First..nobody checked ID when we checked in. the cabin we got was missing floor tiles, the smoke alarm beeped all weekend, the sink in one of the bathrooms wouldn't drain. they were going to charge 75$ for linens when the website said they were provided. we called X 2 Friday and nothing. we had to go back to the office Saturday morning and then wait for maintenance to come out and took the battery out of the smoke alarm and put it back on. The board said the cabin hadn't been cleaned since June 9, we were there 27-29. Blonds were busted. Not worth the money by far. The young people working were so nice though. read more

River Cabin Review. Pleasant stay at the cabins. They are rustic, basic accommodations, no frills. If you think you might need something, bring it. What you get is a cabin in the woods. Peaceful, and quiet. Plywood walls inside. Sheets are provided for $40. No toiletries provided. Plastic covering on mattresses. Air conditioning works if kept above 72 degrees. For what we got and what we paid, it seemed overpriced, but if your goal is to be near the Frio, this is what you get and they get what they can for what they have. read more

A nice big store with plenty of Frio River souvenirs. They pretty much have everything that you need for camping of for floating the river as well as your basic needs. Good stay, all in all. Nothing fancy, but for a good location, a place that has the basics and a little more, this is a good option. Store is handy too, being within walking distance from the first few cabins. If you don't want neighbors on either side, cabin 1 or 10 is a good option. Even 1 or 2 is good, they're a little further off from the rest, and under some shade. The flowerbeds get watered on a timer soaker hose daily, so beware of putting things close to the edge that you weren't planning on getting wet. Some tips- Bring towels, including hand towels. And one for a bath mat. Also, bring kitchen items you'd prefer to cook with- the kitchen has some basics, but some things you may prefer your own stuff. Also, if you are trying to watch some MLB games, the direct tv package in the rooms didn't include the games. I'd bring an hdmi cord and a laptop and try to stream on the wifi to the TV inside. As for parking- you can fit three cars in front, but it's tight. There's additional parking not too far if you have cabins 1-4. Not sure about the other side of cabins. All in all, good stay. A little "lived in" but practical and does what you need for a Concan vacation. Plus it's across from the Concan Pies place- perfect to make a quick trip right when they open. read more

Amazing place to stay and they have shuttles to the Frio River. They rent tubes and kayaks. An awesome store and liquor store. Everything you would want or need in one place!!! Love the spacious cabins!!!! The best place to stay in Concan, Texas!!! Everyone is so nice there and they treat you like family and we love staying there!!!! Everything is clean and neat!!! Recently stayed at Andy's (7/9-7/12 2014) and have to say it was a wonderful experience! Where to start?!? Staff- We were super impressed! Nell is a doll and a joy to speak with..helping us to check in and when we arrived hours early to check in really went the extra mile to make sure our cabin was clean and ready to go..and also pointed us in the direction of a great lunch spot while we waited. The guys and gals who worked in the store and helped with the tubes were also all very knowledgeable and helpful..always with smiles on their faces and very polite..they all seemed to really enjoy their jobs and it showed. Andy himself was also so helpful..you can tell he takes pride in his property and customer service was number one! He actually drove the "Cool" bus that took us to the river and I think at some point I even saw him in his truck stopping along the roadside picking up trash and stray branches..always working. We were impressed. Cabins- We stayed in a cabin and again were more than happy with what we saw! Plenty of space for two families, all the utensils we could need (pots, pans, plates, cups, cooking utensils) a/c worked really well and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings/evenings. Even saw some fireflies..and being from Houston that's a big deal :) I highly recommend Andy's! They have won us over and we hope to make this trip to the Frio an annual one! Recently came to Concan to float the Frio and decided to rent tubes from Andy's. We had a blast and the staff was super nice! They had an answer for every question we asked! We took advantage of the shuttle and our bus driver was super nice! We absolutely cannot wait to come back next year! We are going to try to rent a cabin with them next time instead of staying in Uvalde! Can't wait! read more

