    Matching shirts is great

Wife and friends and kids all got matching shirts. Accommodating to our experience of what we needed. Wonderful experience all around!!

Good stay, all in all. Nothing fancy, but for a good location, a place that has the basics and a little more, this is a good option. Store is handy too, being within walking distance from the first few cabins. If you don't want neighbors on either side, cabin 1 or 10 is a good option. Even 1 or 2 is good, they're a little further off from the rest, and under some shade. The flowerbeds get watered on a timer soaker hose daily, so beware of putting things close to the edge that you weren't planning on getting wet. Some tips- Bring towels, including hand towels. And one for a bath mat. Also, bring kitchen items you'd prefer to cook with- the kitchen has some basics, but some things you may prefer your own stuff. Also, if you are trying to watch some MLB games, the direct tv package in the rooms didn't include the games. I'd bring an hdmi cord and a laptop and try to stream on the wifi to the TV inside. As for parking- you can fit three cars in front, but it's tight. There's additional parking not too far if you have cabins 1-4. Not sure about the other side of cabins. All in all, good stay. A little "lived in" but practical and does what you need for a Concan vacation. Plus it's across from the Concan Pies place- perfect to make a quick trip right when they open.

Recently stayed at Andy's (7/9-7/12 2014) and have to say it was a wonderful experience! Where to start?!? Staff- We were super impressed! Nell is a doll and a joy to speak with..helping us to check in and when we arrived hours early to check in really went the extra mile to make sure our cabin was clean and ready to go..and also pointed us in the direction of a great lunch spot while we waited. The guys and gals who worked in the store and helped with the tubes were also all very knowledgeable and helpful..always with smiles on their faces and very polite..they all seemed to really enjoy their jobs and it showed. Andy himself was also so helpful..you can tell he takes pride in his property and customer service was number one! He actually drove the "Cool" bus that took us to the river and I think at some point I even saw him in his truck stopping along the roadside picking up trash and stray branches..always working. We were impressed. Cabins- We stayed in a cabin and again were more than happy with what we saw! Plenty of space for two families, all the utensils we could need (pots, pans, plates, cups, cooking utensils) a/c worked really well and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings/evenings. Even saw some fireflies..and being from Houston that's a big deal :) I highly recommend Andy's! They have won us over and we hope to make this trip to the Frio an annual one! Thanks to all the staff and Andy for an experience well done!

Awesome shirt I got from Andy's!

Recently came to Concan to float the Frio and decided to rent tubes from Andy's. We had a blast and the staff was super nice! They had an answer for every question we asked! We took advantage of the shuttle and our bus driver was super nice! We absolutely cannot wait to come back next year! We are going to try to rent a cabin with them next time instead of staying in Uvalde! Can't wait!

What is great about the location is you are a very small walk down to the river bank, but way up high on the cliff to get a great view of the area. When the sun gets past 7pm, the oak trees give a lot of shade for the dinner hour. You are also near Old Baldy trailhead if you want to do a quick climb up the tallest peak there. Parkview has all of the amenities like a general store, full service bathrooms that are kept clean, and daily trash pickup. The wifi is pretty unreliable but does work with a delay like satellite internet. If you have AT&T for cellular service, you will be fine in the Concan area. Everyone else will suffer the total disconnect from the virtual world, which you were hoping to get away from, right? I usually go during Father's day week which seems to be a very busy time. It's hard to get a reserved spot during peak times, so be sure to ask to get on a waiting list.

There's a small river that crosses through the camp site, but the tides were low and it didn't look like you could kayak or tube in it that weekend. It was nice to watch the ducks swim by though. I like that the campsite includes clean restrooms and showers. Each tent site provides you a bench, trash bin, bbq grill, and fire pit. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban in effect during our stay, so we couldn't light a wood fire. There was plenty of space between us and other campers, so it didn't feel cramped. One thing that could be improved is that the field is pretty rocky. We couldn't seem to find a spot for our tent that wouldn't drive a stone in our backs at night. The camp site offers kayak rentals, but it gets to be quite expensive. Visitors can also use the swimming pool located by the front office. If you're feeling hungry, want to grab a drink, or enjoy some entertainment, right by the entrance is a restaurant bar. They've got live music most nights.

