I was pretty disappointed with the service. Took my Goldendoodle for grooming had to pick him up early. The groomer said that he was too hyper. I was asked to take him back the following Monday which I did but felt that the groomer was just giving me so many excuses. She even said I should try pet smart. I get it, doodles can be hyper but if you're offering grooming services and can't handle doodles, maybe you shouldn't take them in. I never had a problem with him before. He went in with a long beautiful coat and picked him up looking very choppy. Half way done. Very short coat on the body and back legs. My dog is on a prescription diet for pancreatitis. I have a prescription that says the actual prescription that my dog is supposed to be on. There are two different types id hills and I was sold the wrong one so my dog ate the wrong food for almost 2 months, and he went into a pancreatitis episode. So even though you get a prescription from a veterinarian saying that your animal can only have this certain stuff, they'll sell you whatever just because you have a prescription. Whether it's the wrong stuff or not. And that's what the lady that I just got off the phone with said. My dog could die from this. This is very serious. read more

This review is for the Petco doggie self wash station as well as the Groomers who trimmed my dogs claws. This is a hidden gem and only certain Petco have them. I'm glad my local Petco has this. You have to pay at the dog groomer cash register. The station itself has 3 tubs and beware the floor's are wet! You will also get very wet even though they provide you with an apron which is nice. They do provide the doggie shampoo but we bought flea shampoo at Petco. The whole process is pretty easy. Dogs don't like it but it beats doing it at home. It is far more affordable doing it yourself than at the groomers. I also inquired about nail clipping which they worked us in quickly which I appreciate! read more

Located in the 'Countryside Marketplace' shopping center, next to 'Staples', with plenty of parking. This store is always fully stocked with happy paws shopping away. Besides Pet food/nutrition they also have most pet supplies, basic medication, dog training, grooming services, and even vet care. Service is okay, but can be friendlier at the register. I usually order online but often visit the store when I need something sooner for my pup. I've always had a good experience at this location and will definitely return. read more

I was ready to purchase a whole bunch of angelfish, cory, and tetras as a gift for a friend who just started a new aquarium. I also wanted to pick up a few fish for my pond. All available. What was NOT available was anybody in the aquatic department to fish them out for me. I asked several times at the cash register because I know how slow they always are when it comes to the aquatic department. They just kept saying "he's busy. He's also responsible for birds and crickets." - OK, but there was nobody in the bird department either... or the whole store, except for the dog grooming. I decided that I'd leave after 30 minutes of waiting, and that's what I did! UNBELIEVABLE. It's 10:30 in the morning and I'll now go to Petsmart. Well done, Petco! read more

I brought my 5-month-old Bernedoodle to Petco for a simple bath and dry -- no haircut, just a shampoo. Within minutes of dropping her off, I received a call saying she was "severely matted" and needed a vet or haircut appointment. This was shocking and inaccurate. My puppy is brushed 3-4 times daily, bathed every Sunday, (since she was a month old) and her coat is maintained with conditioner. The only area I had noted was a small knot near her right ear from a necklace she wore. I even told them about this when I dropped her off. Instead of addressing it, Petco exaggerated the situation, claiming she was also "severely matted". That was not true -- it was a very small tangle from a new harness, nothing that couldn't be handled with basic brushing and needed to be done by a veterinarian (her vet is at vetco). For confirmation, I immediately took her to another grooming facility. They had no issue bathing her and brushed out the areas easily. I also consulted her veterinarian, who confirmed there was no medical reason she would need to be sent to a vet for matting. This experience makes me question whether Petco simply doesn't want to deal with doodles or energetic puppies. My dog is playful but never ever aggressive. What I encountered felt less like genuine concern for her welfare and more like laziness and avoidance of doing their job. Groomers should love animals, have patience, and be willing to deal with challenges. If you don't want to do the hard parts of grooming, you shouldn't be in this profession. I pay $85-$100 every week for her care. I should have the right to decide if and when she gets a haircut. Instead, I was treated as if my healthy, well-cared-for puppy was neglected -- which is insulting and untrue. In my opinion, the staff here are lazy, dismissive, and not genuinely invested in caring for the animals they're entrusted with. I will not be returning to Petco grooming. read more

