Thin crust pizza by Ristorante

Endless range of groceries at Loblows at Etobicoke made my weekly run for the groceries easy. Social distancing and could guidelines like masks etc are being followed by everyone.

All my favorite Canadian snacks!

Love the renovations and generally the store is fine however those working in the meals to go area are rude and very slow moving.

The store clerks are very cordial and the postal staff are terrific. Apparently, they'll be relocating to the space vacated by Food Basics. I'm looking forward to the expansion. My rating is 3.5 stars…read more After work last Thursday, I wanted to pick up some hand cream for my mom. She had cracked skin on one of her hands for at least a week. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

Their beauty section isn't too bad as well. I have been using a lot of Benefit products as of late so if I don't have time to go to Sephora, Shoppers is the next best thing. They also have a Canada Post, which is quite handy. I wouldn't recommend buying food here as the prices seem to be quite high, but the pharmacy and beauty area are reasonable. Good for: drugs, cosmetics

OK, so I wanted to post another Google review for the Shopper's Drug Mart at 5230 Dundas Street…read moreWest (Six Points Plaza, Etobicoke), but for whatever reason, Google would not allow me to post a new review. Anyway, I canèt believe that after not going to this SDM for over a month, I had a similar disappointing experience that I had the last time I was there. Again, security was the instigating factor. I had a Gatorade bottle, most of which I had drank, and the security guard on duty, with no evidence, accused me of trying to steal it (I would like to thank the employee who I've known there for several years, for backing me up, and helping to defend me against security's unfounded allegations). I had brought the Gatorade bottle from home, yet security insisted that he did not see me come into the store with it. Again, without any evidence he assumed that I bought it in the store and drank it there. Luckily, there's an easy way to resolve this: SDM has cameras at its entrances and exits, so If I had taken a bottle of Gatorade that was sold in the store and drank most of it and then tried to leave without paying for it, the cameras would have caught me, wouldn't they have? I ended up leaving me Gatorade bottle and said to my employee ally that he could just throw it out. I don't know how the security company that SDM hires vets their workers, but this is the 2nd time in 5 weeks I have been to this location that I have been going to for years, and had to deal with this BS. As I said, the cameras will prove that I did nothing wrong (in addition to my witness), and I hope the security guard, or at the very least the company he works for, has the decency to apologize to me for his unfounded and false accusation. Thank you.

Two Saturdays ago, I was in the area and needed a drugstore. I did a search and found this Shoppers…read moreDrug Mart (SDM). It was a six-minute drive from where I was. This SDM is in a busy plaza anchored by Sobeys across from it. I found a parking spot fairly close to the main doors. I backed into it and headed inside. The layout is similar to most SDMs. It was easy to figure out which aisles I needed. I hit the vitamin aisle first. I was pleased that there was a vitamin sale going on. Two other shoppers, both men, were looking at vitamins, too. I got what I needed and continued exploring. This store had a decent selection of plushies. There were a couple of massive teddy bears. I know that they'd fit in my car, but where would I put them at home? Maybe one could be a guard by the door? I got some pop. I forgot to get a carton of eggs. The best price for a dozen is at SDM and Rexall on the weekend these days. A carton goes for $3.49. I hit the self-checkout area and scanned my items. I then loaded them into my reusable bag. I scanned my PC Optimum card and then paid with a credit card. Easy peasy! I placed my items in my car and started to leave. You do need to drive with caution in this lot. There are some drivers who enjoy driving in the middle of a roadway and aren't considerate. I witnessed it first-hand trying to leave. I couldn't because this person was hogging the road and holding up everyone around him. Other than this jerk, I enjoyed shopping here. Maybe it's more relaxed when it's not a weekend. (26)

He apologized when I asked him why he wasn't wearing his mask properly. I thought masks were compulsory. This Shoppers pharmacy gets consistently bad ratings, I have found the staff rude, and ignoring customers or simply walking away in mid sentence. I'm actually thinking of changing pharmacies - no mask was the last straw and it is against the law.

Lee mentioned to me that it's been recently remodeled. With this remodel emerged a small grocery section, which is really quite nice. It makes it so that if you live in the area and don't want to drive all the way down to the Metro, you can pop by this place and pick up a few necessities. The pharmacist that gave Lee his shot was very nice and friendly, and overall the customer service and product selection is great.

Really large because it used to be in the same strip mall but in the middle causing all sorts of parking issues and traffic. Since it took over the 3 time grocery store foot print why not add groceries to a store that in the past never really sold groceries, at least the frozen kind or the kind that needed refrigeration. This place has a lot going for it. The original store in the middle of the mall had a really small foot print. This area needs to have a grocery store as well. The closest other stores are not walking distance really (Loblaws at East Mall and Burnhamthorpe, No Frills at Rathburn and Renforth, Metro up at Lloyd Manor and Eglinton) no this area has to have some sort of place to get drinks, canned food, frozen food etc. They may not have fresh meat and produce but hey it's better than nothing. As far as a pharmacy goes yes they have a far superior pharmacy and selection than the tiny ones in the strip malls. I like how Shoppers has sort of branched out as a drug store/pseudo grocery store. It's seems more suited for denser neighborhoods but still it's not a real full blown grocery store but it's definitely still a full blown pharmacy.
