Came one hour before closing (11pm) and it was so clean and large inside. Lots of fresh produce, snacks, and grocery needs. There's even a Starbucks inside. Wanted to buy some Ben and Jerry's ice cream and luckily it was on sale ($4.99). They didn't have too many flavours though unfortunately -- only vanilla, strawberry jammin', cherry garcia, and churro. The cashier was fast and efficient. 5 stars for the new carts! These are sweet: u can weigh and scan your items as you go; amazing! I know some will say it removes a human on cash; but it creates human beings building and maintaining these carts! Once it's in the cart, you move on, no lining up, no taking it out of the cart, putting it back into the cart, etc.... Heads up; you can't take carts into parking lot (they are $$$$), so you will be carrying from exit. We learned upon exiting. Love this technology! One day we will look back at all these unnecessary lines.. and be grateful for this type of technology. read more

i've only come here for sushi, but even that doesn't make me want to come here often, or go out of my way to come here. this location is so extremely out of my way to come to, that it has taken an extreme amount of circumstances to come to this location. I.e. the store i shop at is out of sushi, and im having a wicked craving. i will agree with what someone else already said, the parking lot is madness and is a huge sore spot of grief with me coming to this location. the pricing of items here is another sore spot as well. its a good location for an emergency run being that the location is 24hrs. afterall. the service and employee's here are really great and friendly as well. please be careful in the parking lot...its not a joke at all. read more

I am a bit disappointed at Sobeys. My wife purchased a compliments product yesterday. It was the wrong item and wanted to return it. It was not opened and could be resold. She was told that Sobeys does not accept returns on any products. I don't understand why. There is no signage in the store, the receipt does not state no returns and their website does not state they do not accept returns. This is totally unacceptable. Being so close to work, I come here if I need something quick for work. I love the convenience of this location being open 24 hours. This is much bigger than most locations. Stock is always plentiful. This location also has a Tim Hortons, a flower shop and a dry cleaner located right inside. Bakery is great with friendly staff. Maybe it's because I mom worked at a Sobeys in my home town for 20 years or because I prefer grocery shopping at Loblaws and Metro, but I didn't find Sobeys any more expensive than my regular places. This location is nice, but like with every Sobys it feels like it's missing something... like President's Choice items!!! All kidding aside, this location had most of what I was looking for for my camping trip (they even had a smore cart!) Their meat section was missing lots of options such as ground pork and turkey scaloppini. I would say I was satisfied with the overall experience and would have given them 4 stars if it wasn't for the checkout. The little old lady scanning our stuff was working at the speed of smell! There was no fire under her ass to go faster and the time it took her to go through 50 items I had called a cab, they had arrived and were sitting in the parking lot for 5 minutes! I know it's a pain when you have tons of stuff, but my suggestion is if you are in a hurry, do the self checkout! read more

I've been shopping here for over a year. Not because I am a happy loyal customer, but because there is little else around. Pros: -open 24 hours -decent selection of North American food -great organic meat (when in stock) -large organic section -helpful staff who will often check the backroom if you ask them to Cons: -poorly marked aisles -expired items -rotten produce -Chaotic cash out area during peak hours -Very little selection of international seasonings and traditional sauces Tips: -DO NOT COME ON A WEDNESDAY. It seems they don't get anything new in stock on Wednesday. It is common to find a meat section with NO chicken, and many empty shelves on Wednesday. -CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE before you buy. Anytime I don't, I wind up with expired items. Sometimes they've been expired for over 3 days! -Double check your bagged salad to make sure none is rotten. -Double check your bagged grapes. They often put a bunch of fresh grapes on top of a week-old bag of grapes. If the bag of grapes is extremely full, reach into the bottom to make sure they are fresh. read more

This supermarket is at least as good as any other supermarket I've been to in Toronto, and it's better than any other option between dusk and dawn since it's 24hours and is much better than Metro. Now, like other places in Toronto that are technically open 24 hours, this isn't like a big city supermarket where the peripherals (bakery, seafood, etc) are also open past 8:00pm. So if you want to do anything that requires talking to another human you have to come early because no humans work the graveyard shift here. It's expensive, but not noticeably more so than Loblaws or Metro. The selection is limited, but not noticeably more so than other supermarkets in Toronto. The people here are unhelpful and more often in the way than helping you along yours, but Torontards are typically like that all over the city. So basically it's a pretty poor excuse for a grocery store, but it's in line with Toronto's "pay more, get less" motto. read more

