This is the second time I'm 3 weeks my boyfriend and I have made a trip from Beaumont to LLLReptile . He usually has a good experience looking around and buying pets and supplies. Two weeks ago we stopped and he was ignored and when he did get the employee to help he was just sitting and looking at him and had no answer to anything and wouldn't step out from behind the counter to assist him with a purchase. It was really hot inside the store more than usual and while sweating and waiting for them to get something off their shelves we walked out empty handed. Now today it was the same attitude and no interest in customers today another guy walked out after being ignored. We still spent $536. Hi my name is Stephanie! I would highly recommend this business to anybody interested in adopting a Reptile or needing any type of supplies. Megan took time to explain to my daughter very specific details on taking care of a snake. She also went as far as to take a snake out of one of the containers and demonstrate what the bite looks like to show my daughter that the bites are not as harmful as we would have assumed. She explained that it's sometimes very common for baby snakes to bite because they need to get used to their new environment and their handler; so they know that they are not in danger. We also spoke with Morgan, and he was very detailed in his explanations of the different types of Rosie boas. He also explained that since they are native to California, they require a specific ID number from their breeder and to make sure that I have that. He informed us that the albino versions of the Rosie boas are exempt from this number. They showed me different versions and different pictures of Rosie boas and gave me plenty of information on where I could look for one including the San Diego Reptile show. I hope I am able to purchase one from them, but if not, I will definitely use one of their recommendations. Thank you!!! read more

Seems like I come here 3 times a week. Our Chameleons eat a load of crickets and other fun bugs! Get your crickets when they come in! We went last Sunday and probably 50% of them died within 1 hour of being home. This isn't normal so not sure what happened. All of the employees are always nice and super helpful!! read more

But when I went in 2 days ago I was so shocked and confused as to who had such a poor lapse in judgment as to put a beta fish in maybe 2 inches of water? with less than 2 inches diameter this is one of the worst fish conditions I've ever seen in any store. Not sure if they are so knowledgeable about reptiles that they lack sense about fish but this was disgusting and left a horrible taste in my mouth. my gosh do I wish they had a second location by Menifee. Because I can't with the employees here. I've been coming here pretty regularly (for crickets and frozen rats) since 2019. And unfortunately this isn't the first bad review I've had to leave. Its mostly the employees. They're always so unwelcoming. Very rude. Very annoyed with the fact that they have to answer questions. The manager just sits there in her phone. Doesn't even notice customers. I went there yesterday and got my crested gecko a very low watt heating lamp. Our heating pad wasn't cutting it and it's been dropping into very low temps lately. So the guy helped me. I had mentioned a few times. If my gecko doesn't like it can I return it. And they said yes. So I left. Wasn't given a receipt for my purchase. Went back today to return the thermostat/hygrometer cuz the suctions cups are crap. And brought in the light, I had also bought the day before, with questions. First of all the girl that greeted me. I'm so sad I didn't catch a name cuz I would totally name drop right now. But she right off the bat gave me an attitude saying that they didn't accept returns unless I had a receipt. I said he didn't give me one. Thankfully the manager that was there yesterday was there again today. She offered to give me store credit because I mentioned I was going to be buying a whole new terrarium and substrate with decorations n stuff. Just said ok we will hold this till your ready to check out. I shop. Find random stuff and start checking out. The manager had to make a special order for a terrarium for me. Mind u she also wasn't very welcoming. Very passive aggressive. Literally treat u like ur stupid for asking a question. The girl at the register rings me up and starts to tell me she's going to give me 2 receipts for "extra security". Giiiiirl the audacity. HE DIDN'T GIVE ME ONE lol didn't offer. Nothing. I just grabbed my stuff, said bye thank you and left. But giving me 2 receipts..... that's extra. Like I said. Very passive aggressive. Unfortunately ill still be shopping here. It's either this or petsmart/petco. And they just don't carry good crickets n stuff. It's nice to go into a store that has just the stuff I need and that's it. I have been coming to this store for years. Over the last 2 years I have been going to The Reptile Shop in Temecula because LLL doesn't have all the feeder sizes I need for my reptiles. First time back in a long time today and my son came with $400 for a reptile he was saving for. The new staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, they were scared to handle some of their own animals and they have a huge lack of information on the animals they keep. They really need to hire people with better customer service. I definitely don't recommend coming to this location. You want a family friendly reptile store, got to The Reptile Shop of Winchester. In response to your commen of my review: Ive been in the Pet industry for 21 years as well as managing in a few different pet stores. We keep many species of reptiles and amphibians and breed several species at home. If the animal in question is so dangerous why keep them in your store? We had absolutely no Intention of touching him, but we did want a better view since he was on an upper shelf. So saying we took the snake out of its enclosure is completely false and the fact you need to lie about is disgusting behavior. When I expressed intrest no one came over to help us with him, no one came to explain us about the specific care and habitat requirements the only answer I was given is that if you want him we box him up and give him to you sight unseen. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable and you do the reptile industry a disservice. We keep and breed hognose as well which is also a rear venomous snake but the venom is mild and more like a bee sting and the likelihood of getting hit by these rear fangs is unlikely unless your dumb enough to stick your finger down their throat. read more

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Don't let the size of this place fool you, it is paced with knowledge and great finds. I spent about 2 hours here yesterday just soaking up knowledge and playing with the animals. The team here was so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed and well prepared to purchase and take care of my new bearded dragon, Peaches. It was a huge task, taking on a long living pet and I wanted to be sure I could do it. They instilled a lot of confidence and let me know they were there for the long run. Megan was patient and warm. She didn't get annoyed with my millions of questions and uncertainty.
