Honestly, the primary reason Jamie W and I were drawn to this bar was the fact that it wasn't on the main drag of Commercial Street, a congestion nightmare on a balmy Friday evening when P-Town was at full capacity. You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). We sat near the fireplace and just let the smooth libations and mellow dudes give us the P-Town karma. We had a good time here. The cocktails were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was just fun. Loved the fire pit and all the decorations. It seemed like the bartender was having a bad day but we overlooked that. We will return next time we are in the area. read more

You definitely have an opportunity to get wrecked at the shipwreck and that may be all you need. This lounge has an upscale feel with a fire pit and some awesome outside seating. The drinks were decent and it is a fun place to gossip. You do have to walk up a hill to get there but you certainly can roll down it with the right beverages when returning. read more

My friends and I visited Shipwreck Lounge on our last night in Provincetown. It was a cold night, but they have a single fire pit outside that another group was at so we sat in the comfortable wicker patio set nearby instead. The outdoor patio has a really nice vibe, warm lighting, and some cocktail tables. We ordered drinks inside. There's a $25 credit card minimum, which is an outrageous amount (I've seen $10, which is legally compliant and more realistic), but given that one drink costs $12-$13, it's not too hard to hit that minimum. I ordered a rum punch -- well made, tasty, and with a paper straw, too. Bartender was alert, friendly, and easygoing. The restrooms are on the lower level and very clean. Unfortunately despite a great atmosphere and lovely decor it appears that I'd been taken advantage of by a bartender. After ordering two vodka sodas for something like 40 dollars, I went on my way... returned home and found a few days later that an exorbitant tip of over 50% had been added to my receipt which I most definitely did not issue myself. Had I not received an alert from my bank (because the tip was so ridiculously high it came off as suspicious..and that, for two drinks I simply ordered and walked away with, no service to speak of) I wouldn't have known at all that they took such liberties with their customers. Regardless of who owns the establishment, a martini served in plastic cups is an automatic bad review. We just had the most enjoyable evening at Shipwreck Lounge. Our server at the bar, who was also the face of hospitality, customer service, and anything else someone asked for was second to none. I think his name is Daniel. Anyone who came in contact with him was greeted with a smile, and a great smile at that. We spent a few hours enjoying our drinks and talking with him. Went to the Shipwreck Lounge on two different nights. The bartender Amanda was very kind and personable. She even remembered me from the first time I went although it was days apart. The Customer Service was amazing, the drinks tasted awesome. Highly recommend this place to those visiting P-Town :) The setting was also very relaxing + good music. read more

The ambiance is great....you can sit by the fireplace in a room that resembles someone's home...cozy, warm, comfy....or....sit outside on the patio by the roaring live fire pits ....Overall nice setting and great seating areas. The cocktails were just OK...not great. My BF got the white sangria and it tasted BLAH !! :-( The wine tasted cheap, no fruity notes to it..... I came here with friends during the summer and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Jacob made our drinks and they were ok. I couldn't find Marly but the other cat, Dylan, was right next to my seat which was absolutely wonderful - he was a super friendly and calm cat you could pet while hanging out. The people who came here that night were also friendly and sweet and the place in general was comfortable with multiple places to sit and chill. Ultimately I came here to have a good drink with friends and though the atmosphere was wonderful I wish the drinks were better to justify a higher rating. read more

Shipwreck is my favorite bar in PTown. The ambiance, atmosphere and aesthetic is beautiful. Walking into Shipwreck feels like you are walking into a living room for a house party. I always feel a chill vibe anytime I stop by. The outside area has a bar, sofa lounging areas and ample seating around a fire pit. Every bartender has been sweet, funny and accommodating. Super cool Ambiance - and a very jazzy feel! One of the most upscale and at the same time very friendly bars in PTown. The seating area is split into sections since it is part of the very posh Brass Key resort (very impressive resort!). At the main entrance from Carver St, the first bar is rather small and has few bar stools. The second bar is further along closer to the fire pit. I didn't venture into every corner as if I was doing a site survey because I was ready for a drink. And boy do they make really good drinks! Right on flavors, worth every dollar you spend. So glad I got to enjoy S&M - an out of this world concoction - a flavor so unique, you can easily get hooked. The difference maker in the drink had to be the white cranberry. What a drink! Given the beautiful summer & the heat that came along with it, I was planning on sticking with beer after one cocktail. But this place, the subtle music, the fire in the backdrop, allowed me to try another - the Ginger Martini - and again, so glad I tried it. Just the right proportion of liquors and mixers - simply perfect. I wish I was more of an extrovert to ask more questions about who is the mixologist, in charge of the menu and such. But - I am saving the excitement for the next season. Highly recommended if you are going next door to the Piano bar (Porchside bar) to hear Doug or Billy. This is one of the friendliest places in Provincetown - Marly is incredibly welcoming and greats all the patrons with a head rub. The humans at the bar are great too - and are probably your best bet to get a drink - Marly doesn't have opposable thumbs. read more

I love the Shipwreck for a drink or two after dinner but prior to going out dancing. The bartenders are consistently friendly and the drinks are well made. The vibe is very much like being in someone's living room. It's dim but not too dark, with comfy furniture casually arranged around the space. I was there over New Year's, and a roaring fire and a twinkling Christmas tree just added to the ambience. I agree with a previous reviewer that it empties out early, with most of the crowd streaming over to the A-House to dance. I look forward to checking out their patio space next summer. read more

My fiancé and I ended our night out last night at the shipwreck lounge and we were so happy that we did! The atmosphere is awesome, the outdoor portion of the bar has a fire pit as well as these oversized couch nooks. The drinks were tasty, I had the cucumber martini and my fiancé got a martini that had fireball in it. Our bartender Gary was fantastic!! We actually went back the next night and although it was a little too chilly to hang out outside the whole night, we found a comfortable place inside next to the fire. I landed on four stars... mainly because I has such a great time late on the 4th of July. I also had quite a bit to drink that night, so everything seems wonderful to me when I am in that state of mind! A few days earlier, we stopped by and it was crazy crowded, with little urgency demonstrated by the bartending staff... so I got a little impatient. Cozy bar in Provincetown, MA. We came here for some beers before heading out on the town. They have TVs lining the walls playing music videos and concerts (Madonna especially). They also have a cute little resident cat laying around. Staff is very friendly and even gave me a free tank top for telling them I loved the place. It's just a great combo of beer, Madonna, and men that like Madonna. Great place for a gal and her gay friends. I had a great time! read more

I'm not much of a "bar person" normally, but these guys are a class act. The first thing you need to know is it's a very "warm bar"... not dark and depressing like some other places. The staff is friendly and there is a large outdoor area with a water fountain and glass fire pit. Drinks are about average priced, but these guys are a class act that's hard to beat.
