This review is specifically for the Loblaws employee(s) that work the Starbucks here. There is one particular woman that is usually working this station from the Loblaws kitchen and she is the worst, most ignorant, and rudest employee I've ever dealt with. She will literally SIGH when you want to use your starbucks card, not understand how it works or even how to make most of the drinks. And somehow she talks to YOU like you are dumb. On numerous occasions I almost walked away mid-order because her moody behaviour will just bring you down. Unless you HAVE to, don't bother ordering from here. You will know which lady I'm talking about within 5 seconds of observing her. read more

I really like this loblaws. It's so pretty, especially when you go upstairs and take a view of the entire store from a bird's eye view. The bakery is amazing. Wonderful selection of chocolates, cupcakes and cookies. Beautiful designs and not just your normal round or square cake. They had a purse shaped cake for Mother's Day. Beautiful arrangements of flowers are on hand, although the floral section is small, there is great variety. There were miniature orchids that were so cute. The pots are all different also, there's one in a watering can, or organic pot, bird cages etc. The selection of housewares is all right. I went looking for wok lids, but they don't seem to sell lids on their own. Joe fresh is also located in the store. If you have caa membership, you get an extra discount. Great selection of health foods and organics. There's also a pharmacy, a bulk foods section, fresh fish, the produce seems fresh. Other than normal grocery store fare, they have a canteen, a women's only GoodLife and a pc cooking school!!! With the pc cooking school, you can get a complimentary meeting with the dietician and two follow up meetings. I never actually tried this, but it's a good offering. You can also pick up health info upstairs by the pc cooking school as well as recipes. My favourite class is the what's for dinner class, which costs $10, but you get your $10 back via gift card. They also have good sales and rewards. They helped Canada through the COVID pandemic keeping essentials available and prices fair. read more

I only come to this location, to get stuff from the hot table/bar, all of the staff are super friendly, with a huge and varying selection of hot food to get. lots of parking, and super clean on the inside as well. I docked a star from the counter because the prices are a little bit over inflated, which it is very hard to shop here if you are on a budget. the hot wings are great here, nice bite, with lots of meat on the bones. read more

I have never been to such a cool grocery store! There is a woman's gym & a cooking school inside the grocery store! The place is so organized and cool! The bakery looked amazing for cupcakes and customized cakes! I was blown away! They take pc optimum points to which was great! So much selection and diversity of food! The only downfall was the product section was lacking.. they didn't have tomato's... or red onions.... strange. Will be making the extra drive to come here that's for sure! read more

We made a rookie mistake in life and visited this location on New Year's Eve of all times and it was BUS-AY. My fiance and I realized after visiting my mom and step-dad nearby in Etobicoke that we didn't have any groceries for 2018 at our apartment. Whoops!! Having said that, we were able to find everything we were looking for to get stocked up for the new year. This location is similar to other Loblaws I have been to - they have a deli counter, bakery area, meat/seafood counter, beer/wine aisles, and a Joe Fresh section as well. Also really like that they have a whole area dedicated to organic foods - yay! The young ladies at the cash were very polite and did their best to get customers out the door fast - always very appreciated! Will definitely come back again while in the area! read more

This Loblaws is one of the nicest grocery stores in the local area of central Etobicoke. They have the selection, the variety of products, the fresh produce, good meats but I don't come here that often because well it's kind of expensive. They do however have some good quality food and I may come here more for the produce alone. As far as the hot food selection it's decent but not the greatest. I went to pick up some chicken wings and chicken fingers and they are sort of expensive. A dozen wings is almost 12 bucks so it's like a buck a wing. If I wasn't in such a rush to get food for people coming over I would have probably gone to Pizza Hut or Hooters. The store is clean, nice and well kept. If you're going buy anything prepackaged however you can get it at Food Basics, No Frills or Price Chopper for less. Still, a decent grocery store for the "fresh foods". read more

I'm from the states and I go to Loblaws for lunch almost every day. The variety of things they have is phenomenal. A great cold food bar as well as more hot foods like chicken tenders and things like that. I stick to the cold food because of the health factor and heat it up in my office if necessary. They have several amenities as well, including dry cleaning services and a woman's only gym on the second floor! They have a fresh bakery in the back, a cafe off to the side, close to the hot/cold foods, and a sweets area right in the middle that has a huge assortment of chocolates, pastries, cakes, cupcakes, etc. There is also a section for clothes and jewelry! The lines are never too bad, but I always prefer to use the self checkout lanes which I can almost always use immediately. Overall a great experience every time read more

