Overall: high quality, fresh seafood for a reasonable price in Paris (6th arrondissement). The only reason why we didn't offer 5 stars was the portion/ratio size (see "Food" section below for more details).
Location: If you are staying local to the Montparnasse area, this is a great spot. It's not necessarily off the beaten path since there are some shops nearby, but it's also not right smack in a busy tourist spot.
Food/price: We thought the quality of the seafood was high for a fair price. While a fair price for seafood, it is still higher than other options (but that's what you get for eating seafood!). We ordered the fried sea-bass and the prawns. The sea-bass was very filling given it was an entire fish! I do wish there was more mashed potatoes on the plate though. Similarly, the prawns were delicious and seasoned so well. But same goes where we wished there was just a little more on the plate as there was only 6 prawns to a small bowl of rice.
Ambiance: There were 2-3 tables for outdoor seating, and plenty of seats indoors. We made a reservation for 6pm to ensure we didn't have to wait, but it appears they open right at 6, so we probably would have been fine. We were the first to arrive and soon after there were a few others that came in as well, so it didn't appear too busy at opening. If you sit indoors, the space is quite small with the kitchen right up front. There appeared to only be 2 chefs in the tiny space, but they were cranking out those dishes!
Service: the waiter/owner greeted us and immediately offered the English menu which was printed on some paper. Not sure if that's indicative of them barely having tourists that frequent the establishment or not! He was nice and served us fairly quickly. We only ordered 2 main dishes, but we were also given an appetizer on the house! We forgot to take a photo, but it was some sort of smoked fish on a sliced baguette; maybe this based on the menu: Saumon gravlax maison, mariné aux herbes (Homemade gravlax salmon, marinated with herbs). read more
