Among all the different slides there is something for everyone from 6 (my grandkid) to 76 (me)! Although they are all fun, my favorite slide is the Python, followed by the Royal Flush. But I recommend you try all the slides! This is a great place for birthday parties, there's a cafe and lots of tables overlooking the playing floor. There is also a special area with toddler-size activities. One thing I especially like about Slick City is that through the adventure of slides, it teaches children self confidence and helps give them the courage to overcome fear in a healthy environment. Granddaughter (7 yrs) climbed up to the top of one of the tallest slides, only to start crying from fear and then she'd climb back down. 15 minutes later she'd go up again, only to come down, defeated by her fear. She kept it up (learning determination) until she finally found the courage to slide down from the top. The smile on her now self-confident face was priceless. She had conquered her fear! She went back and rode that slide again at least 10 times. The place is pricey but well worth it. Note: you must purchase a pair of their special traction socks in the slide areas. They do not allow any other brand, so save yours for subsequent trips.

This location has been about a mile from our house for a while, but I never took her because I didn't realize they had a separate area for children five and under. The five-and-under area was much smaller and less fun than the one in Scottsdale. Even though admission for that area is cheaper than regular admission, it still came to about $19 after tax for 90 minutes. I realize that's pretty comparable to other children's play places, but at that price, I still expect my toddler to have a good time. Instead, I had to keep persuading her to stay and play because she was bored and wanted to go into the larger kids' section, which isn't safe for her age. There also isn't a gate to keep younger kids inside the little-kid area. At the Scottsdale location, we stayed for almost three hours, and I never had to persuade her to keep playing. The "arcade," if you can even call it that, was also really disappointing. I bought a $10 game card, but there were only a few games, and some weren't working. The claw machines had cheap-looking prizes, while most of the other working games seemed better suited for older kids or teenagers. The whole area looked dumpy and thrown together, like they didn't put much thought or effort into it. I also think it's ridiculous that a waiver signed at one Slick City location doesn't carry over to another. I had already completed one for Scottsdale but had to fill out another one here. They really should have a company-wide system. I was happy to learn that the Thunderbird location had a five-and-under area because it's so close to us, but after this experience, I would still rather drive 32 miles to Scottsdale. Thunderbird really needs to improve and expand the younger-kids' area so it's actually worth the price. They also need to make the arcade bigger, fix the broken machines, and make it feel like a real arcade. If they don't plan to put more effort into it, they would honestly be better off removing it. What they have now just feels like a cheap attempt at an arcade. I hate writing 1 star reviews, but when I do, it's because I hope that the business owners can take note and make improvements. Sharon was our party attendant and she was on top of all of my request. The action park was a blast! Everyone (adults included) enjoyed. Keep in mind if you have a little one that is not 5 and older, they cannot go down the slide. If you are looking for a one stop shop for birthdays, I would highly recommend Ninja Kidz. Before booking, I called and left at least five voicemails asking about available spaces and what was included. I finally reached someone who told me the only available option was the private party room on October 11. I booked for 10 children and asked about party packages and orange, white, and black decorations. I was told someone would call about color options. The employee explained that Cece, the party coordinator, was unavailable. I was quoted a total and prepared $500 in cash for the day of the party. No one followed up. During the week of the party, I called to confirm. The employee seemed confused, asked coworkers about reservations, then simply told me I was all set and hung up. I called again asking for Cece, but she was unavailable. Finally, on October 6, I received a voicemail confirming the reservation and informing me that my requested colors were unavailable. The message also mentioned a package I had never selected, despite being told only one space was available when I booked. I called back and explained I would bring my own orange tablecloths, napkins, silverware, and cups, so I did not need the gold package. Upon arrival, we were told waivers had to be signed before setting up. The room already had blue tablecloths and napkins stuffed into tiny 4-ounce plastic cups. I reminded the attendant that I had called ahead about bringing my own supplies. She told me to remove theirs and cover the tablecloths with mine. She helped with one table, then left me to do the rest alone. My family eventually arrived and helped finish. The room was also filthy, with green frosting smeared on seats and grease left behind. We had to clean it ourselves with baby wipes. About 30 minutes into the party, I finally completed the QR-code waiver process. The attendant then informed me we had to be out promptly at 1 p.m. because another party was scheduled afterward. I noticed an upstairs gallery with multiple empty tables and asked about it. I was told it was reserved for parties, which was confusing because I had specifically been told those spaces were unavailable when booking. It felt like I was unnecessarily pushed into paying for the private room. When it was time to eat, guests had to leave the party area to refill their own water. Thankfully, I brought water bottles for the kids. It took approximately an hour and a half before our attendant finally brought out a single pitcher of ice water. Because we were under pressure to leave on time, I rushed the birthday song and dessert so I could pack everything into my wagon and clean up for the next party. I didn't want to inconvenience another family, but I missed much of my own son's birthday because I was busy setting up, managing everything, and cleaning. At checkout, I was told we had more than 10 children. I explained that we had 12 confirmed RSVPs, including my son, although some family members were too young to participate or simply watched. I was then presented with a bill approximately double what I had been quoted over the phone. To make matters worse, I was asked how much I wanted to tip our attendant. A tip for what? One tablecloth and one pitcher of water, with virtually no assistance? I asked to speak with management and explained everything, including the lack of promised drinks, poor service, and unexpected charges. The employee apologized but said the party manager wasn't there and that Cece would call me back. I made it clear that the communication had been terrible and I wasn't holding my breath. Our party was Sunday morning. I waited a day for someone to follow up. No one called. We made our way around the trampoline park including some basketball, general jumping, running, parkour / obstacle course, climbing wall, and my daughter did the slide. 90 minutes was more than enough, although I can see why younger kids may want to stay longer for parties and such. Employees are nice enough although when we wanted a snack from the cafe, we had to wait a bit for someone to help us... All things considered, this place is spacious, clean, and a great way for kids and adults to get some energy out, but it comes with a cost!