I always seem to hit this store for work when I'm looking to see if my client's programs are being executed properly or to buy gift cards for contests. So I have great experience with their customer service counter. The customer service staff have always been friendly and helpful. They've always apologized for any significant wait that I've had to experience and they've always been able to help me with whatever I've needed. read more

Went here to grab a few things. No baskets at the front near the carts so I had to walk all the way to the optical place in front before I found one to use. So much stuff in here and that's cool but everything $2-4ish at another place (e.g. NoFrills) is about $3-5ish here.. Yes, I get it, you pay the overhead of this REALLY nice-looking store and the food is amazing and seems to be all great quality, but I just wouldn't recommend coming in for a couple of things like I did but if I want some nice seafood or something I'll probably roll back.. read more

Convenient for me to get to I find this location just alright; the service at the deli can be horrendous it all depends on the personal lives of those working at the time. I do like the layout; I find it clean, open and organized. They have an excellent produce section and a lot of convenient little features like a Goodlife gym, Alteration, photo, wine rack, dry cleaners and more. I do not often visit the specialty departments but the cashiers can often be helpful. The dry Cleaners are a bit on the pricey side as is everything else here but I do find it worth it in the long run. Loblaws is considered the top end of the Loblaw family and this particular one is no different from the others I visited. It is huge in size and selection with the bigger price tag to match. I personally find this store has good variety in produce but they may not have a lot of them. Last time I was here, they had 6 different leafy greens (kale, rainbow chard, swiss chard...) but there was only may 3 stalks of each. Sure, they were all good quality and fresh but honestly, I was hoping for more than 3 of each! The fishmonger area was not large but each fillet seemed well intact and fresh. No fishy smells here! The butcher area was similar. It wasn't a large area but it had nice pieces in there. They also had duck breast and whole duck! That was a nice addition. The baked good areas was insanely large. It probably was larger than both the fish and butcher place combined. It had over 20 types of bagels and a ridiculous amount of bread. I guess this area loves their wheat products. As for the rest of the store, it's clean, organized, and well stocked. I always found what I wanted and in various brands. This particuar store has a lot of the black label items and I've never had a bad item from them! It's high quality for a higher price point than their normal PC brand but it's WORTH IT. My only complaint about Loblaws is their pricing. It's certainly not the cheapest and though they do have better selection and quality overall, their other sister stores like Fortinos, Zehrs, and select Superstore are just as good but for lower prices. Unless Loblaws offer completely different items, I don't understand why they would charge a premium on the same product. read more

I like this Loblaws a lot. It's my go-to for freshly baked bread. They make really good cheesecake as well. Positives include the little cafe upstairs. Their coffee is very good in terms of taste and price. There's also a Goodlife gym, a drycleaners, photo place and seamstress. I haven't really gone to any other Loblaws to compare but this one is always clean and mostly well stocked. There have been a few times I've had real trouble finding a particular type of leaf green I wanted, but asking one of the staff will usually solve that problem for you if they have it in stock. read more

My Canada trip will almost finish in 5 days. I have had stopped at this store for almost 3 times. By buying bakeries, fruits and veggies, yogurts and meat, I think I can provide a general idea towards this store. This store seems to be the Harris Teeter in Chapel Hill, meaning it has everything. Even better, they have varieties of cook tools, clothes, etc. Oh, yeah, it's comparable as Walmart but seems to be more upscale. I had their bakeries in only this store. I was shock that they have so many choices for me to crave and the tastes are good as well. In addition, their breads are fresh and healthy. Fruit and veggies are comparably pricy but still worth a stop. They often have huge sale in many shit food so be awared. The only cons of this store is due to the stupid payment system in Canada. When I was trying to swipe my credit card, they asked for photo id, and i was supervised while I was paying the card, only because I could not insert the card to pay the bill. I always get cashed out by a polite cashier and, the management is great-they are great listeners and, they know how to train their staff. I can appreciate their hard work not only that but the time taken to educate their staff on proper customer service and, what have you. Keep up the great work!!. I will shop here from now on. May 8, 2020 The staff at Loblaws on Burnhamthorpe are still not social distancing - especially the young ones. For instance, the young men stocking the produce, not wearing masks and socializing less than 1 foot apart with the other workers. Next, the young ladies who get the online orders ready are chatting right beside each other, and again not wearing masks. In addition, the young personal shoppers are walking RIGHT beside the customers in the isles - not wearing masks. Last week my husband witnessed managers talking in a group, no masks, less than one foot apart. Finally, the man spraying the carts outside is missing 10 at a time. The cashiers fortunately are taking this seriously, but by the time you get to them you have probably been infected by all the other staff taking things so lightly. LONGOs is looking better and better - the staff there seems to care about their customers! Now I know why my friends have switched over. read more