A mixed review... I really like this Sobeys, a clean environment, a good size pharmacy department, an in-house florist, baker, fish monger, deli, hot food counter and "butcher". And by butcher, I mean "guy behind the meat counter". I usually get really good steaks here but yesterday was a meat fail. All of the NY strips under glass were cut really thin. I like mine 2 knuckles thick. A good source of vitamin meat. So I says to the "guy behind the meat counter" (who at this point I thought was a butcher) "Hey guy, can you cut me three, two-knuckles off of that there roast?" He said "Nope, we don't cut the meat here". I said "Yes you do, another guy cut me off three just a week ago". He replied "These are all we got". I said, "Then I'll take that thicker, marbled one there at the back and if you could please look underneath for two that have similar marbling". He stared off in the distance and told me "They're all marbled... all our steaks are marbled." I was about to ask him how he could possibly think that was a valid answer when the one at the back was CLEARLY more marbled than... then I digressed and simply asked: "Have you ever seen a Wagyu strip steak?" "Wag who?", he asked. I walked away. I had to rant about that guy, thank you Yelp... although I still like the store. read more

Living in Swansea, we have two major grocery stores (and a number of mom and pop veggie and fruit marts). A combination of No Frills for packaged goods (for cheap) and Sobey's for better produce and cheaper meat (surprisingly) is what we do. The Sobey's Supermarket is clean, which can't be said about many within the city. Customer service from the cashiers has been pleasant, and they are helpful. There are 8 self-checkout lanes, which is definitely an asset for me when I'm in a hurry. The in-store Tim's does breakfast sandwiches, and have a decent selection of pastries as well. Definitely glad we have the store in the neighborhood. read more

I do like this Sobeys even though they are more expensive than some of the other supermarkets. Fairly clean, good size pharmacy department, bakery and deli. I've had a couple of bad experiences with frozen seafood purchased here so I stay away from that. The best thing is the location, did I mention there's a Pier1 nearby?! And the fact that I get Aeroplan loyalty points (converted from Sobeys points) 4 stars for being closed in the middle of the week (no notice) during the pouring rain. I ordered a birthday cake and unfortunately there was a brown hair in it - And it didn't belong to me. What birthday girl doesn't want that for her birthday? Although the selection at this Sobeys rivals that at many of the smaller stores, the check out lines are abysmal. I'm not sure if they cashiers are unionized or what-- but even with every cashier open on a Saturday afternoon, there are lineups all the way back into the aisles. This makes shopping the front of the store nearly impossible and these cashiers are among the slowest I've ever seen. Yesterday, we waited 15 minutes in line while the cashier took her sweet time with two people ahead of us ringing each item and slooooooowly adding each item to the bag. When it was my turn, I began to bag the goods myself quickly and efficiently. Our transaction took 4 minutes vs the other two ahead of us that took over 7 minutes each. On eveyr other occasion that I've been at this Sobey's the cashiers have been just as slow. There is no sense of urgency or feeling that they are there to help. I'm blaming bad management. Employees are only this unhappy and uncaring when they feel that they are not being respected. I'd like to get to the bottom of the situation, but I don't have that much time. Neither my boyfriend nor myself will be returning to this Sobey's location in the future. read more

My issues: * Parking lot is mayhem (but spots are usually available) * It is SOOO hard to find some products - some examples - corn meal is in multiple spots throughout the store (Mexican, baking, and somewhere else that made no sense so I forgot). Same goes for Lentils, molassas, and many other items I've looked for. It's sooooo poorly organized and not intuitive at all. Add to that, the fact that they have reorganized everything in the store several times in the past few years.... despite having shopped there multiple times per week for years, I STILL get confused about where things are. * Frequently long lines at check-out * Not a ton of organic produce Decent option for groceries though. In crisis, some rise to the occasion to show their leadership, some buckle under pressure/stress and some expose their incompetence. What was revealed during Covid-19 pandemic with this Sobey's was their inability to cope and remediate. Unprecedented customer demand and shopping practice emptied shelves of many grocery stores. While stores such as Longo's and Loblaws managed to stock up within a few days (with some very popular items in low stock), I watched this Sobey's empty shelves for weeks. They still haven't completely recovered. Either Longo's and Loblaws have a better supply chain or Sobey's just couldn't/cannot cope. Simply put, they have been struggling to remediate. I live in walking distance of this store and have always shopped here, but now I drive to Longo's or Loblaws, unless I need "everything bagels" - I like their bagels. read more

