The staff is pretty friendly, and straight forward, but they get pretty busy so there are times they can be short with you. Wait times can vary, but I've spent almost an hour each time waiting for them to pull parts for inspection. Pricing is reasonable and so far everything I've purchased has been working without any issues. Will definitely keep going back if they have parts I need in stock.

But through a series of referrals, I finally got to Black Diamond Auto Wrecking, who were recommended by a local Portland wrecking yard. Black Diamond had the window for my particular car, and the price, including $60 to ship it, was around $136. I ordered it in the late afternoon on a Monday and I had it by Wednesday evening. I believe I spoke with Mike and he was polite and efficient. The service was generally excellent and I greatly appreciate their help. The only drawback was reaching them. Sometimes I had to call them several times to get to a live person. There were times that no one answered the phone. There were other times when the phone went to a message machine that could, at times, get you into an endless loop. At other times, the message machine would put you on hold briefly until someone answered. It was kind of inconsistent and something I'd suggest the company improve. Otherwise, they were great and the window they sold me, now installed, is working perfectly.

If they're too thin they can't turn them down because the rotors will crack. The young kid used dial calipers to measure them and purposely applied more pressure to the dial calipers to give a false reading. Then told me I needed a new rotor. When I asked him what the minimum thickness was he couldn't even tell me . This is an old trick it's been used for years.. then he told me the rotors would be ready by noon ... wrong I will never shop at dis honest performance in Federal Way ever again......

Not a typical auto parts store but a specific place for car builders. They had everything I needed and knew exactly what I was talking about when I asked questions. Don't worry though, it does look like they let you rent the tools for a reasonable price if you didn't bring your own. Upon entering the establishment, you will need to tell the staff what type of vehicle you're looking for and they will tell you where it can be found. How cool is that? You will then proceed to checking in, in their old school bind with your name, signature and date. Anyways I found what I was looking for and then some! Once they evaluated the problem they called with an estimate they were able to get it fixed within 24hrs. They also made several calls to me informing me of the progress. I felt that they were very honest and never tried to up charge me for anything. Apex even topped off all of my fluids at no additional charge. I would highly recommend Apex Auto and I will be using them as my permanent mechanic.

I was also not informed of an estimate for an oil inspection leak until AFTER it was done. I wish auto mechanics would quote me BEFORE doing their job! (They do this because they have a lien on your vehicle until you pay up.) As far as inadequate estimates, I brought my car in to have the brakes replaced for two front wheels (pads, rotors and calipers) estimated at just over $1000 - they informed me in the shop. I allowed them to do the job and when finished, final bill was over $1400. Wow, nice "estimate"! I have fired them for any further services and I only gave two stars because they seem highly trained and knowledgeable mechanics and got the job done quick (within couple of hours) but honesty and better communication regarding estimates or costs go a long way for happier customers. I will NOT return!
