Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. The view is excellent with a great vantage point of the Boston City sky line, atmosphere is relaxed yet fun, and staff is friendly. I had the fish tacos which were delicious and my boyfriend had the turkey club which was satisfying. Our server, Theresa, was more than accommodating and recommended the fish tacos which were exceptional. I would highly recommend stopping here for a drink and a meal when I'm the area. read more

The first time my wife got me a clam roll, it had 3 bellies and all strips for $17. And today Im here for her birthday dinner with friends. I ordered the lobster bisque and it says it's topped with lobster meat....It didn't. I asked the waitress about it. She said it's inside. I took the spoon and shoveled around for chunks of lobster meat and nothing. She said I don't know why it says that and then walks away. read more

After seeing the Yelp reviews had turned in favor of the new management we stopped in Sunday evening after the beach around 5:15. The hostess predicted 45 minutes and we were in under 30. Not unreasonable for a gorgeous view on the water. We had the steamers to start which we're delicious and fresh. For entrees we had the lobster BLT and lobster roll, both $25. The roll had a ton of lobster meat on it and a side cup of additional meat- it would appear they are weighing in the kitchen which seems like a good idea since I see people complain about this on yelp often. My daughter had chicken fingers which were kitchen made and tasty. Fries were pretty good. Cole slaw had kale in it which I enjoyed but purists would probably not. We rounded out the meal with two perfect sam summers that were icy cold... and a chocolate milk which I've been told was good. Other details- parking can be challenging but we had good luck. Ample areas to wait for a table. Bottom floor is a bar which was closed this evening. Seating and food on top two floors with amazing views of the Harbor, Marina and Boston. Attentive staff on all 3 floors and the manager/owner rounding to check in on our experience. The evening sun can be challenging due to the heat in the sun. We look forward to stopping in again soon! although i love this restaurant and have been coming here for years i won't be back after the incident i saw this weekend and the lack of professionalism the employees displayed. a waitress ran aggressively past my table shouting to a group of people who moved an unoccupied small table to theirs for a pregnant woman and her autistic young girl. i watched her scream in the pregnant woman's face attempting to remove the table from literally underneath them. she screamed so loud and was so upsetting she scared the little girl into tears. the waitress refused to give the woman the general managers name or any type of info and treated these customers with the utmost disrespect i have ever seen in a restaurant setting like this. i will not be returning and as a restaurant owner and manager i would be embarrassed and would never allow someone like that to represent my business. smh read more

The new owner/mgt is just what this place needed. We want you to succeed! Local have opened up the second floor, great dining area. Sat out on the third floor deck and watched the sun go down and a lightning storm approach. WOW! It was Tuesday night and not busy on the third floor, 2nd floor seemed to have quite a few diners. Greeted at the door. Elevator and stairs. We had great service. Lobster Roll was full of meat. Fish and chips was good as was the fish sandwich. Realistic prices (summer, beach, overhead). Limited menu is a smart move. The last two owners couldn't get it right. I hope the Local is around for a long time. read more

this place was awesome!!!! We spent the day at nantasket beach and came here after. We sat on the third floor right on the water. Outside was full so we sat at the bar. We had the best bartender named Matt. Everything was super quick and delicious. Drinks and food were so so good. He was busy making drinks but made sure we were on his top list of priorities. We had a group of 6 and it was fairly inexpensive only $140 with drinks and all. We had a very nice time. We live an hour away and will definitely be returning just to come here. read more

