I do not post much but when I do it's because the restaurant was very good or very bad. Lobster Paradise in Punta de Mita is not just good but great. My wife and I got several recommendations at our resort and decided to give it a try. We were blown away with the service, food and scenery. We shared the caprice salad and had a couple drinks before dinner. For dinner she had the lobster tempura tacos and I had the blue shrimp. They were both outstanding as was the cilantro rice side. Angel is simply an amazing waiter. We had at least 3-4 people taking care of us and we were only 2 people. WOW!! Angel was our main contact and I cannot give him enough praise. If your anywhere close to Puerto Vallarta, you need to try this place. Just outstanding!!!!!! read more

Just had a great dinner here, really good! Pretty beachfront restaurant (we literally sat on the beach). Lots of fresh local seafood as well as several steak options. We stared with the mango ceviche- which had shrimp, scallops & octopus - a little different style ceviche than I've had previously, but very nice. Then my husband had a whole red snapper (huge!) diablo style & I had local lobster (about 5 tails) which was cooked to perfection. Wait staff was very good, gave good suggestions about our orders. The name got our attention, peeking in the front door definitely brought us inside as noticed ocean front seating, on the beach, umbrella covered tables in the sand... The service was island time in getting getting us out dinner but we didn't mind in the slightest. Our servers were incredibly fast getting us our appetizers and constantly making sure our drinks were full and we were happy. Amazing food, amazing service, and the best desert we've had on our trip. The atmosphere and music was also incredible, beach side listening to popular songs on the saxophone and the soothing sounds of the waves, not to mention our toes in the sand. My family and I was looking for really good lobster and we found a great place, but Lobster Paradise was NOT the place for lobster, despite their name which was indicative that they "specialize" in lobster. I do not understand why they have good reviews as their lobster was absolutely cooked incorrectly and it is reflected in the taste and texture. There is nothing worst that paying top dollar for a nice piece of lobster but the chefs (I use that term loosely) not knowing how to prepare lobster. Let me be clear, the lobster was dry and did not have a good flavor or texture. These guys were really nice and provided lip service explaining that it all depends upon how the customer wants the lobster prepared. Please tell me what customer wants overcooked lobster? Really friendly staff, but they do NOT know what they are doing when it comes to preparing lobster. I asked for simple butter and the waiter was nice enough to bring garlic butter as well as regular butter, neither were good or helped in the experience. The garlic butter did nothing other than to over-power the taste of the lobster. It was simply terrible. Please let me back up at this point. We started our experience walking into the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, good music, great ocean views. Unfortunately, the buck stops here. We ordered their Calamari appetizer. Awful, like eating cheap kids chicken tenders. Way too breaded and overly fried on the outside, a bit rubbery on the inside (I tend to like the chewy part but my family did not). In any event, we all agreed that the Calamari had potential, but it was all on how it was cooked that made made this a bad choice. This place had all the ingredients that make a perfect "Tourist Trap" with one exception, see below: My wife had the Sea Bass. It was very good, cooked perfectly with a Thai sauce. She would recommend Lobster Paradise for their fish, but NOT for their lobster. We had drinks earlier that day and therefore, we can't comment on their drinks as we did not have any at Lobster Paradise. We were in town staying at the St. Regis during the 2021 Texas freeze and were recommended Lobster Paradise by our driver. We had giant blue shrimp, locally sourced little lobsters, tons of drinks and our tab was around $120. Felt like family dining there. View was absolutely amazing. Shared an amazing time with friends last night at Lobster Paradise. Started with an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef. We all ordered the 200g steak and each was cooked to perfection! I had the red wine sauce...so yum... and asparagus... nicely grilled but still crisp. The hubs chose garlic butter sauce which, of course, I sampled and it was also good. Ended our meal with shared desserts, carrot cake and chocolate cake, both house made, moist and yummy! And again, we were served a little extra sweet