Staying at 7 bluffs cabins is like stepping into the pages of a Texas storybook. Wonder surrounds you. Just a few steps from the sparkling waters of the Frio River, 7Bluffs Cabins rest under the shade of a pecan farm. Your stay is accented by stunning views of bluffs that touch the sky and sparkle sunrise or sunset, all within view of your cabin's front porch. What makes this place so unique is the parade of characters you'll inevitbly encounter from Larry the orange tabby cat, the deer, turkeys and wild pigs who all come around to eat brrakfast and dinner to the horse who makes her home on the ranch across the street. By the end of your stay, you'll come to envy these furry friends who call such a unique place home. The friendly staff add icing to this wonderful cake making 7 bluffs a fantastic visit for a tubing weekend in the summer or a snow birds getaway in the winter.

Reading past reviews seems people have had issues with customer service, but I did not run into that at all and everyone was great! I did not see them bugging the neighbors at all. And they weee up late. FYI- Reviewing Shady Oaks Area, Campsite 3. (1,2,3 & 4) Were not nice But, 5,6,7 etc. are nice. Pro: Lots of shade for sure!! CONS: 1. Super Dusty, makes the inside of your tent disgusting & full of silt 2. No Fire ring 3. Area on a slant, no flat surface area designated for tents & it's all rock and dirt 4. Hard to tell what area is yours 5. Old Bathrooms NEED better ventilation in them they are so disgusting and muggy you can't get dry. (They have new bath houses that are better but further away from Shady Oaks area) They do have nice cold water though and amazing water pressure that will rip your new sun burned skin off! Now I know why this spot was actually available. It truly sucked, sorry to say but that was my experience.... I should have not waited so long to make reservations. Like always there's good spots and bad spots. The river access is great. Plenty of spots to sit and soak, but it's no Garner State Park; There are some deep areas, water seemed warmer than usual. But, ya know no one controls that lol. So back to camping: I was just disappointed since you have to pay so much for the area, you get nickeled and dimed... 10 dollars each additional tent per day, 5 dollars extra per person etc etc... for $536 dollars for camping I expected nicer I guess.... Maybe it was my expectations that disappointed me. Camp Riverview is very RV friendly though, lots of great activities for children and the night sky was amazing. Will I return as a tent camper, NO. Way too expensive, to be crammed between the neighbors and and sleep on dust.... Although the riverfront spots seemed better and nicer, maybe I would have been happier there.

The bathroom was clean and there were no issues with hot water for the showers. We enjoyed walking over to the river in the morning. We were just a 5-10 min drive from Garner State Park. The campgrounds weren't crowded and there weren't any loud or obnoxious guests. Bring your own hand towels, linens, and hand soap.

We camped next to the river. Beautiful country land. The river was so clear you could watch the fish swimming. Make sure you get very clear directions. We knew it was on Highway 55 halfway between Rocksprings and Camp Wood. The GPS will not get you to the gate. It's off by about 3 miles. They don't have a sign and there is no cell service in the area. If you have trouble finding it stop at the little cabin with the red roof. That's family that will help you. It's only 1 mile from there. Hard to find but totally worth it. We will be coming back.

We have over 3 miles of 100 million-year-old, spring-fed riverfront from 6-inch rapids to 8-foot deep bedrock holes and Pecan trees from 50 to 500 years old. The limestone, flint and caliche hills are approximately 500 feet in height. Springs bubble up in the river, out of the ground and run out of solid limestone rock! There are white tailed, axis and fallow deer, black buck antelope, turkey and very many species of birds. In fact, nowhere else on the North American continent is there such a variety of species of birds, as the Texas Hill Country. Hike to see the panoramic views from the cliffs above the river. We suggest bringing your mountain bike or ATV for park transportation and to view the wildlife and scenery.

There's a small river that crosses through the camp site, but the tides were low and it didn't look like you could kayak or tube in it that weekend. It was nice to watch the ducks swim by though. I like that the campsite includes clean restrooms and showers. Each tent site provides you a bench, trash bin, bbq grill, and fire pit. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban in effect during our stay, so we couldn't light a wood fire. There was plenty of space between us and other campers, so it didn't feel cramped. One thing that could be improved is that the field is pretty rocky. We couldn't seem to find a spot for our tent that wouldn't drive a stone in our backs at night. The camp site offers kayak rentals, but it gets to be quite expensive. Visitors can also use the swimming pool located by the front office. If you're feeling hungry, want to grab a drink, or enjoy some entertainment, right by the entrance is a restaurant bar. They've got live music most nights.

It's more of a camper site with a dry-ish field nearby. I feel that this site just had extra land so it offered some camping grounds but you're basically in people's backyards on both sides, and near a highway so lots of car noise. Maybe there are sites offered deeper where you're not so close to roads and peoples homes. Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, but I would probably only return here if I had an RV Camper. Not the best spot for tent camping.
