Peral Couscous Salad with blackened chicken

The waitress was great. Very personable and attentive. The ambiance was upbeat with music playing and loud enough for bop to it but low enough to have a conversation. The salad was light but filling and packed with flavors.

Amazing spot on a sunny day because the patio is huge and always busy. I ordered a curry rice with prawns and the taste was good, but the rice could be better.

Amazing. Sexy. Hygge. Relevant. Fun music. Hockey on TV. Great menu options. Friendly staff. Loved it.

I've been to LOCAL twice and sadly both times the service was EXTREMELY slow and I don't think I'll be going to this restaurant again. At the door it says they open at 10am on weekends, we got there at 10:20am. The restaurant was open but we weren't allowed in because they were waiting for their servers to come in. They had empty tables and had multiple people waiting in line outside. They could have at least let us take a seat and offer some water. We were finally seated after 30 mins (this whole time those tables were empty.) We still had to wait 20 mins for the server to come take our order. Then after another 30 mins of wait our food finally came. Nobody came to check on us after the food was served. The food & drinks are good but is it worth the wait? No. Both times when we visited this restaurant, it looked like they had so many empty tables and we thought we were going to get seated & served right away. It was such a disappointing experience.

We were lucky to get a seat right in front of the tv to watch a Canuck's playoff game after work during the 3rd period. The room was buzzing with Canucks fans. We ordered nachos which were made perfectly and a refreshing sassy sangria crush. Although it was busy, the service did not disappoint. We enjoyed our time here so much that we came back a couple days later for the 2 for 1 Local burger special. Again, it was busy and service was top notch.

    Shrimp, tempura, super delicious!

Started with the hostess, gave us a choice of tables or the bar. Far prefer a choice than being seated where 'they' want. Thank you! Nice room, music was appropriate, for a tourist place feels very down home. Guys behind the bar were super friendly, very accommodating!!! Nice selection of draft here, we were encouraged to try a few, before we made a decision....nice! Thank you! Only had a bunch of appetizers, but they were all delicious ! The standouts were the the shrimp dumplings and the (not what you expect) shrimp tempura, Thank you! Definately a repeat !

The minute and I walked in I knew everything was gonna be better. Had a really rough day at work, and I just wanted to unleash and unravel from the day....I knew the only thing that could make my day right would be to have a delicious cocktail. He gently put the napkin down and i immediately knew my day was about to change. My day went from bleak to on fleek. Not one napkin was dampened in my experience... to know I wasn't a fan of a wet napkin, well done. I could not imagine the attention he gives to anyone else, but if you know Nick, you know he's quick.

This place need no recommendations. Centrally located with extra amazing staff all the time who are ready to take you in for a joyful fun time. Seating availability can be tricky on the weekends as it gets packed very quick. Wait is worth it though. Interior is great and have high energy vibes. Outside patio is nothing fancy rather just table chairs on the tiled floor outside. Of course there are heaters n it's not covered from top. Variety of alcohol to try and some mock tails available. Food is quick to be delivered to ur table . Yummy loaded nachos and tofu with rice were too yummy. U could smell the flavours used to cook it.

The server could have been more attentive. The food was good not stellar. The Buffalo Chicken dip starter is newer to the menu. It offered crispy chicken skin an apparent Canadian attraction. Tortilla chips and celery included too. I thought the Buffalo dip could be a little spicier. We also ordered the nachos. Pretty standard drizzled with sour cream they just do it differently. This is art of a chain and we were asked for feedback on the food and provided it. Beers on tap seemed to be a good variety though the lager taps were not working today. Too bad for us. Our server was not attentive and rarely checked in.

Their "brunch burger" is a major missed opportunity though... this really should have a fried egg on it. You could possibly add an egg from the ala carte section of the menu, but those cost $3, so you'd be looking at $27 for a burger and a half a cup of fried potatoes. That's insanely expensive. Currently the brunch burger has two small patties which have a tendency to overcook and become dry. My patties were well-done despite me asking for medium - don't even ask if the kitchen can't deliver. Not sure what makes that a brunch burger, but it would be much better if those two patties were combined into one, and a fried egg was added, while staying below a $24 price point expensive burgers in Vancouver. Other restaurants can do it.... Oh, the other disappointing thing is that the card reader defaults to tips at 18, 25, and 28%. Not cool - we already pay servers high wages in BC, tipping should be 10% if not eliminated altogether. 28%? No thanks!

We arrived without a reservation but it wasn't needed as this place is huge and had quite a few tables available. We were seated quickly at a nice booth and proceeded to place our order. I had the Tuna Niçoise Salad and my friend had the Tuna Poke Bowl. I was actually torn between these two options so when the food arrived, we both tried each other's meal to see how the two compared. They were both really good but I really enjoyed my salad and much preferred it over the poke bowl. Ironically, the tuna in the poke bowl was much better seasoned than the tuna in the salad, but I just really loved all the other ingredients in the salad more. I think a sprinkle of some flaked salt would have made the salad perfect but there were a few salty components like the olives, to help offset the almost bland flavour of the tuna. It had a perfect sear and I loved the crust on it. The salad itself had a very nice light dressing on it, which surprisingly, I really liked. I'm not normally a fan of salad dressing but this one was really tasty. The restaurant was busy but not at capacity so even though there were a lot of people talking, it wasn't too loud so we could still have a conversation without having to shout at each other. Overall, I would absolutely return and order this dish again and would also order the poke bowl on a future visit.
