We took our two girls Ember & Holly to Puppy Boot Camp at K9 Companions and we're so happy we did. They made great strides! They also helped us with the support of a home visit and refresh training when the girls are boarded. We will be testing for their CGC titles in just a few months and i'm very excited for that. We get comments on how well-behaved they are when we go out. The owner and trainers have been a joy to work and we look forward to more visits in the future.

Amazing experience!!!! K9 Companions came highly recommended by a friend and her recommendation was spot on. My Zeus attended the K9 Boot Camp. It was hard to leave him for 2 weeks but I knew it was the best thing for him. He did so well and everyone at K9 Companions treated Zeus and myself so well. And he now has manners hahaha. Kidding aside I've learned so much through K9 Companions and I'm grateful to everyone and especially his trainer Ashley. So excited for our follow up visits and I now have a safe place for Zeus to be boarded when needed. I highly recommend K9 Companions for you and your pets.

I can't thank K9 companions enough for working with our 2yr old Doberman Bella. We got her from the shelter 3 months prior to enrolling her in boot camp and was excited to see how smart she could be. Since completion, walks are so much easier and commands at home are close to perfection. Looking forward to some additional training through K9 companions in the near future!

Our Australian Shepherd Ozzie has attended the 2 Week Boot Camp Training with outstanding results !!! He's done Board and Brush Up as well several times over the last two years. He loves going to K-9 Companions and always gets excited when we are within 1/4 mile of arriving there !!! The entire K-9 Companions Team are awesome, super helpful and very responsive !!!

I found this place when I was looking to have my fur baby service trained. They understand how to work with veterans and my Palo has gotten significantly better during his first phase of training. I'm looking forward to the journey and recommend K9 companions with confidence. Also, they have the best boarding prices I've seen so far.

I have been going to K-9 Companions for about five years. My German Shepherd is reactive and they treat her so well. The trainers , management and office staff are very knowledgeable and very nice. They are always very helpful. I appreciate everything they have done with Dixie and I will always continue to go to K-9 Companions. So, if you're looking for a place to train and board, this is the place to go.

Just an amazing experience for my Golden! She is just a fast learner. We highly recommend BootCamp packet. Our Golden learned so much and is much more calm and relaxed. Such a happy and golden with manners! So grateful for this experience.

Amazing job on our furbabies. They trained them better than we could ever imagine. We are training for conformation and therapy dog training. I cannot believe the transformation. We are going back on the 26th for testing:) We just brought two more pups to them. I love that they train pups for people with all kinds of disabilities. They work with a lot of veterans and even pair pups up with veterans.

Diesel graduated on April 24th he has done such an amazing job since graduating. He is more enjoyable to walk. He follows directions and commands with ease. After two weeks at Boot Camp, his trainer, Ashley came to our house to revisit some of the commands and teach new ones. She was so patient canine companions such a blessing to dogs and their families.

Do you use choke collars during training?

Yes, we do. We utilize positive reinforcement training.

I have two Akitas one 6 months and one 2 years. If we only decide to take the younger pup to boot camp will the other dogs behavior and bad habits have an influence on the younger pup?

No, because the problem child is learning "NO" means correction, and the things you learn with the trained dog , you can implement with the other dog.

He was cowering and acting scared even around me and wouldn't leave his crate. It resolved after a week or two, but it disturbed me as well as how rough he was in the videos

With Tony, this was definitely addressed along with a few other things such as staying in place and following commands. However, with a board and train, I only received about 3 videos per day (~15-20 minutes total). I regrettably did not review the videos in detail as I was so concentrated on the results. There was A LOT of yanking. For a big dog, it may not be so much an issue. With a pomeranian, you can literally yank their necks and even lift with a leash (which I saw on some occasions). My dog eventually developed trachea problems which is so unfortunate. I was new to dog ownership but as I reviewed the videos now, I cannot say I agree with Tony's training methods. Please be careful with smaller dogs if you decide to use his services as it seems Tony doesn't seem to treat big or small dogs any differently in terms of training method (yanking a big dog vs a small dog).

She used her pet communication skills and contacted Mackenzie. Jen asked her what happened that caused her passing. Mackenzie communicated back that she had eaten something. I now know what happened. Not just handle them. Not just manage them. Truly understand them. That ends here. Most trainers are obedience-based. But far fewer truly understand the inner world of dogs--their nervous systems, their drives, their emotional states, and the nuance behind what they're expressing. I recommend Illya and Johanna at Topline K9 without hesitation. They get dogs. And more than that--they understand people. Because the human side of the equation is 90% of any "dog training." This is a bit long, but stick with me, it's worth the read. :)…read more I want to share this because I know how overwhelming life with dogs can feel when things spiral out of control, and because truly great dog trainers are rare. Last year, I lost my dog Chloe. I had her for 15 years, and losing her completely broke my heart. Afterward, I adopted Lily, a multipoo who had never been out of a cage. She came from a puppy mill and was deeply traumatized. She shook constantly, wouldn't come to me, wouldn't let me touch her, and had severe anxiety. She was peeing and pooping in the house nonstop. I tried everything I knew. I tried love, patience, reassurance. Nothing worked. I was exhausted and completely at a loss. Then life threw me another curveball. A client of mine broke her hip after tripping over her dog and had to move into assisted living. I took in her one-year-old Schipperke named Daisy. If you aren't familiar with this breed, 'the little black devil.' Daisy is the sweetest, smartest dog in the world and also an absolute mischievous chainsaw in a tiny body. Endless energy, barking at people and dogs, running through the house nonstop, biting my neighbor on the ankle and even the gardener, and bullying Lily relentlessly. My house turned into chaos overnight. On top of that, I still had my 13-year-old dog Rocky, who is basically the best-behaved dog on the planet and thankfully not part of the problem. I didn't know what to do anymore. That's when I called Jennifer. Jen took Daisy for a two-week board-and-train, and when Daisy came home, she was a completely different dog. Not perfect, but honestly a million times better. She sleeps in a crate now, no longer bullies Lily, listens extremely well, and while she still barks, it's nothing like before. We're still working on it with Jen, but the transformation was incredible. After that, I sent Lily to Jen. What happened next honestly felt like a miracle. Lily no longer pees or poops in the house. She sleeps in a crate. She comes when I call her. She's happy. She plays. She acts like a dog now, not a scared abuse victim. She still has moments of anxiety and fear, but she is doing a million times better, and the difference is night and day. Jen didn't just train my dogs. She gave them structure, confidence, and safety. She gave me peace in my own home again. She understands dogs on a level that is rare, especially dogs with trauma, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. If you are struggling, overwhelmed, or don't know what else to do, I cannot recommend Jen enough. She is patient, intuitive, honest, and incredibly skilled. She truly changed our lives.
