Only time we've experienced bad service here. Been multiple times and today (during burger week 2024) we were completely ignored by our waitress who forgot to ring in our burger. We waited 45 minutes AFTER receiving our appetizer and still no burger. When we asked how much longer it would be she said she'd check but never came to let us know how long it would be. Never refilled our drinks and then when we paid with cash she said she'd be back with our change but didn't come back until we called her over to which she said she completely forgot which I don't understand because she looked at us multiple times. Every other time we've been it's been amazing so this was really sad considering we love this place. Will consider who's on shift next time we come because it was really unacceptable especially during an important week like this where SO many new customers are coming in. +.5 for service For the hype it gets I was a bit disappointed by the food quality given the price I paid. I went here recently with a coworker and his friend on a Friday night, and it wasn't busy at all. While reservations are suggested, I'm aware that they leave a portion of tables for walk-ins. So feel free to still come even if you can't book a reservation. I had the Krakow Burger, which was recommended in some Google reviews. It was apparently one of the Burger Week winners a while ago. It was good, but for $21 I was left expecting a bit more. It didn't feel that much better than smash burgers from other local sports bars in the city. Their indo-met salad was certainly a unique salad, and something I wouldn't mind trying again. Their beer is probably better than the food IMO. Steel Cut Blonde had that nice honey touch if you like that, while Tepache Gold is amazing if you like pineapple. Highly recommend both. Service was good for us here. I probably won't go crazy in returning here unless it's for drinks. read more

The atmosphere and service here is great. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday around 5pm. It's a big space with a lot of seating. The flight of beers was shared between 2 people. It was great to have a taste of everything. They make the beer there! Vegan wings: so it was my first time trying it and we got the Buffalo sauce which wasn't too spicy. Very flavorful. I'm not vegan and these were still delicious to me. They are known for their bbq but I had enough meat at this point. Their fish and chips was recommended and I'd say it was pretty good! Restaurant is in a good location. For parking ,which is free, enter through the first entrance which is just before the restaurant . Lunch seating was great with no waiting. We had fish and chips. Really got a lot of delicious fries. Haddock was a meagre serving in comparison. But it arrived hot and fresh to our table. My friend ordered their craft beer. She said it was good and would like to bring her husband there next time as he knows and enjoys a good beer. Service was very good. Their bathrooms are for both male and female. But there is privacy! Had a great dining experience. I'm a big craft beer fan, so when the bartender knows the beers, and the beers are good (which these are!), that is a big plus for me. Ordered the salmon, which was gilled to perfection. The kale / quinoa in the dish was also good, as was the base layer of sweet potato. The hand crafted cocktails were delicious, my date enjoyed her beers. Although as someone who is an avid bbqer and smoker, I was disappointed that they ran out of bacon. read more

Disappointed in the whole experience. Drinks took a long time. I asked what was the service persons favorite cocktail was - he said they were all not great and I should have a beer. I said I didn't like beer and he just said "Oh?" (Really not helpful). I ordered vegan ramen (when they finally took the order) and 10 min later he came back and said the kitchen couldn't make it (it is on the menu and it's noodles vegetables and broth?). So I had to reorder. I got the vegan bam ban shrimp - which was good. However, it was about the sizer of a cereal bowl (and half filled with lettuce). For $20, kind of ridiculous. What ticked me off the most was I had put a bunch of loonies on the table because I was getting the tip. I hadn't counted out what I wanted to give him and he came in and grabbed all of it in front of me! I didn't want to say anything because there was a bunch of people at the table. I had an ok dining experience here, but nothing to rave about. The location is good, lots of free parking and a nice, trendy casual "bar style" decor. It was a bit noisy on a weeknight, but that's too be expected from a brewery type venue. The bathrooms were cool, though; unisex and highly stylized. The menu was standard pub fare with a few quirky ingredients like pork (although they call it pig which sounds kinda unappetizing) poutine, unique cheeses and beer-laden sauces. The menu online listed duck in a couple of dishes (which is why we came) but they were not serving any duck when we visited. Boooo!!!! The prices were under $20 for a burger with fries. Not totally unreasonable, but not really worth the quality of what you get. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we first came in (seated quickly; it was only 1/3 full) and for at the beginning of the meal, but were nowhere to be seen after the food was served. The server was nice asking about dessert and during the quick payment and thanked us for coming. The Farmer Jon burger my friend ordered was pretty good, but it had way too much going on; too many sauces and toppings that kind of ended up muddled in the end. You definitely couldn't taste the beer or Crown Royal in the sauce and sauteed onions, respectively, though. Definitely tasty, just not outstanding. The shoestring fries still had skins on and were good. It was $17. The Rocket Roasted Beet was very, very dissapointing, though. When it was first brought out, there were no beets. When I brought it to the server's attention, he started using a fork to dig through it to look for them and ended up bringing it back with a few pathetic beets on it and apologizing. The beets were not roasted well; they were barely cooked. The lettuce (a spring mix I subbed) was bitter, tough, cut way too big and even had the butt ends of the lettuce in it! The goat cheese was good, though, but it definitely did not save it. I barely ate half of it. For $18 without protein, it was definitely overpriced, even if it was good. We didn't bother with dessert, since it was just generic fare and most places like this aren't really great for dessert anyway. So, while the place was nice and the service was ok, the fact that my salad was made wrong and the burger was just ok, I doubt I'd return. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it for themselves though. read more

