Been contacting owner to see puppies. Once we agreed upon a time (same day), she told me CASH ONLY as the time was short & she had another appt. We wouldn't be able to get there in time. She could've told us this the day before, as I chatted with her via email then. Allowing time to pass until an hour before to give the ONLY method of payment allowed wasn't enough. After she changed the timeframe, she said that was a bad time also. Other people have schedules also & we really wanted 1-2 pups. It's not that hard. I found Wendover Terriers 5 months after my Welsh Terrier passed away. I was so unhappy and missed having a four legged best friend. My husband was out of town when I found my dog at Wendover. I called him and said that I needed money right now! It was a Saturday morning and I was going to Riverside to get the beautiful little dog that April had. I can't say enough about April and Wendover Terriers. We have had Dixie just over two weeks and are so in love with her! When I began my search in August to find my new furry best friend I came across Wendover Terriers. At first I kept looking elsewhere because of my financial situation, but two things persuaded me it was worth it. One, I instantly fell in love with a beautiful little puppy and two, I appreciated the effort April puts into her breeding decisions, from socializing the puppies to testing for inherited diseases. The genetic testing was particularly important to me because I had just lost my Cairn Terrier and I needed some peace of mind about the health of my new puppy. I was very anxious to meet my little girl but April always prioritizes the safety of the puppies so I had to wait until I picked her up. April understood how exited I was and regularly sent me photos as well as a video of my puppy playing outside for the first time. When I went to pick Bailey up, April discussed with me my puppy's temperament and how she was definitely a hand-full (boy is she). Even though she had already secured payment, she wanted to make sure that this uniquely dominant and hyper puppy found the right match. Bailey definitely caused many sleepless nights for the first month and challenges me to this day but she is a joyous, clever, cuddly puppy. We have so much fun training together, which is why I would recommend attending puppy training classes with this breed. IMPORTANT. I purchased a puppy from April Adams. She put the puppy on a plane and we picked her up at the airport. We got her home and put her in the bathtub. She was covered in urine and feces which was not surprising as she had been on a plane all day. What was surprising is that she was eating her feces. We gave her food and water and bathed her. The puppy continued to eat feces and drink urine. We were not surprises to find out that she had a parasite. Potty training was difficult as she tried to hide feces so she could eat it later. Then she was diagnosed with Giardia. I emailed April Adams when I realized that my puppy was predisposed to deadly diseases because of this nasty habit. I was furious. April denied having any knowledge of this PREEXISTING CONDITION and I do not believe her for one minute. She contradicted herself several times when she explained where the puppy lived before we bought her. She said she had to google poop eating because she didnt know much about it, which I do not believe either. Watch this website and see how this woman pumps out puppies. It is down right disturbing . She knows some dogs eat poop and she knew this one did. She could have warned us but she did not. When confronted, she denied having any knowledge. Never did she offer us any money back for our troubles and bills. We love our puppy and we are doing the best we can for her. Given her OBSESSION with eating poop and drinking urine, we don't expect her to live very long. If she dies in the first year of her life, April's health guarantee will kick in. After looking for quite a bit for lower priced dogs, Wendover seemed to be the most responsive and legitimate breeder I came across. April (owner) was extremely responsive, and was quite knowledgable regarding this breed. She regularly posted updated photos and videos of the puppy we reserved, and answered any questions I had very quickly as we waited for him to be old enough to go home. Im writing this review about April Adams, the breeder. Let me first say that I got a beautiful dog from Wendover terriers. The complaint I have is the way in which April responded during our transactions. When I first contacted her about purchasing a dog, she responded via email as she does not hardly check her messages via phone. She told me this in person as well as its on her recording. So we communicated over email. She responded everytime I contacted her until after I purchased the dog. When I was paying her the $950 for the dog, she stated to me and my mom that she would be there for us always if we had any questions. After I took my little Jaci home, I contacted April about the dates on her paperwork. One had one birthdate and one had another. After I phoned her, so called me back and said that the birthing took place over two days. Made sense...I wasn't questioning her per say. I just didn't know if made any difference on her pedigree papers. Also, I asked her if she had been too young to let go. Jaci was 55 days old and April stated to me that her vet releases pups at 7 weeks. Again, I wasn't sure, just asking a question. Even though I had two Jacks before, it's been 16 1/2 years since I've had a puppy. I thought that these were reasonable questions. After the first night, I emailed April and told her how Jaci was doing and she responded with an email. Here's where it starts to get weird......I then emailed her and asked he about the Nylabones she had told me to get and never got a response back. I sent her another messages a couple of days later with a picture of Jaci, just letting her know that she was doing well. Also, a girlfriend of mine had called her that was interested in one of her pups and she told me she never got a response back. So I told my girlfriend that she should email her but that I had emailed her and never got an answer. I even sent April a message asking her nicely if the contact info was still good. Still no answer.......I don't understand why someone would not respond if they cared as much as she said she did. My girlfriend ended up getting a dog from one of her friends because f the lack of response. I feel that April was right there while I was buying but disappeared after. Even if she felt I was bugging her, which I wasn't, she could have just answered as I was just concerned about the dog I purchased from her. She should have felt some kind of responsibility for real, as she stated to my face while I was handing her money. What concerns me most about all this is, what's happens If I have a problem with the dog and she has a one year health guarantee, and she never responds! I'm so disappointed in April Adams and her customer service. The breeder I got my dogs from before, Suzee Bedigan in Jamul, Ca was the best. Unfortunately, she no longer has Jacks. She was always there for me during my time of owning my dogs. Always answered questions along the years. I believe that April could use some of Suzees customer service skills. read more
