Reno Movers were on time, efficient, and helpful. They did an amazing job of loading our POD, using every square inch to the maximum.

The movers were great, the company was not. The company is not forthcoming about pricing. They told me the hourly rate, mileage rate and stair rate but never mentioned anything about a 5 hour minimum. Unfortunately, I did not directly ask about the minimum hours because every company I called prior gave me a 2 hour minimum so I assumed that was standard practice since I was not told otherwise. When I was getting a quote over the phone I did ask for an estimate to be sent to me and they refused (that should have been the red flag). Again, he did not mention how much the total would be for 5 hours, just told me the hourly rate. Nonetheless, I went with the company. The movers were there for 3 hours and when the bill came I was charged for 5 hours. I called the company and there was no customer service, the guy was argumentative and was raising his voice. He blamed me for not doing research to find out about the 5 hour minimum (it's not on their website) and said he tells everyone about the minimum. I can assure you if I was told about the minimum I would not have gone with the company. The man also informed me that he secretly recorded my previous phone call with him. There was never information provided to me that I was being recorded nor did I consent to that. Very shady and untrustworthy company. read more

You never know what you're gonna get with a moving company which is why making the right pick is absolutely imperative. For back story I operate college bookstores for a living and when I heard one of our stores was going to have to move, I was STRESSED. We literally have TONS of books that need to get moved. Like tons... as in the unit of measure, not the figure of speech. After quoting out five different moving companies, I knew Nick was my guy. He was extremely polite and flexible to meet our needs. With only a weeks notice, Nick made all my timelines despite him and his company already being swamped that week. We had to move over 200 boxes, each loaded with 45 pounds of books plus 30 cumbersome wooden shelves, and 30-35 unwieldy metal shelves (all broken down). Nick scheduled 5 guys and a huge truck to come out, estimating our move to take an entire day. The guys were prompt arriving 5 minutes before our agreed upon meeting time at 9am. Only 4 out of the 5 guys arrived, as one flaked, but the other 4 got the entire job done in about 6 hours (saving us money and time). Each mover was kind and hard working. Hopefully we don't have to move again anytime soon, but if I do, I'll be using Reno Tahoe Movers. read more

I would highly recommend Reno Tahoe Movers, 100%. This is my second time using them. They showed up and I had everything boxed up so they just had to place it in the truck. They provided wrapping for things that may come open in transit, pictures, dressers, and my TV. They were very helpful and friendly. They took the time to properly place everything in the moving truck and also tied it down securely. They wasted no time getting to my new location and got to work immediately. I wasn't certain that everything would fit in my storage unit but, they did such an excellent job placing everything perfectly. They took a reasonable amount of time and also did a very good job. I needed a crew to rearrange furniture from upstairs to downstairs. I was having hardwood floors put in and needed their help. I had to change the date a couple of times and they were available to do the job even though I changed the dates. They came to my home on time. They did a terrific job of taking my furniture down the stairs. They also took about twenty boxes to the garage. They did shrink wrap on some of the pieces of furniture so they could get my dressers down in one piece without having to take any drawers out of the dressers. They were very courteous and they did the job under the allotted time. I will use Reno Tahoe movers again for the furniture return back upstairs. Thanks so much for such a good moving job. read more

Unfortunately the day I needed to move (last April) brought a snow storm to Tahoe. I booked these movers because another company flaked. They asked me how much stuff I had and I estimated. They didn't come check for themselves. (I'm a single mom, two kids). After 3/4 of the truck was packed, they said they couldn't fit the rest resulting in either half my stuff moving another day or getting a second truck. I was moving 90 miles away. It was a blizzard. I was stressed. And they doubled the price at the last minute for that extra truck. I ended up paying $9k for the move and feel like I got screwed. Was part of it my fault? Sure. Did the price need to be doubled at the last minute? Probably not, since it was just an additional truck, no extra labor. I'm sure this company is good for easy in town moves, just watch out if anything goes wrong. read more

Do not use this company. They care absolutely nothing about customer service. I had a complaint about a fee I was charged, when I was not told about the fee upfront. They said that's impossible we tell everyone. I again reiterated I wasn't told. They said "well its easy to forget things when you are moving". I asked to speak to the owner, and was told he would call back "if he felt like it". I am absolutely flabbergasted at the disregard of this company for their customers. I have found other moving companies in the area who charge less, are kind to work with, and actually believe in customer service. Don't get into bed with these people. read more

Nick was great to talk to on the phone discussing options and made sure my needs were covered. Hired on 9/12 for a move on 9/26 guaranteeing a crew would be here. They called on 9/25 to confirm the plan and assured the crew would be at my old address between 12-2 with another phone call in the morning with a better ETA. I rented a truck and had everything boxed and ready to go by 12. Thought it was odd I didn't get a morning phone call and no movers in site by 1pm. I called Nick and he said the crew I reserved was no longer available but he had another crew that 'might' be able to stop by around 4pm I told him I was almost done moving myself but could use the help with the big furniture items...maybe 30 minutes of work. He still insisted on charging me the 2 hour minimum then hung up on me. This is completely unprofessional leaving us high and dry. My poor petite wife had to help me. Guess with the money I saved on movers will send her to the spa. Obviously money is their motivation where small moves are unimportant and ignored. read more