We were treated very nicely in the morning but the gentlemen who drove the bus in the afternoon was extremely rude and claimed another group could board before 10-15 of us "because they paid more." He then got physically aggressive with guests and shot us the middle finger. I am very disappointed given my prior experiences with Andy's and will be calling the owner with my complaints. read more

This is my second time to stay at Andy's and it has been just the best experience. The staff is always so nice, the store is clean and full of supplies and souvenirs. We went here for July 4th. The weather was just perfect for tubing and the tube rentals are very reasonable. You can choose between a 3 hour float and a 4 hour long float. We went for the 3 hour long one. We parked our cars behind the store and walked to the front where we had to wait for the shuttle. The shuttle was a re-purposed school bus and they had painted on top of the "s" and "h" and so it read "cool bus". We thought it was cute. We were then dropped off at the location and we picked our tubes. We got a tube for our cooler. No glass containers are allowed. The first stretch of the river barely had any current, so our tubes were barely moving. We had to be dragged on by another group. You should have atleast 1 person in your group swimming/walking through the water to drag you on. The second half was much quicker and had a good current but my husband had to walk a fair way to take us further and the river bed is very rocky and slippery, so not very easy to walk on. All of us had body aches the next day, so hardly a relaxing activity but was fun nonetheless. read more

I have been coming to concan for years to float the river. After staying at Andy's I won't stay anywhere else. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They have anything I needed down to a liquor store on the premises. Nothing more relaxing then sitting around the fire with friends in the hill country winter. We had such a great experience in the morning with renting our tubes and the drive down to the drop off. However, when we got out of the river after a long float we had to wait for 30 minutes. When the bus arrived we were greeted by a man who said we were not allowed on the bus because he was taking a big group back that was separate and paid extra. The group rented from the same service and were out of the river AFTER two other families who were waiting patiently. We continued to wait for a very long time. Very disappointed after such a great experience this morning. read more

We went for Memorial weekend. We were having a Great time with family and friends. Until after a bad storm came in Saturday evening right after we had floated the river. I decided to go shower in the Public showers after the storm, but I asked my husband to park next to the ladies restroom since it was late at night around 11:00 pm. When he parked the front tire fell in a hole, and from there the truck was stuck in the mud. A Security and a worker helped, after trying and trying with chains, a worker finally pulled the truck out with a Skid steer. We went back to the RV and we went to bed. When someone knocks at 1:30 am really hard on door, he let us know he was ANDY THE OWNER and was yelling at us "THAT WE (BEEP) ( CANT USE PROFANITY LIKE HE DID ON HERE) HAD PEOPLE WITHOUT WATER AND MADE A MESS AND BUSTED A WATER LINE. THAT HE WOULD CHARGE $500 ON OUR CREDIT CARD FOR THE DAMAGE AND FOR US TO PACK OUR S*** AND TO LEAVE BY 8 AM. WOW!!!! ANDY what a Way to Handle the Situation! WITHOUT even asking for a Explanation. You straight up accused us of breaking the water line. Going at 1:30 and our kids listening to your yelling, and I'm sure our neighbors heard you too. So (BEEP) RUDE AND Unprofessional of your part!!!! Its not like we were out there Mudding acting like fools! Accidents happen just like Your shuttle driver hit a truck on the side of the road and knocked the mirror off! I hope the Owner of the Truck doesn't find out and comes talking MESS TO YOU for that. Just like you did to us!! By the way you do not have any signs up by the restrooms NOT to park there. I Dont know whats the difference when people are parking on the field behind the store or going thru the field. Maybe you should put Caliche or concrete driveways to help others to not get stuck after a storm. Go ahead and use the $ you charged us for already, without my consent! And Im hoping you can At least refund the night we didn't get to stay that was paid for already. Since you still cant return my call. I will be letting all my WEST TEXAS family and friends not to book at your place!! read more

We just got home from 5 days at Andy's. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We rented a RV spot (spot #6). It was a nice quiet spot. Everyone at the store was extremely nice and helpful when we had questions. My brother and his family stayed in a cabin and it was very nice! We will be back! read more