I find they have a great selection, including lots of organic produce. They have just about everything you could want. Customer service is usually okay. What is disturbing to me is the Loblaws corp's bullying of GMO (genetically modified organism) free producers. Any brand that advertises as non-GMO will not be sold at Loblaws. They do not want an awareness of GM foods and this fight against allowing people to be informed about what they are eating comes across as deceptive. Personally, I don't enjoy the taste of deception so we are weaning off of Loblaws. read more

The review is strictly for the new "Patisserie" section. I've generally had good experiences with the rest of the store/associates so I was really disappointed with the poor service I received here. It's almost as if it was run by an outside company. I was waiting for my turn to buy some macarons on a busy Saturday and they must have had at least 20 people behind the counter but not everybody looked like they were working. Finally a woman asked if we needed help and I asked her a question about the macarons. She gave me a curt answer and before I could even respond she immediately turned around and walked away!! My jaw must have been on the floor because a stock girl standing behind the counter apologized on her behalf. We were eventually served when another girl sauntered over. As we chose our macarons, the girl was collecting them in her hand instead on putting them in a box. Then she put all our macarons on the back counter while she went to go get a box and she was gone for a long time so basically my macarons were sitting out in the open next to staff who were assembling other orders and reaching for things close to my goods. Was there no food hygiene training??? There was no saving grace as the macarons were horrible. They were extremely stale, hard and dried out. I had high expectations since these cost more money than the boutique bakeries downtown! read more

Ok, so needed something fast for dinner on Friday. Went to their ready to go meals area, bought 3 of their individual Curry Chicken Pot Pies. They were really good. Flaky crust, lots of veggies. Not too much spice. Even my little guy liked it. I guess he is expanding his Pallet!! Had a quick home made salad with it, of course I bought the veggies there too. This store at East Mall & Burnamthorpe is relatively well stocked, spacious and with quality produce, meat and bakery. Bought my first cherry bomb hot peppers here--tiny but potent for putting a little heat in your pasta or whatever. Bought a smoked pork picnic shoulder for Thanksgiving, big sucker for just over $13. Will last us 3 weeks & tastes better than leftover turkey. It's great if you're into Asian ramen: wide selection of Korean & Japanese ramen. Good selection of frozen juices & soft drinks. Quite reasonably priced for the most part with lots of specials. Accepts Superbucks from other Loblaws/No Frills/Real Canadian Superstore where there is a gas bar, and you can also cash in PC Points for groceries if you have a PC Financial account [it all adds up:) ] read more

Went here to grab some food a long time ago and since the cash at the hot and ready counter was having issues I had to go pay at the cash lanes which I didn't have an issue with. However when I went to go buy my food the cashier was giving me death stares the entire time and acted annoyed over me taking a second to get my points card that I usually use at No Frills. I wasn't happy about this and asked for a supervisor to which she told me she was the supervisor and to stop giving her a hard time! I asked for her manager and she refused so I decided to leave the food and not buy it. Horrible customer service and I will never go back especially when head office thinks a good way to repay screwing over its customers for years even before their horrible management is a $20 gift card. Considering the size of this grocery store and amount of selection, I go here frequently and cannot believe some items they can't keep in stock. A few weeks ago they had no celery or cilantro left! Overall I dont find the quality of produce to be that great either especially when their charging top dollar. The take-out food counter has some great options but the service there is seriously lacking. The staff is very slow and seem to have no passion whatsoever for what their doing. My husband and I leave the counter frustrated each time either because of the long wait or poor communication skills. read more

Part of the review is about service at the Organic Dairy area. It is somewhat cramped and stock is hard to check dates. Yesterday, the milk guy basically pushed himself in front of me as I was trying to find a decent date on my preferred brand. Organics cost more and yes I am fussy about dates. This is not the first time I felt I was IN THE WAY of the milk guy but I am not likely to shop there anymore. This guy was actually rude. Another reason I decided to go elsewhere is this Loblaws does not sell fresh wild sockeye salmon. I thought perhaps it is a seasonal thing, but no, they do not sell it period.
