A nice and peaceful setting, nice pool area with a swing . My cabin was nice and clean, the water pressure in the bathroom was amazing, nice parking area. Some wildlife here and there , The Check-in process was easy to do and the check out process as well. April did a good job of communicating with me in a timely fashion. This spot is very beautiful inside. Think, modern farmhouse. They also had an addition of including wifi. They are 5 minutes from Main Street which houses restaurants and grocery stores. They also included a binder containing attractions, restaurants etc. nearby. If to say one small thing, the pool could be marked for the depth of the water on the sides. I do see that it was there at some point. Overall a very nice stay and definitely recommending other people with warm regards. read more

The best bed and breakfast cabin we ever stayed at. The host were so nice and accommodating, the cabin was clean and very comfortable. We stayed in the Tree house and we had a kitchen, living room, and a very spacious bedroom. It was a great place to relax and get away fro the city. If you're thinking of going to Garner State Park, it will take 40mins to drive to the mountains. A lil far, but worth the drive! Also, the breakfast was delicious! read more

This is a nice place to stay for families who do not want to camp out or stay in a cabin. I like how private this place is, you will not feel that you're in the city once you're in their vicinity. They have a pool where you can lounge and they're also close to restaurants. This place is about 20-30 mins drive to Garner state park. Clarissa and Cara were very helpful in giving us an advice on where to go to enjoy frio river on our first day. They also sent me a link on things to do and where to eat. One thing I can say is that this place can greatly improve by being thorough in cleaning their rooms other than that this is a hidden gem for people who like bed and breakfast places. Speaking of breakfast, the first day was good however the 2nd day was just a mediocre. I overlooked their policy of being charged per person and not per room as this was my first time to book a BNB place so keep that in mind in booking in one of their rooms. I liked the experience of staying in a BNB but for me it's still more convenient to stay in a hotel. Having said that, I would definitely recommend this place as an alternative to a hotel if you're more into BNB. Tip: Read the email that they will send you prior to going to this place, they will give you a detailed instructions on how to get in your room. You are not supposed to go to their main gate and house but to continue on the road to the left side. read more

My wife and I stayed in one of their "Casitas" aka cabins while attending a conference in Uvalde and this place is just charming and a little more upscale than most B & B's. The property is pretty big and Cara is such a wonderful host, and has a sweet South-Texas-Country charm. It's close to town, yet in the country. They can point you toward all kinds of activities including hunting, river,etc. Of course, it was nice that they have their own pool to enjoy after a long hot Texas day. The decoration and furniture is more expensive than usual. You can tell they've put a lot of money into the property. I highly recommend anyone going to Uvalde to stay here instead of a hotel. They also have a zip-line for the kiddos, or in my case the adult kiddo :) Of course, breakfast is homemade and tasty. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a pleasant experience I wanted to let others know. read more

My wife and I have stayed here a few times...and will do so again. Rooms are well decorated and comfortable. The property is several acres and feels secluded even though it's right off the main street. Breakfast is always good. New owners are nice folks and have done a great job with recent updates/casitas. Relax. This place is so quiet and peaceful. The pool beside the cabana is the perfect place for morning coffee. The birds were incredible. A Great Kiskadee was busy building a nest atop one of the beautiful palm trees beside the pool. My kids enjoyed swimming while I sat beneath the cabana shade enjoying the flowers and grounds of the b&b. Cara and her crew have created a welcoming, private oasis with all the necessities for a home away from home. The kitchenette is supplied with dishes and utensils, everything we needed was in our cabana. There was even coffee supplied for the coffee maker and a mini fridge for our dinner leftovers. The bathroom was a good size (and clean!) for the four of us to work around each other, coming and going. The cold air conditioning is a much welcomed relief from the hot Texas afternoons. If you find yourself in Uvalde, Texas, call Cara and she will help you settle into one of her amazing casitas. The cabana by the pool has a king size bed that I didn't want to leave and might have the softest sheets ever in the history of bed sheets. We spent four lovely days at Live Oak B&B. We are from the Houston, TX area. We were headed to the Frio River to get away for several days. But Mother Nature decided to pour down and the river rose 6 feet in a short period of time...we were about 40 miles from Leakey when we found out that even the back ways were not able to get through and were told they would refund us our money if we wanted to go home...ummm no thank you after being in the car for almost 5 hours going through heavy rain with our littles in the back. We just wanted to find a place to stay the night that had a fridge for our food we packed. Tiredness and stress were building; that's when my daughter suggested we stop and pray. So we did and Jesus answered her sweet heartfelt prayer...we called a bed and breakfast in Uvalde and even though they had a big party leave that day, the owners opened their hearts and home to us. They, along with their children, graciously cleaned the Treehouse cabin for us to stay in! This place is amazingly beautiful! It stopped raining shortly after we prayed and the girls got to swim here. We got to see deer and rabbits and lighting bugs, to relax and to have a super comfy bed and pretty cabin to sleep in, but more than all these things the owners and their children were incredibly sweet and welcoming and so gracious to go out of their way to accommodate us. Though sometimes our prayers are not always answered as quickly or in the way we may think, God hears our prayers and answers in ways that are always better and bigger than we can envision, He protects us and He is always teaching us through our children who are full of wisdom faith. We made some great memories at Live Oaks Bed and Breakfast. This place is a little piece of heaven and we will definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary and were very pleased with the accommodations. The Treehouse is a great cabin with a King sized bed, a kitchenette, sitting area, and a shower-only bathroom. There was plenty of space in the air conditioned cabin. Our hosts served breakfast in the morning in their home. All of the food was fresh, homemade, and exceptionally delicious. I don't think I've had better crepes anywhere! read more