Booked an appt at Petco Grooming @Menifee and they did an excellent job w/refreshing our baby with their seasonal shampoo! Service was exceptional as they were very patient and flexible with our appt time. I was able to call the Temecula Vetco on the spot to get verbal confirmation that our pup was vaccinated 24hrs prior to her appt. The grooming took about 2hrs including bath package with spring package, & tick prevention treatment for $85 total. read more

This is so bad.. These are photos from one 1 mouse enclosure but majority of the small rodents enclosures look like this. They are living in filth. I have rats, these types of animals relieve themselves often since their digestive systems / metabolisms work very fast. With the amount of mice in those cages, they should be getting cleaned out DAILY. This is so disgusting and a complete health hazard. No animal, no matter how small, should live like this. I was very disappointed with my experience. Despite providing everything they asked for, the staff repeatedly found excuses not to groom my dog. I understand our dog needed a haircut, that's exactly why we made the appointment, but they refused to do it. They even "advised us" to go to a vet that provided grooming. We were able to to get our dog groomed at another facility, accomplishing everything they claimed they couldn't do. And they did so safely without injuring our dog. Very frustrating experience from a "franchise" and would recommend them finding staff that doesn't come off as lazy or unwilling. read more

I had to return an item from an online purchase on Sunday right after store opening. Going to the website the return process couldn't have been easier, it gave the option of returning straight to the store so I figured that would be the easiest and best option. The cashier was friendly but had to call a manager over to approve the return and the manager couldn't have been more unprofessional. Stating that the store normally doesn't accept returns for online items that are not sold in their particular store. Strange because the website sure makes it easy to return the item to any store, plus how could I know if the store carries that particular item. Anyway she whined about not havening a place to put the item but said she would give the return and then left. Very unprofessional and i would imagine she needs further training. read more

We took our dog Sake in for grooming and paid almost $64. We picked her up and she still smelled and her hair still felt greasy like she wasn't bathed properly. We paid to have her teeth bruised as well but it appears nothing was done except brushing her hair. We will not be returning! read more

I'd give zero stars if Yelp allowed it, to that red-haired staff member with the pink shirt at the Jr Petco team this one for you, Not only did she ignore my request for help, but she also shadowed us throughout the store when we shopped. When I asked for assistance, she claimed to be busy and had someone else attend to me, yet she found time to trail behind us until we reached the register. To make matters worse, I suspect she was the source of the foul odor I noticed, as she was the one following us. We have taken our dog here for YEARS. We've always been so pleased with the results with one exception. (Exception: one of ours is super anxious and he pooed on the way into the kennels. They called us back into the store to take him back home and not to bring him there again! He's a dog! Don't you people know how some dogs have issues? Once the poop is out, it's likely not going to happen again. Give him a break and some kindness!!!!) Anyway, as disturbing as that was, we obeyed and never brought him back. But our other dog was always welcomed there and loved. Our grooming began at $28 for our little dog. Then it jumped to $48. Then, up to $70+. Our regular groomer left the company. When we returned to a recommended groomer, we expected the same love and service we always got. Well!!!! The price went up to nearly $90 (without tip) for the same exact groom service AND our dog was loaded with white "dandruff" on her back which (when we got home) were EASILY combed right out in less than two minutes! We were charged for all kinds of extras - I have no receipt to tell you what they were for! Her ears were not cleaned and they smelled badly. I cleaned them. Needless to say, we cannot bring our dog back again - REALLY disappointed. We'd been coming for years! She had always had the best care and attention by her previous groomer, but that one left PETCO and we're now stuck on where to go. I'm furious at the EXTRA fees and the lack of "finish our dog exhibited. EXPENSIVE. SAD. SO Disappointed in these people and the PETCO extreme rapid rise in pricing! That's bad enough, but to have your groomer add extras that we never asked for and do a very mediocre job - inexcusable. WOW. read more

