Not very happy about my experience my dog was a toy poodle and I advise the groomer to trim my dog this is probably the second or third time she's done this her name is Suzanne, I'm sure she means well but if I say trim my dog don't go out and cut him till he's like skin short and she would say oh he was matted she couldn't do it okay if that's the case then you should definitely let the owner know if they want to continue rather than cutting all of his hair because that's not what I wanted. I can tell you for a FACT my Aussidoodle was NOT matted nor was he EVER deeply matted as she implied and that is a true pure FACT. I had to keep my boy covered up whenever he went outside for fear of sunburn. I also had to treat his cuts daily until they healed. NOT A PROFESSIONAL SAFE OR GOOD PLACE. Response back to you, 1 you never talked to our vet, you talked to the receptionist who gave you just vague reasons that could case these injuries. You called our vet and acted like we were with you to discuss our dogs on speaker phone, vet never took your call. We have verified this with our vet. Actually Our vet said, environmental things don't know to be in a straight line like the injuries in pictures on our dogs. Burns from hot tools can. Because our dogs are not shaved short, yes we didn't notice at first but once they started bleeding and hair started falling out, then we took to vet and had that area shaved, is when the injuries could be seen . Yes it was the first time at your place, but if we had looked at your reviews of other strange injuries animals received at your facility , there would have never been a FIRST!!! read more

My dog was so unevenly cut and buzzed in patches. I rescued an English Bull dog named King Arthur (1 year old) that had some sad issues with ticks and fleas and smell. It hurt my heart to see such a magnificent loving dog in such condition (especially with a name like king Arthur); I called Lake Elsonore Animal Hospital and scheduled for an emergency visit and was told they could see me right away for an extra fee (emergency fee). I am not rich and the fee of $200 in these times was a stretch for me but I decided I had to help this dog right away. The $200 at the hospital would of only covered an exam and medication to rid the fleas and ticks; after showing up at Lake Elsonore animal hospital and waiting out in my car with my dog for over an hour and a half I decided to leave and the plan was to go to Pet Smart and buy the items needed to clean and protect (Frontline) this dog myself (maybe save some cash?). Well on my way to Pet Smart my heart told me to look for a small mom and pop shop pet supply place and support small business in these trying times. Best decision I have ever made. King Arthur got seen right away and he was met with the love and respect of a king. For the same price of the hospital, King Arthur got washed, fleas and ticks removed, chew toys, highest quality flea and tick protection and highest quality breed specific dog food. He was treated like a king. The cost $199.80. Choosing Horizon pet supply and grooming over bigger business was a great decision and this business is what makes America's small businesses essential. It stands as an example of the quality that all American small businesses should have on our road to recovering from this covid 19 pandemic; I would give them ten stars if I could. read more

Love the owner. Hate the workers. My dog has gotten groomed here MULTIPLE times. Never a problem. I give them clear instructions on what to do and how to handle my dog so she isn't triggered to attack anyone. I have never had a problem. The past groomers end up kissing my dog and praising how great she is. Go in for her appointment for today and of course there's a new groomer. I give her the same clear instructions and she by passes them. What happens? My dog gets triggered and tries to bite her. She says my dog is "ungroomable" yet she's been groomed there before and never had a problem. read more

This review is based on grooming and not the store itself as I've always had positive experiences shopping there. Always available and willing to order my needs. However, I've been taking my dog to be groomed appx every three months specifically to have his glands expressed. I do the washings at home most of the time. I make sure to say that on drop off that I'm not specific about the cut or cleaning as much as I am the importance of his glands . Two days after his grooming .. his anal glands exploded. Very expensive vet bills incurred. Basically , I paid for a very expensive shampoo. Be careful if your like me and have a small breed that needs this very important grooming step. I have many dogs and this is my go to place for grooming. Close to home and they always do such an amazing job on the grooming of my dogs. The best thing that recently happened was the young lady who grooms my dog made mention about concern that her eye looked like it was bulging more so than usual (she is a Shitzu). Took her to the vet and sure enough, glaucoma and ended up having her eye removed. Thank you horizon grooming team for giving me your opinion as I did not notice as I see my dog every day and she has bulging eyes to begin with. I have brought my two dogs here for the past 2-3 years. They always charged me the same price for my larger dog, then all the sudden recently they raised the price saying she is too big of a dog to keep the original price I was quoted. Why would they have given me that price in the first place? She hasn't grown. Also the quality of grooming has gone way down. My dog came home smelling like wet dog. The people working there had an attitude with me and I noticed when I went to the back to get my dog, she was in a tiny little cage. She is a bigger dog and could barely fit in it.
