If we changed the space it could expand to a reading room with shelves. We have bought here before, twice, so we know the advantages. Those rooms turned into 2 offices that had a optional bed. We could sleep An extra two couples at the same time, and did. So, the idea is how to spend 3-4 k and create a wow room where guests could stay or stay over. The styles are very consistent to what we had in 2015. Just nice woodwork and different configurations for side storage ideas. Shelves, not drawers. We still are in the idea stage, we met Jay, the original owner. A wonderful man and conversationalist. To change a space to more than a bedroom is a good use of a smaller property. A two bedroom house can be a three with the pull of a handle.

Tom McGowan was my realtor in my recent relocation from Santa Fe NM to Oro Valley AZ. To say he is…read more"top-notch" does not even begin to describe his services and professionalism. I would not be living in my beautiful new home and "stress free" if it were not for his never ending care with making sure all that goes into buying a new home was taken care of for me, without my being here. He found the perfect property for me, and basically I was able to fly in for one day to purchase. Then he made sure all inspections were lined up for my next visit. His communications via email, text, phone were consistent, and he listened to all my concerns and took care of negotiating every one. After closing, as I was still not able to move yet, he took care to line up all I wanted to get done before I moved in. And I did not even mention his extraodinary knowledge of real-estate, contracts, closing costs and all the paper work. Let's just say he "had my back" through the whole process. He is kind, courteous, and has a great reputation with the real-estate and real-estate vendor community here. I was fortunate he was my Realtor!

What a wonderful experience with wonderful, professional people…read more We remodeled our kitchen at end of May. Arizona Cabinetry was the 3rd company we price and talked to. This is the best company to have your kitchen remodel by. They have quality cabinets, hardware, and countertops, with reasonable prices and a great crew of workers. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants their kitchen done right.. I so appreciated that Dan listen to what I wanted to have done in my kitchen and he made it happen at a reasonable price and quality materials. He saw my vision and made great suggestions but never pushed something I didn't want. There were time as the progress was going that I was in tears of joy with how it was coming together. I was so happy with the look, the people and job they were doing. Richard, Cesar, Raul and Martin installed the cabinets quickly and very effectively, even with a minor change that I asked them to do. They quickly did the change without making me feel I was wrong in asking. Great group of fellows that work so well together to get it accomplished. First tears of joy for how beautiful the cabinets were and looked. Miguel, Max, Jose and Victor were the crew that installed my granite countertops. I sort of made it a challenge for them asking that the largest counter not have a seam in it, but be a completely one piece. They did it so nicely. As they installed, the second tears happen for how beautiful it looked. Melissa took all my phone calls and answered all my questions I had, never me feel that any of them were trivial. I loved working with her, so easy to get along with. Only have one before picture. But what a change!

When I moved to Tucson, my incredibly ugly and embarrassingly unusable kitchen was my number one…read morepriority for an overhaul. I would include photos of that disaster here but your eyes would hurt. I immediately started contacting several designers. Most didn't return calls. A few said they were booked for at least a year. Helen was the only one who contacted me. I was lucky I did because this small kitchen, comprising a tiny kitchen and tinier laundry room would require Swiss Army knife precision to: - combine the kitchen and laundry room - give me more floor area - create a logical work space - add much more storage - adhere to my minimalist aesthetic. Helen wasn't scared away and her design nailed my bullet points in only a few sessions. I had no timeline for completion because I've managed construction projects in a past life. I wanted Helen and her construction team to take their time and deliver quality. As I expected, this old house presented several major challenges during the demo and build phases. All were addressed logically and successfully. The cabinet installation was a true jigsaw puzzle because the small space meant tolerances had to be exact. This was probably the toughest part of the total remodel and it was fascinating to watch it all get assembled. I'm very pleased with the results. The appliances are superb, the flow to do basic tasks in this new space is so natural and intuitive, and, I no longer have the ugliest kitchen in my neighborhood. It's a surprising show stopper when people visit: so much kitchen in such a small space. Having managed large projects, the key to success during the process is having patience and an understanding that mistakes happen. It made this complex remodel relatively pain free and the result was worth it!

In addition to my previous post, here is JOB 2 I said I would post. Just before the nightmare with…read morethe entertainment center debacle was about to start, I brought Sandra another client during the same time I was collaborating with her on an entertainment center. This new client I brought in I have just designed a beautiful new kitchen layout. They hired me to completely redesign their entire home with a budget of 350K, and they had moved out of their home. I would have been an amazing project with Sandra and I. I stated to Sandra we had around a 50K budget for the kitchen cabinets. Her price ended up being over 110K for just the kitchen only, no labor. I along with my clients were gob smacked by this number. Not once did she even try to save the sale or offer any suggestions of different lines. Looking back, I now fell she gave an outrageous number to blow me off and not to do another project with her. I ended up losing this new client that I truly needed, especially being new to Tucson. When I reached out to the client, he stated to me, "Your pricing is just too high for us, we are getting the cabinetry and kitchen you designed for us for 42K". Granted a different cabinet line and I am sure they made changes but still. I lost a 350K project over an outrageous number provided for cabinetry. Like the entertainment center project, I was disappointed in Sandra with her lack of concern and professionalism or trying to meet the client's budget. Two months later she wanted to bill me for using my drawings to put into the computer to present to them for the sale. I said that you will have to ask the client not me. I was not hiring you, they were. If you do not ask for a deposit or explain your charge to put my drawings into the computer this is not my fault, it is yours. So, no will never work with Arizona kitchens again, nor refer, nor do I recommend, which is terribly sad as they have a beautiful showroom much like my old one, but the service is just not there.
