The store clerks are very cordial and the postal staff are terrific. Apparently, they'll be relocating to the space vacated by Food Basics. I'm looking forward to the expansion. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

When I was a kid it was a Safeway. As I grew older it became an IGA, then a Price Chopper and now…read moreit's a really large Shoppers Drug Mart. Really large because it used to be in the same strip mall but in the middle causing all sorts of parking issues and traffic. Since it took over the 3 time grocery store foot print why not add groceries to a store that in the past never really sold groceries, at least the frozen kind or the kind that needed refrigeration. This place has a lot going for it. The original store in the middle of the mall had a really small foot print. This area needs to have a grocery store as well. The closest other stores are not walking distance really (Loblaws at East Mall and Burnhamthorpe, No Frills at Rathburn and Renforth, Metro up at Lloyd Manor and Eglinton) no this area has to have some sort of place to get drinks, canned food, frozen food etc. They may not have fresh meat and produce but hey it's better than nothing. As far as a pharmacy goes yes they have a far superior pharmacy and selection than the tiny ones in the strip malls. I like how Shoppers has sort of branched out as a drug store/pseudo grocery store. It's seems more suited for denser neighborhoods but still it's not a real full blown grocery store but it's definitely still a full blown pharmacy.

This SDM is in a busy plaza anchored by Sobeys across from it. I found a parking spot fairly close to the main doors. I backed into it and headed inside. The layout is similar to most SDMs. It was easy to figure out which aisles I needed. I hit the vitamin aisle first. I was pleased that there was a vitamin sale going on. Two other shoppers, both men, were looking at vitamins, too. I got what I needed and continued exploring. This store had a decent selection of plushies. There were a couple of massive teddy bears. I know that they'd fit in my car, but where would I put them at home? Maybe one could be a guard by the door? I got some pop. I forgot to get a carton of eggs. The best price for a dozen is at SDM and Rexall on the weekend these days. A carton goes for $3.49. I hit the self-checkout area and scanned my items. I then loaded them into my reusable bag. I scanned my PC Optimum card and then paid with a credit card. Easy peasy! I placed my items in my car and started to leave. You do need to drive with caution in this lot. There are some drivers who enjoy driving in the middle of a roadway and aren't considerate. I witnessed it first-hand trying to leave. I couldn't because this person was hogging the road and holding up everyone around him. Other than this jerk, I enjoyed shopping here. Maybe it's more relaxed when it's not a weekend. (26)

He apologized when I asked him why he wasn't wearing his mask properly. I thought masks were compulsory. This Shoppers pharmacy gets consistently bad ratings, I have found the staff rude, and ignoring customers or simply walking away in mid sentence. I'm actually thinking of changing pharmacies - no mask was the last straw and it is against the law.

Before it was a shopper's it used to be a Galati Brothers grocery store. It seems in my area of Etobicoke, this is the second current Shopper's Drug Mart that used to be a grocery store (other is at East Mall and Rathburn). The thing is the one at the East Mall and Rathburn which used to be a Price Chopper to me is seemingly much larger and seems to have more variety in the grocery department while this location on Burnhamthorpe just seems to be a smaller footprint with with a significant footprint dedicated to cosmetics. I get that Shopper's is huge on cosmetics and that it makes a huge bulk of their sales but it just seems to be a strange type of store with a mix of things now including what was always a pharmacy and groceries on top. The is a cold aisle at the south side of the store but they just don't have as much as the other location nearby. Still it's either a tiny grocery/pharmacy/cosmetics store or a really large pharmacy if you look at it like that. Parking at BMall is never really a pleasure because the spots are put together poorly and much of it has to do with the way the LCBO loading dock is as well as the parking for the beer store at the eastern exit of the mall. If you want the lights to make a left you have to go out the Beer store way but it's easy making a right out by the close exit near Shopper's.

This drugstore seems smaller than normal, likely because it has been there for ages. There is plenty of parking, even when I was there last Saturday. I was there to get vitamins. I ended up also getting a 12-pack of Diet Coke, too. It happens all the time. I need to get an item and I come out of the store with more. Hey, I love a good sale! I tend to find what I am looking for here. The downside is that you have to ring a bell to get service in the cashout area. I got confused that each cashier had a sign on the counter. Okay, where am I going?! The cashier who eventually came to help me out what pleasant and polite. (157)
