This is a Ptown bar you do not want to miss. They know how to make drinks here and if you want to swallow something big Monkey offers enormous concoctions. Staff are always pleasant and give the bar a neighborhood feel. There is also a nod to my hometown of Wilton Manors with a drink named after the city. For the enormous concoctions you do pay NYC prices so bring someone with an enormous wallet.

We were blown away with how great everything was. We were expecting a dive bar, but it was very nice and modern restaurant and bar. I was skeptical of Thai food in Ptown because I grew up with great food at my family's Chinese restaurant. Food was so delicious and honestly the best Thai food I've ever had. We had the Thai Tuna Tartare, House Pad Thai, and the Thai Peanut Chicken. My dad makes a pretty good Pad Thai, but the House Pad Thai blows his out of the water. Shhh! Don't tell him! There were chunks of beef that fell apart, not the typical thinly sliced flank steak. The calamari were also super tender, not rubbery at all. Absolutely delicious and great portion sizes. The food also came out really quick, which is a sign of a great Asian restaurant. We also got Thai Tea and the double espresso martini and they were great as well. My fiancée said the espresso martini was the best he ever had, beating out our favorite spot back home. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I have been coming to The Monkey bar for the last 6 years Johnny and David completely remodeled during covid and it is gorgeous! The martinis are the best in town and Johnny's food is superb. The crispy shrimp dumplings are my favorite and the curry is fantastic. We tried several dishes tonight and loved every one. The food is always cooked fresh to order with the best possible ingredients. This is the place to go in Ptown. The bears know this, everyone else needs to check it out.

I have been coming to the Monkey Bar for many years now. Therefore this review is based on the many times I've been here (approx 10 times). When I come to Ptown to visit, I stay at my uncles house a few blocks from the Monkey Bar. The bar happens to be on the way to the house after sightseeing and walking around downtown/Commercial Street so you know it's our last stop, every time, all the time! And it never disappoints. This cute, small yet cozy bar welcomes you with open arms. Walk they the red doors and you will find what you need, the bar! Smiling faces taking your drink orders and food as well. A great selection from their sushi bar compliments of Jhonny Tai Bistro. Form sushi to chicken lettuce wraps, fried calamari and my favorite Crispy Thai Shrimp Rolls! Safe to say Monkey bar is a must! You might find Jhonny walking around, make sure you say hi. I got warn you though, once you step into the Monkey Bar, you might not leave until they close (meaning until you get kicked out) but no worries, you can do it all over again next day!

You might say I'm "bananas" for the Monkey Bar! Or, more appropriately, I'm "nuts" about the place! Came here numerous times during my week in Ptown and was never disappointed. Manny the bartender is a national treasure. He got my friends and I turned on to the Peanut Butter martini that had a nut-rimmed glass. Always a friendly crowd, excellent drinks and outstanding service from the friendliest bartender in town. You'll go "ape" over The Monkey Bar! (Sorry for all the bad puns. I clearly have a problem)

You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). We sat near the fireplace and just let the smooth libations and mellow dudes give us the P-Town karma. Next, we shared the Cape Cod Fish Fry and it was perfect. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp but not greasy. It was possibly the best mixed fried seafood plate I've had so far. I also had a glass of white wine, which was good. The bartender was attentive and nice. The interior was cool and cozy. I would definitely return to this place.

EXTREMELY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE WITH THE WAITER!…read more This took place around 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 4. Our group consisted of three couples dining together. At the end of the meal, we asked if the bill could be split into thirds. Our waiter, Martin P., told us that he would not split the check and instead instructed us to write down exactly what each person ordered so that he could charge us separately. Although no other restaurant we visited in Provincetown required us to do this, we followed his instructions and listed our individual items. When Martin returned, he was visibly upset and stated that our payments were approximately $70 short. There was confusion because our group was trying to determine who had already paid, who had not, and whether something had been missed in the calculations. I even asked whether we were expected to calculate individual tax amounts ourselves, as no one knew what tax would be for each separate charge. Rather than calmly helping us resolve the discrepancy, Martin began yelling at our group. At one point he stated, "If I don't get $70, I am going to charge one of the credit cards that I have." This immediately concerned us. We were not refusing to pay. We were actively trying to understand where the discrepancy occurred and make sure the restaurant received the full amount owed. To resolve the issue, one of my friends and I went with Martin into a back room to review the charges. After reviewing everything, my friend agreed to pay the remaining balance immediately. The payment was processed and the bill was fully paid. At that point I was trying to calm the situation and bring it to a close. Instead, Martin became even more agitated and began yelling profanities at us. He shouted, "Get the f*** out of my restaurant! It's people like you why we don't split checks! You all need to get the f*** out now!" Other people started noticing this go down. We were stunned. The bill had been paid. Nobody was attempting to leave without paying. We were simply trying to resolve a billing issue after following the waiter's instructions. As we were leaving, my wife later told me that Martin placed his HAND ON HER BACK and guided her toward the exit. While it was not forceful, it felt unnecessary and added to an already hostile and intimidating experience. What happened next is why I ultimately decided to write this review. A few days later, while walking through Provincetown looking for a place to have lunch, our group passed The Mayflower Food & Drink and noticed Martin working there. When he saw us, he deliberately tapped on the glass to get our attention. After making eye contact, he made a hand gesture across his neck and pointed for us to leave and keep walking. The original incident had already ended. The bill had been paid. Yet days later he still felt the need to single out our group and signal that we were unwelcome. Had this simply been confusion over a split check, I would not be writing this review. Billing mistakes happen. What I cannot overlook is being threatened with unauthorized credit card charges, being screamed at with profanity while attempting to resolve the issue, being ordered out after the bill had been paid, Martin touching my wife, and then encountering the same employee days later making a gesture directed at our group from another restaurant. This experience was troubling enough that I believe others should be aware of it.