For the amount of people and price divided up , this is a great deal for the area. Could not float due to drought conditions but still had a great time. Stayed in a cabin that includes two good sized rooms with bathrooms in each. Each cabin has it's own fire pit, grill, and picnic table along with a good sized porch to chill on. Keep in mind resources like toiletries and kitchen utensils are limited so pack how you would to camp. Ample parking for up to four cars. The camp is not on the river like others, but that's where we get the reduced price compared to others. A bus is also available to transport you to any part of the river. Andy (the owner) personally stopped by and said hi and checked in, a nice touch. Enjoyed our time here, will definitely return when the river is up. read more

This is usually where I go when I need something to finish a meal but do not want to drive to Uvalde and battle a bunch of townies at the local H.E.B. Andy's is one step up from a convenience store as far as selection goes, but has grocery store prices making it easier to buy your missing items without thinking you could have gone out to eat cheaper. read more

My five friends and I decided to rent 7 tubes from Andy's to float down the Frio Rio River. We paid for the shuttle to take us to and from the river. We were told that the last shuttle bus pick-up was at 7:00PM. We finished the river around 6:20PM and waited at the pick-up location. The shuttle was suppose to come every 15 to 20 minutes, but we waited and the shuttle never came. My friend hitched a ride back to Andy's to get our car. We had to leave the tubes at the pick-up spot because there was no way that we could have fit them in the car. When we investigated into the whereabouts of the shuttle, the cashier told us that she had attempted to call us to see if we were still on the river, and if we still needed the shuttle bus. But there is no cell phone service on the river, and therefore, we never got her call. We told that to the cashier and she said: "yeah...right". She knew that we didn't have cell phone service on river, because no one does, but she didn't care. Her attitude was dismissive and cold. Then she asked where the tubes were and we told her that we had left them at the pick-up spot. She implied that we would be charged for not bringing the tubes back! Andy's saw no problem in stranding 6 people on the river. They were more concerned about getting the tubes back than our wellbeing. This experience ruined our good day on the river. We will never use Andy's services again!! read more

We went to Concan to float the Frio River, but at Andy's, after waiting on all the people ahead of us, when it was our turn the little girl said "I'm sorry, but we are no longer running shuttles for the day!!!" That REALLY pissed me off!!! I knew there was ANOTHER place, but couldn't find all the details, because Verizon has NO SERVICE there!!! So, we came back and are gonna watch Formula1 qualifying and hang by the pool after. If we go tomorrow, we'll go to Neal's instead!!! I don't care to give Andy's our business! read more

Always have necessities that we forget at home and the best fountain drinks in Concan! Great cabins when we stayed there in the past.

We stayed in the Cherokee oaks cabin and let me just tell you. It was not a nice stay, there were cigarette butts all over the entrance already starting us off with the nasty shenanigans. When We entered I was looking forward to laying in bed and relaxing after the long trip out to frío county. I was surprised to find out the cabin doesn't come with sheets, pillow cases, absolutely nothing but that thin comforter. It would have been fine I get it it's a cabin, but some warning saying it doesn't come with linens, towels, or per say toilet paper would have been nice. So we're already unprepared because we now have to go and drive out to the nearest Walmart and buy all of that crap. When we go to the store/front desk they say that we can buy towels and sheets for an additional 25 dollars. So that's how they get you they don't say you need to bring that stuff and then make you pat for it when you're unprepared. The people at this front desk/store counter were all confused and seemed to not know anything that we needed to know. Not only is this cabin bare and empty it is also nasty. There were cockroaches in the couches and I even woke up one morning to find a cockroach climbing over my toothbrush. To say the least I did not brush my teeth that day. When you come also bring your own dishwashing detergents because they give you plates and silverware but absolutely nothing to wash those dishes with leaving you with a full sink and having to haul your butt to the nearest store. I would imagine if we were to have stayed at another place to lay our heads after a day of tubing it would have been a much more enjoyable trip. read more
