You will need a coin for the shopping karts, which I find frustrating, although thankfully they do have some baskets if you're only picking up a few items. There are no self-serve check outs and the belts they do have in front of the cashiers are very short. You can only stack a few items before they get full, making it awkward to unload your cart, and then pack as they scan. This often leads to long lines and delays, especially when they only have one or two cashiers open. Overall, good value store, that would get more stars if it improved the ease with which customers could shop.

The store is not well kept and the things in the produce section are just piled on. The packaged items fare a bit better. The variety is limited. The prices are good as that's their niche. The checkout are ridiculous as there is hardly any space when a line starts to form and they do get slammed consistently. Service at checkout is particularly poor as the cashiers have an attitude like they are doing you a favor. Ah well I guess this area this is not much in terms of alternate so they can keep packing the crowds day after day.

They also had an impressive array of hot and cold foods to-go that looked quite good, although I didn't try any. If I have any complaint, it is the fact that most of the vegetables are prepackaged in miles of plastic wrap and styrofoam... it is shocking to see. But aside from that, I'd have to say this beats the T&T by a good margin, and I am a T&T devotee from when they opened their first store in Burnaby in the early 90's!

I went back few days later to grab some food for dinner. I got some items from the buffet, dim sum, order of fried shrimp tempura and kimchi. Absolutely my favourite Rabba. They have their own bakery (always having fresh croissants/muffins…read moreetc) in the morning as well as subway and a brand new Tim Hortons. However as my go to Rabba and my experience over the years there were great employees who were always very social and provided great customer service and knowledgeable about their tobacco/vape products. I don't see many anymore of my favourites and I feel like customer service has dropped. Darcy is still there and one of my favourites who had always been charismatic and talkative and helped me find things in their store. Brad was a totally amazing dude. Besides his knowledge of helping me find my shopping products; he really helped me quit smoking and switch over to vaping and honestly by this point I'm glad to say I've gotten over my addiction. Haven't seen him in a while but did personally want to tell him how great of a worker he is and that he was very knowledgeable in vape products and literally benefitted me in my everyday nicotine addiction Abdullah who I'm not sure if he runs the store is really nice to customers and very polite. He was very understanding more than a few times when I was short on money in purchasing groceries and honestly he has such a kind heart. I can't recall the bakery department employees but all are so friendly and nice to me when I want to buy something in their department. Also! That sweet lady who works at the Sushi Shop. The service here is usually friendly, but the selection is basic. They moved from a plaza across…read morethe street to this spot a few years ago (the plaza has since been knocked down and new condos are going up in its place). But in that process, they had to really pare down their selection. They've done a good job of providing a basic range of products in very limited space, but the selection is a narrow one indeed, unfortunately (maybe it's just that I remember how much better the selection was when it was in the bigger spot--and how I lost a few favourite convenience items in the process). But in all--a good Rabba, gets you the staples and then some (a few Artisano breads; some salads,veggies and fruits; quick grab snacks like sausage rolls and chickpea salads as well as prefab meals like lasagne etc; a pretty good deli selection, with samosas, cabbage rolls, couscous salads etc.). They also have a little DVD dispenser that sometimes doesn't work (and isn't theirs--an independent company maintains it), but is convenient and cheap when it does work. Oh, and they also have fresh coffee and sometimes they have hot soup as well.
