My husband and I decided we wanted to move our large Veno Temp (wine refrigerator) to our back garage from our front garage. The unit weights at least 400 pounds. In our younger days we would have moved it ourselves, But we're in our 60's now and thought we should hire someone to move it for us especially since it had to be tipped back pretty far to get it out of the front garage. I spoke to David to set up the move. He and I agreed to a price and a couple of other items that I wanted moved. We set a day and time. He called me the day before to confirm the day and time. Then on the day we'd agreed to he called early and asked if he could send his guys over early to move the Vino Temp. I agreed to have them come over early. The guys moved the Veno Temp, a couch and chair very quickly and efficiently. They did a great job!! I highly recommend using them. Very professional and personable as well! We hired Loading Helpers to help us out loading up a truck for a long distance move. I worked with Ben and he was great and kept in touch with me throughout the entire process. There were no surprises and both Ben and Dave called the day of the move to make sure everything was done exactly how we wanted. The crew of 4 that showed up were a pleasure to work with as well. They were all very kind and professional and you could tell that even though they were working hard doing something not many enjoy doing, they made the most of it and had fun with it. It is always a hit and miss when you open up a truck after driving it almost 1000 miles but when I opened the truck up at the end of my trip, everything was still exactly where they placed it! I made sure I had plenty of blankets, plastic wrap, ratchet straps, etc so that they were not short anything and they used a lot of what I had there which I was thankful for. I have used this company over many years for several moves and assistance loading up materials from a storage locker. THEY ARE THE VERY BEST. This month I used them again to load a 16' POD for my move to Colorado. Once again PURE GOLD! Junior has been with them for a long time and is just the greatest person ever. This is the second time I have used Loading Helpers. I was preparing my mom's house for sale, and I needed muscle! I hate to admit it, but I'm getting too old to move. I'm not a spry college kid with friends willing to work for beers! Fortunately, there's Loading Helpers! Connected with Ben and he was quick to respond and get me help unloading a 16' moving truck. Junior, Stevie, and Jeramaya were able to unload the truck in 1.5 hours into our 3 bedroom condo. They even assembled all the beds, etc. and helped with furniture arrangement tips. The workers were always respectful asking me where I wanted pieces of furniture placed. They were super careful making sure not to damage the condo or the furniture. Finally, they even folded the furniture pads and stacked them up nicely in the van! Ben was great contacting me multiple times before, during, and after the move to make sure I was well taken care of. Would gladly hire these guys again. Ben was fantastic and got a crew together for me with one day notice to get my stuff moved in, which apparently is no easy feat. He explained to me that it is very difficult to find good crews in general, let alone on short notice. I think he actually had to borrow a crew from another business to get it handled. My move to Reno was a complete disaster because of a car breakdown in Truckee with a Uhaul trailer being towed. It was tough mentally and financially, and I really appreciated Ben having my back and helping me to get the stuff moved out of the trailer and into the apartment. It was not cheap, at least by my standards, but the guys were super professional and efficient. Hell of a lot cheaper than professional movers though and in my case, worth every penny. The crew guys even drove me up to a Mexican restaurant near me to get some lunch as my car was still laid up. I originally wrote a 5 star re view about these guys but now that I unpacked I need to revise my review. Nothing big just a lot of small things. There was a lot of small scraps , nicks and scratchs. There were some broken glass. But the big issue is glass shelf to a curio cabinet that is missing which makes me think they broke it before it even left the old house and nothing was said to me. I just bought a new house out in Spanish Springs and thought I could do it on my own (I was wrong). Fortunately the realtor and real estate firm I used offers moving trucks at no cost if you buy or sell with them. With this in mind I called LoadingHelpers and spoke to Ben about my move. I explained the size of my current house and the size of my new home as well as the amount of floors and any heavy items. I was quoted the price of $896 and got 4 guys for 5 hours. I was also told that if I pay in cash I would save money over using a credit card which was true so I made the decision to pay cash (Ben did take a $200 CC deposit over the phone which was refunded on final payment). I was also told that I could save some money by being flexible on my time which I fortunately was. A call on Saturday had me moving that coming Tuesday which was great. The guys arrived in their own vehicles and I gave them a tour of the house and what was staying and what was going. After that they started loading everything up. They also broke down some of the big furniture I had which was very nice. My daughter and I drove the trucks to the new house and they unloaded quickly and put almost everything right back in the right room and place it should have been. During the moving time I received several calls from Ben asking and and making sure everything was OK which is reassuring. When the guys were done I paid them and they went on there way in their own vehicles. Overall I was happy with the experience. Later in the evening after we moved I did discover that my Tempurpedic Bed had dirty handprints on it and that some of my bedroom dressers had scratches on them. Kind of a bummer but it could have been a lot worse. I would recommend these guys ESPECIALLY if you have access to a truck. Twice in the last nine months, Loading Helpers has come through a crunch. Last July 2023, they fit me in for a very last-minute unload. At the last minute, I sent an email the morning of, and they had us unloaded a few hours later. And today. I'd booked an open-ended unload a couple of weeks ago for a move in May and put a deposit down. The deposit for Loading Helpers is non-fundable. I was confused about it (that's on me), and the confirming email is clear about it. I have since run into medical complications that require me to stay where I'm currently living, so I won't need their help to move. I could cancel the service, and Dave went to bat for me with the owner to ensure I wouldn't be charged. That's above and beyond. I highly recommend Loading Helpers. Yes, their moving guys are fantastic, but so is their management. I hope the owner knows he's got an excellent management team in Reno. Dave and Ben are the best. read more

