We really enjoyed our visit and were impressed with the food, drinks, service and the facility. We ate on the first floor, and the place was in great shape. Looked new (it's not right?). We were sat in a comfortable u-shaped booth. I didn't realize the upstairs had a bar & seating as well, until I went up to use the restroom. Our server was so nice & friendly - I wished I could remember her name for this review. I noticed that other staff also seemed to do well with other customers too. Our food included nachos, perogies, quesadilla and BBQ rice bowl. All good. Great drinks too, including the Happy Hour Sassy Sangria which has a touch of Fireball to give it some kick. read more

Excellent!! How can a place called the "Local" not be fabulous, because it is...service is spectacular. Love how they work in a "team" setting & someone is always checking on your table. Beer: great selection Apps: we had the crispy potato- and it want what I expected. I thought it would like poutine - but the potato's are cold in a creamy sauce - good but not great. Mains: bacon burger - excellent- great bun & perfectly cooked burger. Loved the gravy w the fries - in fact we had to order more fries because the gravy was so great!! Local Public Eatery is one of our favourite downtown go to places downtown for a quick appetizer or a full meal and drinks. The restaurant has a big list of local beer that rotates regularly. Very convenient spot to visit before or after a Winnipeg Jets game. Delicious food and reasonable prices. Service is always attentive and friendly. The simple quesadillas is one of my go to items as well as their weekend brunch. You can't go wrong with their fish & chips or sliced steak. read more

I kind of like this cool big little restaurant. It's not too big and it's not too compacted. The waitresses are pretty and nice. I appreciate the small talk that is exchanged. Polite conversations cheers up my mood. I would give this place a 5 star rating but I found the nachos I ordered the first time a bit pricey for what was given to me. I asked for no meat on the nachos and that was respected but no added substitution was offered unless I wanted to pay for it. I would have probably added guacamole to the chips. Other than this the nachos were relishing. The second time I visited this place I chose to eat the Ahi Tuna Poke Rice Bowl and it was nectarous-appetizing! The way Poke Bowls always are. The avocado and the seafood chunks coupled with the crispy Korean tofu on top of the rice, it all nourished me well. read more

If you want to eat delicious food, have cold drinks, and watch hockey, this place is for you. We came there from out of town, with our three young children, and the service was friendly and attentive. I had pirogies, which were delicious, and the ramen with fried chicken was very good. My wife had the Calabrian Caesar salad with sirloin, and enjoyed it and its spicy kick. The kids really liked their burgers. If I lived in Winnipeg, we'd go there regularly. read more

It was late night and we ordered a cocktail and a drink mixed with vodka. The bartender immediately served them infront of us however, we saw a small insect inside the cocktail drink so we immediately returned it and he even replaced it with a new one. The worse thing he did was he just served the drink with an insect in it to the other customer who ordered the same drink. We were so disappointed coz he wasn't even bothered nor ashamed that he did it just infront of us while we are looking... Aside from that, we've also ordered a food. We politely asked the staff (too bad we didn't know her name) to take up our order. After that we waited and noticed that it's taking so long. It's been almost 20mins so we made a follow up to the server. We have been observing the kitchen and we learned that she actually didn't queue up our order at first. We understand that the place was so busy but there were lots of staff there too. She was unapologetic for delaying it, so we ended up unhappy eating our food when it was served (after 5mins). Good thing is that their fries and burger tasted good. It was our first time to be there and sad to say that we definitely never gonna come back again because of the service. read more

Funny enough I haven't dined here until very recently even though I pass by here often. I went here this past week for Taco Week to try out their Pinche Beef Tacos. For $11 for 3 it was a good deal that came with braised beef, shredded cabbage, feta, cilantro, and banana peppers. Pretty good! It won't completely fill you up, so I added cinnamon sugar donuts to end the meal off. I was told that it's a very popular menu item, though it's basically the only dessert item anyway. Service was excellent and all employees inside are vaccinated. They check for ID and vaccination proof before you can sit. I feel safe dining here and the food's good for what I paid. read more

From the moment we walked through the door Mckenna welcomed us with a warm smile and took care of us like regulars, her and Jaden's recommendations were spot on! Lovely pub to have downtown. They have a great selection of cocktails, make a mean old fashioned, and a decent selection on the food menu. The chicken with hot honey was delicious, and the small beef tacos packed a ton of flavour. Our server was excellent, extremely efficient, knowledgeable about the menu, and very friendly. If you are native/aboriginal I do not recommend eating here at all!! The moment we walked in me and my friend were stared at by over three employees and 10 customers like we didn't belong... it was so disgusting and unnecessary to embarrass people like that. Then after being judged the waitress then proceeded to overcharge my friend. And for $20 just for a burger and fries it is not worth it at all. So I just ordered this burger through the Door Dash app, had never heard of the place, had no idea where it was, what the decor was like, just had the photos to go off. The prices were a little higher than I had planned on spending but the photos made it look like they might make a good burger... and they do. Holy crap do they ever. First of all, the burger was BIG. Like, I feel like a lot of places have been shrinking their burgers, but this thing was on a large bun and the patty was clearly not from frozen. And... I want another one... not because it wasn't good or filling, but just because like... it was so nice to eat. Last time I had a burger that I enjoyed that much it was at Chop. I'm not sure what they do to make their burgers that good, but that was the best burger I've had in a long time... and I eat a lot of burgers. read more

We tried this for the first time yesterday and I was really impressed with what they did to the old The Pint. The place is great. The bar is huge on both floors. The beer/wine/cocktails selection is good too. They have local craft beers. There's a lot of foods to choose from. We're quite impressed! They have happy hour from 3-6pm and 9 till closing which is pretty sweet! The staff and the night manager were very friendly. read more

Rehearsed greetings and oddly over a dozen staff and three managers all strutting around trying to seem busy with 5 people in the entire place. A single person I asked for a seat outside.