treat, compliments of the house. Cannot wait to return and try the lobster pizza and lobster enchiladas! We will be requesting Francisco as our waiter. He was very attentive and took excellent care of us! Cute place on the beach. Open-air dining. Some of the local children interrupted our dinner to try to get us to buy candy bars from them, which we weren't expecting. The food was good, but definitely did not have a wow factor to it. The one thing that we really liked was that at the hostess stand, there is a rainbow sign that said "Love Is Love", inferring that the establishment is LGBT friendly. Went here while on vacation with my friends. I'm allergic to shellfish but that didn't stop me from having a yummy meal . Horacio , the server, was very accommodating to my restrictions. This place is a rip off!! We walked in for three adult drinks and two kids sodas. They charged us 1200 pesos. We had US dollars, so they gave us a huge exchange rate. Today 1200 pesos is 61.80 USD. We just had dinner here and it was phenomenal! First of all, the restaurant IS gorgeous. It's completely redone-- has a huge open air dining room, and an enclosed bar area. It started storming during dinner so our server, Horacio, moved us into the bar area because the winds were whipping around. But the servers didn't miss a beat. The craft cocktail list was really good. I recommend the "Ramon"-- straight up- extra spicy! I had the Catch of the day, Sea Bass. It was perfect! We also tried the shrimp risotto as a side-- and it had a good firm texture and a lot of flavor. The only thing, that was slightly under expectations was the lobster bisque. There was just something missing. It was still good-- but not the best I've ever had. (Just order the arugula salad instead- it was great) But honestly, I gave the restaurant 5-stars, not just because of the food, but the experience. From the decor, to the service, to the food it was a fine dining experience. And the prices were comparable to the other more casual restaurants near by. It had a good variety on the menu, and we even had someone in our party- allergic to shellfish (yes, she lives on the edge). Horacio had the kitchen whip her up some "shellfish free" pasta- that's service! We will definitely be back. Although I'm afraid, once word gets out- I may need a reservation next year! read more

Had dinner here tonight while on vacation with some friends. AMAZING! The service was fantastic - Alfredo was our server and was great. He did an excellent job explaining the dishes and specials of the day. Now for the food - let's just say we all left happy. I had the coconut shrimp (so big I couldn't finish all of them!) with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms as my sides. Probably the best mushrooms I've had. Everything tasted fresh and there were so many delicious flavors in my mouth it was hard to choose what to go for next :) There were 8 of us and no one had any complaints about the food. Skip this place. We sat down and got drinks ordered with appetizers. They came back 5 mins later and we also ordered our meals. We waited almost 45mins before getting our appetizers. We had to ask where they were. The lobster bisque was terrible! I'm pretty sure that's what dirt taste like. We waited almost 2hrs before we got our meal. Keep in mind there was 7 other tables with people so it's not like they were slammed. So we got our food. Our steaks were served RAW our lobster was RAW. What a joke and health hazard !! As with almost every restaurant in the region, the staff was very gracious. Unfortunately, the lobster bisque was thin and bland with a strong taste of a dry well or dry double boiler. We also had the giant lobster tail and it was was gorgeous, but dry and tough. It was very over cooked and that was after taking an abnormally long time to arrive at the table. We decided to give Lobster Paradise a try based on all the five star reviews. From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed. The ambiance and decor are first class. We selected a seat near water. We had the pleasure of being waited on by Alberto who was extremely professional and super personable. Prior to ordering, Alberto brought out three trays of fish and meat to show us the quality of their food. We were extremely impressed. We had our heart set on the Zarandeado, but after seeing the blue shrimp we decided to add 4 pieces as a side order. Both dishes (the blue shrimp and the Zarandeado) were fantastic. Very fresh and cooked to perfection. We especially enjoyed spending a few minutes talking with Alberto after our meal. There are many excellent restaurants in the area, but Lobster Paradise is certainly the finest in Punta de Mita. I highly recommend you give it a try. I am confident you will be impressed. read more
