I had always passed by Local 186. This time I stopped and was glad I did. Local is known for its burgers and I ordered the French. The brioche bun was good with the Gruyère cheese although there were more onions than I needed. Service was quick so quick they delivered my meal to another table before delivering it to me. On a nice night the outside dining ambiance cannot be beat.

    Awesome patio over commercial street

Very happy with our dinner from Local 186. Arrived just before 8 on a Saturday night and our party of 3 was seated within 20 minutes. We lucked out and were seated at an awesome table upstairs overlooking Commercial Street. Perfect spot for people watching and to observe the colors changing in the sunset sky's we sipped our pre-dinner cocktails. We'd had a large lunch so my husband and I each ordered a light meal - lobster bisque for him; clam "chowder" for me. Our server explained that the chowder is in quotations is because there's no dairy in the dish, hence it's not a traditional chowder. Purists might not like it; I thought it tasted fantastic. Flavorful with a nice, heaping topping of crispy bacon. My husband enjoyed his lobster bisque, too. My daughter *raved* about the southern BLT. Perhaps we'll return for a burger another day; they certainly sounded great. Local 186 hit all the marks for us tonight! Recommend!

    The heavenly scrumptious lobster roll

The food was beyond amazing. We had their beet salad and lobster roll. The lobster was fresh and one of the best we ever had. Not overkilled in mayo. The beet salad was just as fresh and perfect. Will recommend this place and come back again.

    Smoked bluefish salad

Bluefish salad was delicious but portion was small...two peach slivers and a single fingerling potato? Fried chicken sandwich texture was undercooked and slimy. On the bright side, the server was fun and sassy, and the iron floral fence and outdoor space is wonderful.

Wonderful atmosphere fiendly waiter. Good stout and ordered the largest mussels I ever saw. Oysters were very good and guacamole with chips and onion strings. We would definitely go back.

    Fish and Chips

We had the burger, fish and chips and bluefish salad. The food is delicious. Burger was cooked to perfection as we wanted medium rare. The fish and chips were light and flaky. Fries are the thin shoe string type. Their tap water however smelled funky like effluent. The location is great and you get a great view from the porch.

Covered porch, ven on a sprinkle Saturday, is a lovely place for a burger.

The local 186 only issue is in ratios. After a tasty drink order the wive and I ordered an appetizer while we waited for the kids to show. We were seated in the covered porch area and could peruse the street in a lovely location and view. My negroni version had capara, which imparted a bitter taste that was unwanted. The pulled pork tostada was very tasted, however this dishes "tostada" was a few nachos. The dish needed more of these crunchy corn chips to scoop up the delishes pork mixture. We then got the beet sakad for the table to try. another ratio miscalculation. Not enough lettuce which turned the beets, tasty as thet were, into more a side vegetable dish. We each ordered burgers. My medium rare was more medium. The other 3 were order medium and were more medium well. There were still very tasty burgers and came with above average quality fries. Our waiter was Kelly kelly, who was very attentive and even took the initiative to refill the girls mocktails. His attentiveness and the lovely location and view move this 3.0 rating to a 3.5 and I'll round up knowing if you want a burger in p-town this is your go to.

    Tandoori chicken salad

This was my first return to Local 186 this year, and it was definitely a solid meal. On this visit, I dined with 6 friends, and all seems to enjoy their experience--particularly those who had burgers; they all loved them. Tony said that the turkey burger was a standout--particularly for those trying to avoid red meat--as their version was super tender and tasty unlike the dry turkey burgers that many restaurants serve. Another stand out on this visit was the Pork Chop Poutine, which my friend Rolfe ordered. Wow! It was huge and yummy! On this visit, I was not in the mood for a heavy meal, as I had eaten a lot for lunch. Therefore, I ordered a salad and soup. Both were less than stellar, which leads me to guess that you should only visit 186 if you are ready to chow down big time! For example, the Tandoori Chicken--it had a lot of creamy dressing, but it was simply flavorless. Plus, the amount of chicken on top was super skimpy. Similarly, the Fish Soup was almost $20 and was totally lacking in flavor. I guess I learned my lesson on what to order at 186 since last time I got a burger and was blown away! I'll definitely be back, but only for a burger.