This is a really big, 24-hour Sobeys--so big they named this relatively new plaza after it. While I'm not always crazy about other Sobeys locations, mostly on account of price and selection, this one is pretty good, since the hugeness, general quality, and hours justify the typical Sobeys cost markup. This Sobeys has many of the things you'd expect from a big supermarket, like butcher, deli counter, fish counter, and a lot of expensive cheeses, in addition to all the other staples. It's also got more unusual attractions, like a gelato counter and sushi. One odd thing I've noticed: for some reason they hide the cases of bottled water way off behind the checkouts, despite having plenty of aisle space. read more

This is a kind of new Sobey's by the Harbourfront Complex. Smaller than what I assume is a typical Sobey's (I've never been in another one) and this one seems to be for people on the go as they emphasize fresh sushi and salads and also prepared meals over everything else. The rest of the aisles are probably mini versions of the regular store. Small aisles as a result and you will probably find 2-3 versions of a particular type of item instead of 5-6 in a larger Sobey's. Bakery is also pretty small which surprised me since they emphasize fresh take-out and that counts. Considering it's a bit of a walk to the larger Loblaws and Dominion you might be better off shopping here but I'd keep walking. read more

Hands down this is the worst grocery store I've ever shopped at. I moved into the area in 2012 and really gave this store a shot, but continually its the same issues. During the week, evenings typically have the same characteristics -poor selection in produce, produce bag dispensers empty, cashiers rude or very slow and so on. Tonight was the last straw.... I stopped by after a good 6 month hiatus and while waiting in the self-check out section, when my turn came up the cashier/attendant stops me to say that the customer behind me was first. She rambled off some nonsense about "she has one item"..."she was here before you and went to exchange her item" blah blah... My issue is this....why not politely ask me "can this customer go ahead of you" while we are both waiting for the next available machine...instead I'm ordered to wait. After all, my $75 dollar basket of goods is worth far less than the other customer $5 purchase. I should have walked out, but didn't have time to stop at Metro tonight. Considering prices are the same with Metro and the store is always stocked, I'll be taking my $75 elsewhere. Realistically, I doubt I'll ever shop at any other Sobeys again. read more

This is one of the worst supermarkets in all of Toronto, and I have been to many supermarkets in Toronto. Prices are ridiculously expensive. Choices are limited and the service is poor. Sometimes the cashier lines could be 20 or more minutes long. Been there twice and even though I live right next door to it, will never be back. read more

I have to rate the store 1 star because of my last issue with them. I purchased some fish from there fish dept. It was pre wrapped from the fresh fish section and in their cooler .When I got home the smell coming from the bag was unreal! The fish was bad, the date on the package was good and so it was back to the store to return it. I was told by the customer service girl to not buy the pre packaged fish. I would have better "luck" if I purchased it from the fresh fish counter! "Better luck" are you for real Sobeys!!! I emailed the Sobeys customer service and heard nothing. Other issues 1. Purchased organic milk that was a week and a half pasted the due date. Emailed the milk company and they were flabbergasted! 2. Produce that goes rotten on the second day at home. 3. Check out staff that ignore you when you say "good morning/afternoon" 4. I asked a staff member where I might find something and his response was "I have no idea" I then asked who may "have an idea" his response "nope" and he continued on. Well good thing a Metro is opening just around the corner........good bye Sobeys!! read more

Best Sobeys and or grocery store in the city. Store very clean and staff extremely helpful. Check it out for yourself. Could use a few more cash registers though when it gets busy. Also when its busy the parking lot can be a nightmare. People don't know how to effectively navigate in and out. It takes some studying but once you learn how to navigate it gets a little better. read more

This Sobeys has horrible customer service. I went there after the cake decorators "went home" and no body in the ENTIRE store could help me with what I needed. How can you have nobody in the bakery that knows what they're doing during the evening? If there was no cake decorator night shift that would be understandable but in the late afternoon-evening, having no cake decorators working is pretty ridiculous. The other ladies serving cakes have no idea what they are doing what so ever, the customer in front of me waited 15 minutes just so the woman could find the code of the product. Absolutely ridiculous! I will never bring my business to this Sobeys again and I will spread the word read more