As someone who lives in the area, I come into Local often for dinner. Other than some slow service, I've always had great food and a wonderful, pleasant time. Up until last night (Friday) where I was appalled at how I was treated. My friend, my mother, and I, stopped by Local for a night cap, just to maybe dance a little and grab a beer. After getting our ID's checked at the door by what appeared to be a bouncer, accompanied by two local police officers, we headed to the second floor to get a drink. I ordered 3 waters and one bud light, and to my surprise, the bartender asked for my ID again (I am 25 years old and was with my 25-year old friend and 52-year old mother). After inspecting my MA license, the bartender shook his head no and handed me back my ID. I asked him what the problem was, because I have never had my state ID turned down...ever. In the rudest way possible, he said he was an "expert" on IDs and mine was definitely fake and he would not be serving me and I should leave. I asked if it would help if I brought one of the police officers from downstairs to come up and inspect my ID to which he replies "They'll side with me on whatever I say about an ID." My mother then stepped in to see what the problem was and ensure the bartender and nearby manager that I was really 25 and my ID was real. The manager then told us that we all had to leave and that we were "harassing the bartender" even though we were all simply just confused by his reasoning behind thinking my ID was fake. We went downstairs and I explained the the police officer the situation and if he could look at my ID. He appeared to be close friends with the staff and said that the bartender had "more training with IDs" than him, which surprised me greatly for a police officer that is outside a bar. The bouncer then grabbed my ID to inspect it some more. Apparently there is a dent somewhere in my ID to which he inappropriately asked "did you try to crush a pill with this or something?" We left confused, upset, and completely mistreated in a place we frequent often. I'm appalled by the behavior of the entire staff, and will not ever be returning. read more

much as I would like to give a bettet reiew i cannot in good conscious. wait time to being seated was good but that is where it ended. i specifically asked server, who never introduced himself, if the bloddy mary mix was loaded with horseradish and he said no. totally wrong. it was the most spicy i have ever had. Next, after almost a half hour the waiter came over to inform us the slip for our meal was lost. WONDERFUL. 0 FOR 2 so far. Then our meal showed up and guess what my fish was burned beyound edible. First real summer weekend demanded dinner on the deck overlooking the bay. Gorgeous spot I have enjoyed as The Sea Dog and Arts Place. After a rocky start with staff who didn't seem to understand we had a reservation, we finally found a wonderful outdoor table, but no server. We flagged down Michelle, who hadn't been informed we were there, and she more than made up for it. She was fantastic and our food and service were excellent from this point on. (Except the shrimp cocktail SAUCE, they need to do something about that). She even comped us some delicious cannoli and other desserts to make up for the initial problems. Thank you, Local for being a great addition to Hull. We went the on the 2nd night open. The staff has obviously been well trained in customer service- everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was outstanding was served quickly. You can't beat tbe view of the water with Boston in the background! I am excited for warmer weather so we can take advantage of the deck. I caught a glimpse of the 2nd floor seating area and saw the great space being set up for live music. No doubt Local will be the place the be this summer! read more

So much fun on a beautiful summer night. We were lucky to get a table outside on the deck for five. Katy our server made the night so enjoyable! So attentive, fun and great service. We stayed for hours and kept ordering steamers, lobster rolls, fish tacos and clam rolls. Prices are very reasonable for both food and drinks. The lobster was so fresh and delicious. We've gone a few times this summer already and service is always terrific. The view can't be beat. read more

I was really excited they made another restaurant here, but i was very disappointed in the food. I got the steak tips and they were very plain with little flavor. I feel as if this place is a good apps and drink stop, not really for dining. The view and outdoor patio is great though! As an owner of a restaurant out of town, I have to compliment Local 02045 on their staff and food. Its very tough to find good people and the staff was very attentive and service was fast. This place is right along the water and you're able to sit outside and view the ocean which was pretty awesome. It's also along a pier so before or after dinner you can walk around and it's just very beautiful views of the city. I wasn't expecting the food to be that good I thought this was more a location-type place but I was very surprised and impressed with how delicious everything was. They definitely have figured out how to make the food they do make very well. I thought the menu was a little small, but they're a huge place so I can't imagine them having a giant menu but for what the menu was I found several things I thought sounded appetizing. The only reason I gave them four versus five stars was just the staff seemed really unfriendly. Not rude just like our server drop the check and just walked by the table dropped it without even stopping or looking or saying thank you. And I was pretty much the theme all the way from the host and through dinner. read more

Beautiful setting with great views. The staff were friendly. The boneless wings were pretty spicy but quite good. The fish tacos were not the best I've ever had but a solid offering. The mixed greens had only a dilute lemon juice or water on it - no real dressing so I didn't eat more than a few bites. The portions were pretty big on our meals and other tables meals. Lots of other folks there ordered fancy mixed drinks which looked pretty. I was on crutches and the parking lot was in rough shape and the first floor women's bathroom had a leak in the ceiling so the concrete floor was wet so it was a bit treacherous. read more