It's more of a camper site with a dry-ish field nearby. I feel that this site just had extra land so it offered some camping grounds but you're basically in people's backyards on both sides, and near a highway so lots of car noise. Maybe there are sites offered deeper where you're not so close to roads and peoples homes. Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, but I would probably only return here if I had an RV Camper. Not the best spot for tent camping.

Do not bring extra vehicles if you can help it (thank me later). But if you look around and get a date booked for the following year on a site you observed and liked, you'll have a better time. We spend two weeks there in June and another in July, but we've also been going since the summer it opened. They're like part of our extended family and we've met so many amazing families out there that have taken us in as a part of their own. It's right across from rock beach of Garner State Park. So you get to mingle with all sorts of people while out on the water and it's a quick drive at night to get kids to the dance or go hiking during the day. You should know this is a family park. They do not want party crowds. They don't really want visitors to your site and if you do bring someone in, you have to check them in and pay a day or night pass. This is really just a way to keep everyone's belongings safer. There is LOTS of theft on the Frio, cooler raids...lots of yeti stuff stollen from all the different parks. So they're trying to protect us. There is quiet time just like all the other RV parks also have. No music that can reach outside of your camping area. And if your crowd is noisy, you may not be allowed back. Insurance doesn't allow rope swings from their banks, so no need to even try it, it'll be cut down within the hour. You can also rent camp here if you prefer. There is a maximum amount of people allowed at each site tho. There are clean restrooms, washers and dryers are available at first come first serve. They have tubes for rent, an compressor and will even shuttle you if you ask nicely and they aren't too busy. They have a gator to take people down the hill with their belongings if you ask for help and will even return to get you if you aren't capable of getting back by yourself, which is great for those with mobility issues. So come out and chill, but remember people are tying to get away from crazy bar life and enjoy the country with their families. Be respectful of each other and don't cut through other people's camp sites...everyone is capable of walking on the road. Don't set your seats up in the entrance/exits to the river because you're not the only ones who exist. Don't be the jack ass that blasts music to try and outdo the other jack ass down the river blasting his music. And clean up after your dogs. Nobody wants poo on their shoe.

The keypads to enter get so hot and it is difficult to enter your code mid-day. You have to stand there for a while and wait for it to recognize what number you tapped because of the delay. Not too fun when you have kids and everyone's fingertips are burning when they try to enter the code. 2. I don't believe the cabins are cleaned thoroughly between users. When you leave you have to gather dirty linens together, take out trash, and sweep. I think that's the extent to the cleaning done, with new linens and paper products being added. On our most recent trip I brought counter wipes and wiped both bathroom countertops, and the kitchen counters, and the wipes had dust/dirt all over them. 3. Mysterious stains on our washcloths 4. I don't think the floors are mopped between users, we had an unknown substance on our bathroom floor, and we walked around in socks that turned totally brown. 5. Bring pillows if you come! Each bed comes with 2 flat pillows. The beds are very firm, too. So if you like a softer bed and bigger pillows, accommodate for that. 6. If you want to use your patio you have to clean it. Chances are it'll be COVERED in bird poop. It would be nice if the cleaning person/crew gave everything a good wash out there before the next users came. 7. If you swim in the river there's no where to put your wet items. We wanted to hang them on the patio furniture, but again- everything is covered with bird poop. We didn't want to make creamy bird doo on our swim tops. 8. The entire place is sand and rock. To enter your cabin is a small door mat, and when you step inside your cabin you may or may not have another door mat. Unless you lay a towel down inside and have your family wipe their feet off, dirt will be everywhere. Overall we had a good time as a family. But, as a family with many young kids we bring lots of gear and are ready to just relax when we get there after the long drive. It's unfortunate at the amount of dirt and dust and bird poop. I'd like to just be able to let my kids play without having to spend so much of my own vacation cleaning before we settle in, and also cleaning when we're ready to leave like an Air Bnb makes you do.
