This ised to be a fun, one of a kind bar, but new owners have taken over. There used to be videos playing with the music - if you wanted to dance you could along with Beyonce or Madonna. The music was oroginal mixes by a resident dj. Now, they put logos in all of rhe screens and play generic music you can find anywhere. What a disappointment. Went to Ptown for a bachelorette but when looking for a place to go we kept getting recommended to this bar so we went but it was empty yet the bartenders paid us no attention. I wish I had a dollar for every time I was at the Wave Bar, I'd be rich! The Wave is one of the few places in town where there's never a cover, and always decent music playing, so I'm there alot. The space itself is great. Lots of video walls, a place to dance, and the very cool outdoor area. It's so nice on a hot summer night to get a drink, then go out on the patio and sit out there after a long day at the beach or whatever you're been up to in Ptown. But the main reason to go are for the music videos by Tom Yaz. This guy has it going on. From what I am told he has been doing playing videos for a long time, and it shows by his selection. He's just simply amazing. He knows exactly what people want to hear and plays it accordingly. Whether it's top 40, dance music, show tunes, and everything in between. Tom will play it. I'm always amazed at what he will play.. and WHERE he gets those videos from (and many of them are video remixes he's done himself.. awesome!) As someone who grew up on MTV, back when they actually played music videos, I LOVE this about the Wave. I always see videos that I have not seen in years. It's always a treat to see what will get played. I'm always amazed. Always. So what are you waiting for? It's time to go to the wave.. read more

As another reviewer mentioned, the Wave Bar (along with the Paramount club next door) is infested with straight women and bachelorette parties. This gets very annoying after 5 minutes and ruins the fun for everyone there. Yes, they love gays, but don't understand that gays aren't going to p-town to socialize and dance with straight women all night in a gay bar. If you catch the Wave Bar on a night they aren't there, it can be a very fun time. The bartenders are nice and Tom Yaz never disappoints. read more

One of my favorite places in Provincetown.... It is a video bar to rival Club Cafe... there is an inside bar with a HUGE video screen, and then you can venture out to the patio on the beach, which features a pool that is lit at night... Good drinks, hot men,.... great view All worth it! read more

Amidst the craziness that comes along with P-Town, one can only wish there is a space to breathe and take it easy. Here comes in the Wave Bar. Not after 7pm though. Only before that. We happened to be there on a Saturday around 2pm or so. It was nice and quiet. Great Pool area overlooking the ocean. A few people occupied the tables around the pool and were generally quiet. Great video bar with a dance floor which was absolutely empty but the music was on with the accompanied videos on the screens. Just what I could ask for. If I wasn't too tired, I would have checked the DJ booth and requested songs. But it was too early and I was happy to go with the flow. We sat right next to the bar so that we could get our own drinks and didn't have to bother the only guy walking around the pool taking the drinks' orders. It didn't work out quite like that. It was so not busy around the pool at that time, that the solo pool boy did come by a few times to check on us. No biggie. All in all a pleasant experience given that we were totally looking for a place which wasn't over crowded or too loud - for a change - in P-Town. And we got just what we wanted. The drinks were good - the usual stuff, the standard PTown fare, nothing out of this world. Will definitely have to come back and see how the place is transformed during peak hours. read more

POOL!!!!!!!!! The server/bartender was friendly, but he was not attentive for our table at all. While I was there he didn't come over once, but rather spent his time for those on the lounge chairs or at the bar itself. Us ladies (maybe that was the issue) under the umbrella wanted some service too! The pool looked so inviting though, I wanted to strip down to my bra and undies and jump right in, but thought that would be inappropriate... maybe next time I'll drink more and then I'll think it's a grand idea. read more

What a way to screw patrons. $37 for two drinks? Bartender says my partner has been asking for doubles all night. I had not asked for a double on this particular order nor did he know who the drink was going too. My partner had not ordered any drinks that evening. Drinks had been purchased by myself or others in our party. It is reasonable to assume that the bartender would ask if the drink is a double when ordering. When I called the bartender out he says he will give me a free drink. Drink else where, dont buy drinks here they take advantage of intoxicated guests. read more

I love the Wave Bar. We make it a point to go there each time we're in P-Town. The bartenders are friendly, the music is generally awesome, and the crowd is fun and energetic. I love the wave and the paramount when they aren't overtaken by bachelorettes. Last time my wife and I were there. We were sitting outside at one of the tables and there was some of the bachelorette's man friends milling about. My wife and I kissed and then this straight guy walked up to the table and said very creepily "ohh my god, please do that again, it was so hot" I gave him an earful about how were were not there to give him stored fantasies for his spank sessions later on. read more

Love the Karaoke on Wednesday night during bear week. It seems the Town talent comes out as there are not many shows mid-week. So its NOT just a bunch of drunk 18 year olds who could not possibly carry a tune (even if they WERE sober!) It's a nice time...a CROWDED with hot men nice time. Ok, I'm giving this place 5 stars. I stayed in Ptown for 5 nights and went to every place in town and this place has the best music. The DJ was awesome can't remember his name but good at reading the audience. Robyn, En Vogue, Janet, Dua Lipa, Lorde was all amazing. The drinks were the usual basic bitch bar drinks but didn't go there for a proper cocktail. Went for good dance music. read more

Gets pretty crowded and sometimes hard to move (same as everywhere else) the difference here is that the customers and staff are actually FRIENDLY. Great place to go with friends and have a fun time. it appears that this bar is part of another bar which is listed here separately: had a terrible time here. Came here with my buddy and we sat outside during the sunny afternoon. There was one waiter with a speedo taking drink orders. The bar tender was rude and unwelcoming. Ordered a couple of drinks and were expensive and on the weak side. LIquor is water down. Am sure of it. Hope this place survives against all the bigger bars. For being on the busiest strip, their service could be better. After all, tourists are the reason they exist. From the looks of it, I'm not the only reviewer who noticed how bad their service and drinks are. Me, I visit Provincetown at least once per year. Now I know why I never stopped by in this bar before. The pictures here show everyone dancing and having a good time. The absolutely rudest staff I have ever experienced. My friend ordered a drink and I told the bartender I wanted to try it before I order the same thing and he said "that's annoying" with an attitude and when we asked why he said "because then I have to make another one".