What a great spot! Came on Monday night ,couldn't believe how packed it was! The wait was 40 minutes for outside and 10 for inside. We opted for inside however with the huge windows you still get to enjoy the view. We started off with the deck painkiller for a drink, one sip of this and you are immediately transported to the tropics! I loved the grated nutmeg in it! My husband had the chicken Marsala which was yummy, and I had the lobster roll. There was an abundance of lobster and it was delicious! Just lightly dressed with mayo which was nice. Unfortunately the roll was pretty dry but it didn't bother me because of how delicious the lobster was. It came with french fries which were ok and Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was great I think it had apples and kale in it. Also enjoyed the clam chowder which was really creamy and had a nice amount of clams in it. Our server Sarah was awesome too! Fun personality and she was fast and attentive. Looking forward to trying out more of the menu soon! read more

The fish and chips were excellent The fish was battered really well and tasted nice. it looked like a whole piece of haddock. The fries unfortunately were over salted. Worst food ever! So sad. Great location and view. Went there once for lunch. My fried fish was raw. Our waitress gave me a hard time when I told her. Horrible. Decided to give them a second chance. My husband had the fried fish sandwich. The fish smelled bad so he didn't eat it after 1 bite. I had fish tacos which also tasted spoiled. Didn't even bother saying anything. So I'm a bit shy to admit that I'm just now discovering '02045' after having lived in Hull for over a year. My bad and my loss. First, the people. I was greeted by some very welcoming wait staffers on the way in. They directed ( almost lead me ) to the upstairs dining area where I was greeted by my own waitperson who immediately took our drink order. No delay. She was, like all the others, very accommodating, happy to serve you and genuine - not rehearsed. Ordered the clam chowder which my companion and I agreed was the best we've had in a long time. We ordered mostly seafood, like fish tacos, that were also the best we've had. Enjoyed the outdoor ambiance, views of the Boston skyline and took a very pleasant walk on the marina boardwalk that polished off the evening. Final assessment: If you are looking for a Hull destination restaurant, I think you'll enjoy '02045' as we did. My only post discovery regret is that they are seasonal and close in late September. Was looking forward to trying this new incarnation of what used to be Sea Dog Brew Pub (which I liked.) The view from the outdoor deck remains the same - beautiful, but that's all this place has going for it. Hostess desk was not particularly friendly nor accommodating, menu not very innovative, service average, and food lackluster. The inside of the restaurant was very loud and lacked ambiance. This is the first time I have ever entered this establishment and I made sure to understand previous reviews before I actually tried it. I read that service was bad, no hostess and food was not great. Hoping it changed because of the criticism. Well we sat at this restaurant for 2 hours and received little to no service. We sent back bread (??? You shouldn't send back bread) and rarely finished our meals let alone our watered down drinks. We sent back our check and we're completely disappointed for such a pretty place. I will never return. read more

July 5th 2017: Called from 4:00pm-6:00pm, to try and place a take out order and the phones are busy the whole time. Clearly off the hook. At 6:10 I walk in and ask the bartender if they do take out. He said yes and that it would be about 20 minutes. Great, I place our order. I explain we called for 2 hours and think the phones are off the hook...he yells to Lisa the GM and tells her and she didn't even budge just said "oh ok" and continued chatting with friends while holding a baby. We grab a drink while waiting for take out, 6:30 no food, 6:40 no food, 7pm no food. We are getting on a boat thats leaving the dock at 7:15pm sharp and we need to leave with out the food we had paid for! I talked to the chef the next morning (Thursday) who was nice and gave my number to a manager. I get no call, I called Friday and asked for her. She apologizes and said she lost my number and "your card will be refunded Monday when Lisa is in, and I am going to also send you a gift card to come back, whats your address?" Great...so I think. A week passes, another week passes, I call again. I talk to Lisa who had NO knowledge of the situation! I explained, said I was told I would be getting a refund and a gift card to come back. Her reply "well I didn't authorize any of this, and I will refund your card, is that good enough for you?" I almost chocked on my "ummm sure" reply! Finally on July 26th I got a refund for 60 bucks. Horrible service, horrible customer service, horrible communication, horrible management, horrible restaurant! I never ate their food, so I cant tell ya how it is! read more
