new place even a year later. The rest of the Prudential team came through for me too. There were other agents assisting with the financial and legal part of it, and they were all very prompt, clear and efficient. I always hear that the process for a first-time home buyer is fraught with stress and anxiety. Not for me. It took me just 3 weeks from the time I went to the seminar to the time my offer was accepted. I would say that because of Prudential and Debbie, my entire process was painless, and, dare I even say... enjoyable. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a few complaints about Locations (I do know some great agents who work for them) but specifically about my old property manager Mark T. My spouse and I rented a unit from Mark and were easily accommodated. We did notice moving in that there were a lot of food Venues surrounding us so we did worry about bugs BUT we had no other options and had to move quickly. Within the first two weeks of living in our new home we got into an argument with one of the business owners downstairs because Mark assigned us her parking space and we had to be moved to another space. We started to notice that 4 months into moving in our home became infested with roaches. We cleaned every other day and did all we could to make sure the home was clean enough to live in. Then we started noticing MOLD growing on our kitchen wall. Not just any mold, red mold that covered behind our fridge, our sink and bugs were coming out of the wall. An upstairs unit had a leak which caused our wall to infest. We both emailed and emailed and tried to get the situation resolved but Mark lacked communication and it took 6 months to resolve. We couldn't even cook in our kitchen because it wasn't safe. When they finally got it fixed we weren't even contacted to ensure it was done right and that the bug problem disappeared. We had so many issues with this rental from homeless people making house within our building, the intense scent of pot every night coming from upstairs and neighbors who we complained about every other week for blasting pounding music till 2am everyday. As a property manager I would have though Mark would make sure all his tenants were taken care of to ensure they continue to use Locations. I will NEVER recommend him as a property manager and I hope someone will ensure he is healed responsible for his lack of compassion and willingness to his renters. Side note- I went to visit this specific location to pick something up and the downstairs clerk who I've never seen before (covered in tattoos) spoke with an extremely rude tone to everyone in the office. I've worked as a clerk before, your body language and tone of voice sets the mood for an establishment. read more

Please be aware. I recently was completing my rental lease due to the owner selling his unit. Unit was given to Locations Hawaii to sell. Selling agents name is Joan Chen. During the transition of me leaving my unit, I had all the regular responsibilities that any person who's moving has. After I left the unit I had a few more personal items in unit waiting for friends or buyers of items to pick up. This agent Joan was so impatient 3 days prior to my lease ending date she decided to go into my unit unannounced and she personally took my items and placed them out of my unit. She also decided to place her own items in the unit to stage for her viewings. Let's remember I'm still on lease and still responsible for this unit under contract. I feel like this agent stole my items as she was not given authorization to touch, take or move any of my personal items in my unit.