What a wonderful service! it was worth every penny I paid. The movers showed up right on time and moved everything I needed in the time allotted and even found my missing cat ! Love this company! Ben was super helpful, upfront, and awesome. To appreciate just how great these guys are, here's a little backstory: We called Carneys bc they were one of the only long distance full service moving companies we could find. They booked an appt to assess our stuff 5 days after I called and gave me a tentative move out date. The guy showed up and was super ill prepared, blaming it all on his new asst. He didn't bring the tools to do the estimate (he knew he was coming do assess our stuff, how is that her fault?) and said he'd have to reschedule it. He said the new asst told us the wrong move out date and it would have to be a week later (I tried reminding him that I spoke w him and not his asst regarding the dates, but whatever). He called back that day and said they couldn't do a move this big (I told them everything we had over the phone. Total waste of time that really eat into my move out time and put way more pressure and stress on us). I called another full service moving company (something like Show Us Your Moves) and THEY NEVER EVEN CALLED ME BACK. I was dying with stress! Then I called Loading Helpers. I spoke with Ben who, after I hired UPack and they gave me a delivery date, gave me a three day range to move out. If we did it this way, as opposed to one set day, we saved money. I like that! He said he needed pics of the big items but no one needed to do the assessment and they could definitely do the move. I like that! He called me a couple times to confirm the move and make sure I was feeling comfortable and told me what we should get to be prepared and the cheapest way to get those items (furniture pads, wratchet straps, etc). What moving company does that?? We got the soonest move out date (yay!). The movers were on time, fun guys, and great! Their breaks did not count against our time to move out. They packed efficiently and were just super great. Ben called to make sure things went well and to see if I needed to tell him anything that was wrong (not in the slightest). Just moved into our new place and all of our belongings look great! I really tried to like this company, but when one of the movers, and all of this was only ONE of the movers, was late to my starting point and late to my ending point (even bragging about how fast he had to speed on the freeway to get there because he had to fuel up, so he "went 95 the whole way"), was rude, broke several of my plates and bowls due to slamming and being irresponsible with my belongings, ruining the top of my (now formerly gorgeous) wicker chest, and leaving before time was up despite my asking them to stay and help, I have to give a review and warn people to avoid this company...or at least that mover in general. It's too bad because the other two movers were fantastic; they showed up early, we're cordial and courteous, and were respectful to my items. They stayed for 3.5 hours, but only two movers. I was expecting the third to stay, but he didn't. I paid for 4 full hours, which is fine, but I paid for three men to help, not two. If it wasn't for that one rotten apple, this review would look a lot different. This is the owner's response to my initial post: "Jesse, I am sorry for the damage to the plates and bowls. Thank you for making us aware of that. Please contact me further to discuss the damage. But, a 2 Star review for my crew that you said was "FANTASTIC????" You even said they were fantastic in the review. This should have been a 4 STAR review. You asked my crew to come back in and work for 45 minutes, and they did it FREE OF CHARGE for you, and you still gave us a 2 STAR REVIEW???? Junior took AMAZING care of you during the move, you even told me after the move. I am disappointed with this review after all the effort that we put towards your move. YELP, you should give some guidelines for reviews. Let your members know that if a company is FANTASTIC, that company should get 4-5 STARS and NOT 2 STARS, ha ha...geez..." Please see below: No, they did not "come back" free of charge; I paid for four hours of service and I used as much of that time as possible. I only used around 3.5 hours of that time and toward the end only 2 of your guys stayed to help, so you should be thankful that a) your guys didn't have to work as much and you STILL got all my money and b) that you saved that money by Junior releasing your other employee. Again, Yelpers, I paid for FOUR HOURS of service for THREE men and although I only kept the movers for 3.5 hours, one of them was LATE to begin with at was LATE to my ending point and THEN left before I was ready for him to. As if my initial review wasn't enough, look at the response I got from the owner. Is this really someone you want to support? Is this a business that should flourish based on how the owner himself publicly spoke to me, a former justifiably disgruntled customer, on Yelp? I had to schedule a move quickly and called the loading helpers, they gave me a quote and even helped me find a moving truck. On the day of the move the guys showed up on time and ready to move. They loaded the truck quickly and carefully and they really seemed to care about my items. They brought their own materials and they were willing to move everything! One of the movers even used his own truck to move my couches to avoid making multiple trips!!! It was so nice!