DO NOT go to the VETCO clinic here! Dogs are an AMAZING judge of character!!!!!!!!!!! I brought my pitbull and the stereotype started. I came here to get my dog vaccinated for his registration ... I was on my knees with my dog calming him down and he stayed still, I'm someone familiar, but they told me to back up away from my dog and leave him with two strangers while they probed his ears... If I'm not near my dog or touching my dog, his anxiety Can ramp up... and it did. The vet tech (not too bright) said "mom doesn't give the vaccinations" well if I'm not near my dog in a strange place, he isn't happy, so let me hold MY own dog while the vaccination is given (just a common sense thought!) The OLDEST most UNCARING vet, without saying what he was going to do essentially came up behind my dog, and lifted the dogs ear, scaring him, then proceeded to shove his thermometer in his ear, and my dog hated it. Don't come up behind any dog or make sudden movements... introduce yourself and stick out a hand, right? Or have owner nearby...So, he should have handed the probe to me, right? Or even had me come hold my dog with peanut butter or something to distract him.. not separate the dog from the owner, come up behind him and probe his ears!! My dog is most comfortable with ME, not an old ass vet and a vet tech that is just looking my dog up and down. They explained they were trying to take vitals.. I take vitals every day at my job and more! I've been in the healthcare field long enough to know if a patient is uncomfortable, talk to the person they trust and coach that person through it. Perhaps use a different tone, or technique. They muzzled him, which is perfectly fine with me!! He proceeded to growl, but the muzzle was tight. Then the pair of incompetent vet and vet tech did the same exact thing (snuck up behind my dog and shoved it in his ear) Then the old and scared doctor AND vet tech backed up like two scared chihuahuas. They acted as if they never handled dogs. If you have a passion for being a vet and a vet tech, get in there.... Do your job!! Know what to do and what NOT to do! Know different techniques, tricks of the trade!!! Funny thing is: at his vet, he NEVER acts like that, because the tech is on her knees petting him with a treat, and talking softly to him...(you know... your job as a vet tech) the vet never approaches from behind and sticks things in his ears without a pet on the head and treat in her hand and most important: me as the familiar face that he lives with near him telling him it's okay. Point is, sorry you get paid minimum wage and have to work on a Sunday, but don't stereotype my dog or me again. Not all people want designer dogs. There are many types and personalities of dogs out there... (know how to handle them at a minimum as a part of your job or get out of the field.. Know most dogs don't like their ears touched! They don't like people coming from behind him. I've never heard him growl like that ... ever!!!! You think all my patients are easy? Heck no! But what I do is pull out all the tricks in the book to get the job done. BOTH vet tech AND VET should be embarrassed. read more

I called at 3:00pm to let the clinic know I would be late and the rude manager who wouldn't give me her name refused to help me tell them I would be about 15 mins late to my appointment and hung up on me. I was at the stairs late last month with my wife and child to purchase some supplies for my pet. My wife and daughter had to use the restroom and noticed the Caution wet floor placard on the floor with the cart on the side not blocking restroom door. So as the Caution sign shows wet floor. One of the employees Lisa or Elisa started to rebuke my wife and child because she had cleaned the floor in the restroom and said the it was closed for cleaning. My wife apologizes to the employee but Lisa still insisted that it was closed several times more thereafter. This obviously made my wife very upset. 1. My wife was treated not that of a customer. Very impolite and unbecoming of a customer service representative of any store. 2. The signs did not state that the restroom was closed for cleaning. 3. My wife's apology meant nothing to the employee's behavior. I like Petco store but I would prefer another location. Booked a dog training class November 12, 2024 that was scheduled to start today 11/24/24 at 1pm. Got an email confirmation and received three text messages over the last week including today to remind us that training starts today. I got to Petco at 12:50pm and noticed the dog training area had a bunch of dog food stacked in the area so I went to the front and asked. A young cashier spoke with me and said the dog trainer doesn't get here until 2:30pm today. I showed her the confirmation of training and she had an attitude and asked if I wanted a manager. Manager came out and said she didn't know what happened and was trying to get in touch with Hayley (the trainer) but that her schedule was that she would be in today at 2:30pm. I asked the manager how no one seems to know the schedule but have sent multiple reminders via text that the class started today at 1pm. She couldn't give me an answer other than "I don't know what's going on". This is poor customer service when Petco lists a class starting at 1pm and there is no dog trainer until 2:30pm and a manager that doesn't know what's going on in a store she manages. read more
