Fun place to hit up after a long day, get a drink and chat with others that are in the same things.

You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). We sat near the fireplace and just let the smooth libations and mellow dudes give us the P-Town karma. I wish I had a dollar for every time I was at the Wave Bar, I'd be rich! The Wave is one of the few…read moreplaces in town where there's never a cover, and always decent music playing, so I'm there alot. The space itself is great. Lots of video walls, a place to dance, and the very cool outdoor area. It's so nice on a hot summer night to get a drink, then go out on the patio and sit out there after a long day at the beach or whatever you're been up to in Ptown. But the main reason to go are for the music videos by Tom Yaz. This guy has it going on. From what I am told he has been doing playing videos for a long time, and it shows by his selection. He's just simply amazing. He knows exactly what people want to hear and plays it accordingly. Whether it's top 40, dance music, show tunes, and everything in between. Tom will play it. I'm always amazed at what he will play.. and WHERE he gets those videos from (and many of them are video remixes he's done himself.. awesome!) As someone who grew up on MTV, back when they actually played music videos, I LOVE this about the Wave. I always see videos that I have not seen in years. It's always a treat to see what will get played. I'm always amazed. Always. So what are you waiting for? It's time to go to the wave..

For some wishful reason, I thought it was a full-out gay bar, but no, when we heard the booming voice of the drunken slattern at the bar, we knew it was a place that welcomed anybody and everybody. Nothing wrong with that but some show tunes would've been nice. We soon realized P-Town doesn't really have straight bars, just different flavors of gay ones. The bartender was friendly, but the vibe was off for us. We weren't into pool or ping-pong but still made time for a couple of their signature cocktails in paper cups, the $16 Margarita for Jamie and the $14 Blue Hawaiian for me (Photo 2). They were on the watery side, but hey, the evening was young.
