Bland. If I could use one word to describe our food. Came here with friends and two ordered the pasta, I had the kabab plate and the other ordered hers to go so I don't really know what she received. The kebob plate: the steak was legit. Well seasoned. Cooked well. But the rice? No flavor. At all. The veggies were very dry and also no flavor at all. Just.. disappointing. And for this big ass kebab plate, they have you half a pita. Two 1/4 triangles. How. On. Earth. The pasta dishes the pasta itself was so overcooked it was just mush. The shrimp were delicious. But the sauce tasted like, well nothing. Now the goat cheese appetizer was the best part of the night. I could have eaten that over and over. But the rest of it. Id prefer to go somewhere else. I came here with a friend to try out this restaurant and I'm so sad I didn't know about this restaurant previously when I lived in the area! The restaurant has a very modern look to it and I absolutely love the vibe! It's casual and comfy. I was greeting by the hostess and seated quickly as they did look like they were picking up for the dinner service despite the rainy weather that day. There were a mix of high-top tables and some short tables that fit any size group of peoples from 2 to 8! I was seated at a small high- top table by the window in the back and a waiter came by to give me a glass of water. Once my friend arrived a few minutes later, our waiter came by to introduce herself and asked if there was anything we would like to drink. We both decided alcoholic beverages to enjoy and she said she'd give us a few minutes to look over the menu while she put in our drink orders. About 10-15 minutes passed before she came back with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. I ordered the Tuna Tartare for an appetizer to share and then our entrees as well since we both knew what we wanted. I got the grilled salmon with rice and golden raisins with some grilled veggies which were delicious. Despite how full I was I still made room for dessert which was a triple chocolate cake! I had a great experience at Local Table. I was seated right away and my sever was Juliette, she was so helpful in making some selections for me. I went for appetizers and drinks. I had the goat cheese appetizer and the basil bramble as my drink. Both were excellent. The atmosphere was great too. I just had dinner here at the local table for the second time ever and tonights' experience was definitely a better than my first. My server Nikki was honestly super sweet and attentive. She suggested the chicken tortilla soup and specifically mentioned that the tortilla chips on the side would be really good so they didn't get too soggy and I'd get the "crunch". I've had other tortilla soups before but not like that and it was honestly satisfying. I was in the neighborhood to eat lunch with my niece and nephew at school, but didn't quite feel like having cafeteria food. So between lunches I stopped by here. It wasn't as impressive as the reviews made it out to be. The fresh lemonade was pretty good. I also had a cup of baked potato soup, which was very watery, and not quite what I was envisioning. We been going here since we moved 3 years ago and its been good but the this last time it was terrible. The cast-iron goat cheese with bacon jam was our favorite but this time it tasted really bad and not the same flavor. We also tried a quesadilla and it was bad tasting as well and we did not even finish it. They are inconsistent with there drink making as well with one bartender making the drinks perfect than we said hello to another one we recognized and for some reason he made the second round not near as good as the lady did with the 1st round. A cozy atmosphere with plenty of friendly faces. I loved the Cucumber Martini and the cast iron goat cheese was a lovely warm starter for such a cold day. The chicken fried chicken surprised me, it was well complimented by that mushroom sauce and overall is lovely twist on a classic dish. My mom ordered the Brussel sprout salad, a must try for sure! Every server was so sweet, while we were there they checked on us multiple times and gave great recommendations. It was very open and nice, and while it was a little loud for me, it wasn't too bad at all. The food was incredible (and we are total foodies). Because the Chipotle Cheddar Burger could not have been more tender. --- --- --- The family and I headed down to Cypress to take our son to an indoor playground, but before we got there, we stopped into Local Table for lunch. I wasn't sure what I wanted to order, but I ultimately settled on the Chipotle Cheddar Burger. And I am so glad I did. This was one of the better burgers I've had in a long time. Every bite felt like a pillow of meat and cheese. It was seriously impressive. And the fries were great too. While I loved mine, my wife's gyro was not great. The meat was very gamey and we both didn't love it. But the burger was such excellence that I couldn't leave anything but 5-stars for Local Table. We don't find ourselves in Cypress very often, but I'd happily come back again if we are nearby. read more