On October 19th we took my sister and her husband to Brazen Hall. The drinks came, the food was ordered - a bit slowly, but we were not alarmed. The food then took 2 HOURS to come, and when it did, the server brought 3 entrees..and then disappeared. We had to flag her down to get the 4th entree. The food, when it finally came, was...ok. Okay, consider me a sucker for any place that serves smoked meat and beer they brew onsite. When my cousins told me about this place in Winnipeg it was an easy decision as to where we would be heading for lunch on Saturday... My aforementioned cousins are big fans of Brazen Hall and for good reason. They poured the Kool Aid on this place and it lived up to expectations. It's a very cool spot, with a modern, rustic beer hall type vibe to it. Very relaxing and comfortable (and very cool restrooms, as odd as that is to say). The ladies ordered Caesars to drink (OMG... that Brazen Bacon) and us guys perused the beer menu. My cuz went with the Steel Cut Blonde Ale (which I stole several sips of and was delicious and light) and I went with the seasonal Ballsy Bastard Dark Saison, the beer they had brewed for the Festival Du Voyager (which we happened to be in town for). I had a couple of the 20 oz. steins... fantastic beer. For starters we tried the Burnt Ends (pretty damn good, but again I am forever spoiled by having burnt ends for three days straight in Kansas City) and the Babang Shrimp (I am honestly a bit indifferent on shrimp, but these were amazing). Two at our table opted for the Grilled Cheese for a main (both loved it but both agreed they were overdone and and the bread was hard to bite through) and myself and Trish opted for the Krakow Burger, which apparently won best burger in Winnipeg or something. It was good, but a bit too busy for my liking. I actually just cut and paste this from the online menu: SCALLION POTATO BUN, BACON PEACH KETCHUP, PARSLEY CHIVE SOUR CREAM, POTATO VODKA AIOLI, CHEESE SAUCE, PICKLED RED CABBAGE, BRAZEN BEEF PATTY, CRISPY POTATO STICKS, SERVED WITH HOUSE CUT FRIES AND THE FAMOUS PURPLE HABANERO HORSERADISH. Again, tasty but just a bit too much going on for my likling. I find when you get that many toppings on anything you don't identify any one thing, it just becomes a jumble of flavors. Their fries though are frigging PERFECT and abundant. They absolutely nailed their fries. I wish this spot was in Edmonton as I would love to explore the menu more. Having seen some pics of the restaurant, I booked a table for 10 people and was assured we'd still be able to have tables jointed together to allow all of us to sit together within the main room by the fireplace, where we can enjoy the ambiance, and NOT the private room where it was more secluded from the rest of the restaurant. The man I spoke to sounded reassuring. Instead, when I arrived expecting to see a table for us in the main room, by the fire place as discussed, (which by the way at the time was very possible as it wasn't busy) they led me to their private room at the back, which became too big anyways as only 8 ppl showed up. The food was great but it felt long till we got it, we were waiting for our appy's and for some reason it arrived at the same time as our main course. Other than that, I would probably still go back but this time the experience was a 3/5 for me. read more

Extremely disappointed! Been here once before, ordered the "bacon mac & cheese" and received mac and cheese without any bacon at all, see first pic. When we pointed this out to the server, she stated it was "in the sauce," wtf does that even mean? It's misleading to have bacon mac and cheese and not receive any in your order, especially when there is no description on the menu. I've been here once before - see the third pic - and it clearly shows bacon bits in the bacon mac & cheese. To top this off, I was up charged $1 on my pork belly, see receipt. To their credit, they grudgingly fixed the price when we pointed it out. However, you need to be attentive, as service was evidently lacking. For instance, when we asked for our bill, our server took 15mins to chat with her friend in the table behind us, prior to giving our bill. We are not likely to return here anytime soon! read more

I'm not a fan. The burger that each of us had was well-made and tasted great. The restaurant definitely had great decor and it's open design made it very comfortable. But that is about where the positive comments end. My wife was disgusted by the bathroom and the fact that there were urinals with men standing at them as they walked in. The concept of a unisex bathroom is forward thinking, but it's design is not. Restaurants should not serve sodas from the can. I can get that at home. I don't go to a restaurant so I can have this. Fountain drinks at restaurants are supposed to come from the machine that makes them fresh. Anybody could tell you that there is a distinct difference between a fountain soda and one from the can. Another black mark. Yet another issue that we had was the probably slow service. The restaurant was not packed and we went on a Tuesday night last week. We probably waited a solid 30 to 40 minutes before our food arrived. I'm sure they think it's charming, but eating off of the metal tray is more reminiscent of having a cheap lunch during my elementary school years. No thanks. Bring me a plate. If this place wishes to be in business a long time they'll need to address these issues. read more

Decor: Very cool. Has a very updated new feel to it. Very "instagrammable" as per someone I overheard. Bathroom: Interesting concept . You can pick a stall next to your girlfriend or wife. And then you get to wash your hands straight from the pipe! Menu: Ugh, not overly impressed. The porchetta cubano was well received. As was the smash steak. However, negative reviews on the pizzaz pop , the pretzel. The fries were a bit dull. Decent salads. Grilled cheese with bacon: it was okay. I think I was expecting a bit more after the fancy reno. Also, they ran out of prime rib the evening we were there, which was disappointing. I really enjoyed the blonde ale however Service: Decent. Very nice. A little green behind the ears.
