I was very disappointed with your seed this year. I purchased spinach & sugar snap peas & only 3 seeds of each vegetable germinated from the entire packet of seeds. Have bought Swiss chard seed 2 years ago and there was only 6 seeds. I emailed the company and no response. Today I bought 2 packs of squash because I was in that store again and they were both 2.5 grams for 2.99. That smaller seeds only had 10 in the pack and the larger seeds had 19 in it. Bought Blue Lake Pole Beans, and pickling cucumbers. 50 foot rows. Only 3 plants from the bean seeds grew. Two 50 ft rows of cucumbers and only 4 plants have grown. It is hard enough to grow a garden at a higher elevation then to have the seeds not produce means that I will not have a garden at all. Shame on you for sending out such an inferior product. Purchased three packages of petite mixed marigold. First curiously is that one package had 12 seeds, one had 17 seeds and one had about 200 seeds? Wondered as to quality control. Noticed in planning the seeds that they were very "slim" - no body. Of a planting of three trays of 72 each, 216 seeds, the germination was three plants. Will not ever buy Livingstone again. Bought some radishes at the local hardware store that were Livingston seeds. Germination was fine but a bit weird. After some plants were 2 inches high I had some radishes sprouting around my established plants. 3 weeks after planting and they sprouted...? After thinning to about 4 inches to let them get big, I let them grow and added a small amount of fertilizer. At harvest most radishes were pure white and the red ones were small and cracked. It was my fault about the cracking because of too much fertilizer, but I have never seen such a small radish. Very disappointed... read more

After reading other reviews of Livingston seeds, I see I am not alone with purchased failure seeds . I bought 3 packets of bush style green beans (3 different breeds) 1. Blue Lake 2. Earliserve 3. Tenderette , I had a "Few" of the Blue Lake and Earliserve come up with "ZERO" of the Tenderette Emerging from the ground. So I hesitantly went to store and bought 3 more packs of these same breeds and tried to fill in the gaps of the rows and completely replant the Tenderette bean row, That was a week ago and I can see "some" of the beans coming up - even a couple of the Tenderette beans . I noticed on the 1st time planting That the seeds in the pack looked for lack of words ...."OLD" ? And the same with the 2nd planting (replanting) with "New" seed packets that had the same appearance even though all the packets said to be packaged for the 2024 season? The bean seed in each packet are white colored seed , the one packet had a mix of white "and" Brown seeds ? Don't think I will be using Livingston seeds anymore, I wasted my time and money not just once but twice , I Learned my lesson the hard way I guess . read more

I just spent $50 on your seeds at Ace Hardware I opened the columbine and there are barely any seeds for $1.99. Then I opened the Lupine and there isn't even a single seed for $1.99. Unless I hear back from you I pobably will return the rest of the seeds to the store and buy a different brand. read more

I bought seeds from this company last year with just ok results. I gave them another shot this year. Bought a package of acorn squash seeds. Didn't plant the whole package however of the approximate 15 seeds I planted not one of them germinated. Those aren't good results at all. I usually buy Ed Hume seeds but picked up a packet of Livingston Sugar Snap Peas at my local produce stand. Big mistake!! Over 80% of the vines that produced turned out to be Sugar Pod (Asian style) peas with pods that are so tough they require cooking. And, the Sugar Snap Peas that did produce are not that tender and sweet. Only about a third of the peas planted germinated and they are for the 2019 year. read more

I bought parsnip seeds from Livingston this year and last year. Both packages were labeled for the current year. Very poor germination last year and I wasn't going buy them again this year but my local store was out of a different brand. My first 2 plantings of 20 ft. row this year yielded only 2 plants so I tried germinating 34 seeds between damp paper towels in the house. Of those 34 seeds only 2 germinated. I also had problems last year with the Edamame seeds germinating. So disappointing. I will not purchase Livingston seeds again. read more

I intermixed a few Livingston seeds into my garden this year because the greenhouse had a limited supply of Burpee seeds that didn't have onion seeds, parsnips, rutabaga, mint and thyme that I wanted to include in my garden. The Livingston seeds had horrible germination rates in comparison to the Burpee seeds despite claiming to be for the current season. The onion seeds were even coated with something to help them germinate better. I know parsnips are known for low germination, but this was terrible. I will never buy Livingston seeds again. There are plenty of other seed companies who produce quality seed for my future gardening needs. read more

SHAME ON YOU! I had some spare time today and swung by the local Ace Hardware to buy seeds for my garden. I had good luck with Livingston last year and wanted to repeat it with the same varieties. I had the packs from last year so it was an easy match..then I noticed the price increase; $1.29 to $1.79. Then the weight DECREASE, 7g to 3.5g ! Half the seeds and a 40% cost increase on Arugula! What is that about? You guys have some nerve sticking with your tag line on the package..."clearly more seed". This is more like "clearly NOT more seed"! We purchased Livingston seeds while visiting a new store in our area. This was a major mistake. The seeds had an extremely poor germination rate. In northern Michigan, there isn't a lot of do-over time, so the poor quality really cost us. We will NEVER use this company, and we probably will not return to the store where we bought them, either. read more

Two weeks ago I planted two packages of Livingston seeds inside: California Wonder and Peper Bell Color Mix. At the same time I planted two packages of Burpee tomato seeds. I used the same soil and exposed both to the same conditions and watering. The tomatoes are up two inches, but not one pepper seed has germinated, not one. I am so disappointed in Livington's seeds. I don't dare buy any more. I will contact the company to see if they will send me some seeds that will germinate. Very disappointed! Some plants came in well and some very weak. And to top it off, the package of Early Prolific Straightneck Squash ended up with vines everywhere and now I have some small WATERMELONS on those vines.