This was not the first visit to Local Table nor will it be my last. Definitely a staple restaurant for me and my family. They knock it out of the park every time. The food is always incredible and service is always on point. We dined there last night and per usual food was amazing. We were a party of 7 and ordered the hummus, baked goat cheese and tuna tartar as starters (pics included). For our entrees we enjoyed the Lemon Pasta w/Chicken (I ordered this and it was so good). Pasta has capers and sundried tomatoes and a delicious big piece of toasted bread. My other family members had the Gyro Plate, penne rústica,grilled chicken pesto sandwich and crab cakes. Everyone was completely satisfied. We all dove right into our entrees and I completely to take pictures beforehand. But trust me the dishes were delicious and had a nice presentation. 5 stars -- I came for a meal, I stayed for the Brussels. Who knew Brussels sprouts could taste like tiny roasted miracles? Local Table has officially ruined all other Brussels for me. Crispy, caramelized, perfectly seasoned--honestly, I'd fight someone for the last one. They're not a side dish, they're a main character. I ordered the avocado toast, which was a misnomer. It should've been named cucumber salad on a slice of bread because if you could find the avocado, more power to you. Toward the end, I did spot a sliver slice of avocado. If you're going to name something avocado toast, we should be able to see the avocado. (In breakfast restaurants, there's a very generous amount of avocado on their avocado toast). There was a side of fingerling potatoes, which were just ordinary, no flavor, and they could certainly have served 2 to 3 people. I also ordered a mint tea, and if there was any mint in there, it was the garnish floating around. Here again if you're going to have specialized teas, please make sure they taste like it. Commit to the flavor or just offer plain. We had a side order of brussels sprouts that didn't taste or chew like they were fresh nor were they warm or hot. Did they cook them yesterday? The service was fair. Toward the end we were checked on more frequently, but it would've been nice to be checked on in the beginning. My meal, tax included, came to $30! This is a healthy American food option in the Cypress area. When I visited the restaurant, I recognized a lot of names to dishes similar to Hungry's in Rice Village. Looked it up online and Local Table was actually created by the same family that owns Hungry's. It's basically the suburban version of Hungry's. That being said I will have to say that the OG Hungry's food is tastier than Local Table. However, the options here are good. There are a LOT of vegetarian options including vegan and gluten free (all clearly labeled on the menu, which is always a plus). My favorite dish is the Nutritious (salad bowl including a healthy patty). I also like the penne rustica pasta and tried the brussel sprouts goat cheese pizza for the first time. The pizza is good but it has a sweet flavor to it that I was not expecting. For the most part, you can't go wrong here. One vegetarian dish I might avoid is the black bean burger, which does not have your typical veggies inside (no cucumber, lettuce, tomato). The inside was very aesthetically pleasing but the entree's were subpar. We were a party of 8 and we were seated immediately upon arrival on a Sunday afternoon. The Mimosa Flight was larger than we anticipated. We were expecting small glasses of Mimosa. My favorite was the raspberry. Expect a large generous serving whenever you order the Mimosa Flight. A friend ordered a spicy margarita (not pictured) and she thought it was too spicy for her liking. Another friend ordered an Old Fashioned (not pictured) but he didn't like it either. They were able to switch out their drinks to another option. The appetizers were delicious! I definitely enjoyed the shrimp ceviche and house made hummus! The hummus was creamy but without dairy, the pita bread was soft and fluffy, and the ceviche was fantastic! My friends also really enjoyed the artichoke dip. As for the entrees, my Philly Cheesesteak minus the cheese and Mayo (due to my dairy allergy) was okay. The bread was a bit hard and the eggs weren't fried like advertised on the menu. They were over easy. My friends and I actually didn't receive our eggs until we asked for them since I suppose our waiter forgot. Our waiter was also playing "Where's Waldo" with us because he would just disappear whenever we needed him. We often asked the bus boys or other waiters for what we needed since we couldn't find our waiter. Overall, the decor was aesthetically pleasing, the location and restaurant is child-friendly, and the appetizers were delightful, but I wouldn't return for the entrees.
