I'm glad I took the chance. My family and I loved it. Communication with the staff prior to arrival and throughout our stay was great. Check in was easy. The ladies at the front desk are super friendly. The cabin: we stayed in cabin 15. The cabin was spacious. It had two rooms and each room had their own private bathroom. The living room had a couch and a TV. The kitchen was fully equipped. They have a coffee maker. Each cabin has a cute little porch swing and chairs. It also has a picnic table and a barbecue pit. The beds were comfortable. They provide linen. Th. The bathrooms are clean. Toilet paper is provided. Showers have good water pressure and hot water. They do provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also provide towels, but you have to get them at the front desk when you check in. The property has a playground, pool and a splash pad. The river is walking distance from all the cabins. You can take your truck or car down to the river to unload, but you cannot park your vehicle at the river. The river is practically private. It's nice and has plenty of space. They do have floats and kayaks you can rent. I did notice that you could walk a little ways up the river and float back down. The property is clean. The front desk does sell ice. It is an honor system and you pay at the end. Parking is available at each cabin, but they only can accommodate about two cars. If you need an extra parking spot, the front desk can assist you with that. The booking system was super easy.

River Bluff Cabins are located along the Rio Frio just south of Leakey, Texas just off Ranch Road 1120. It's a little slice of heaven conveniently located to the shops and restaurants in Leakey as well as to Garner State Park (not that you will have much reason to go to Garner State Park if you are staying at River Bluff Cabins. We stayed in Casa Cascada, one of their larger cabins. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths plus a full kitchen and two dining areas. The staff at River Bluff Cabins are helpful and very attentive. You will be hard pressed to find a hostess better than Heather. We will be back! That's for sure!

My bestie and I planned a little getaway and wanted to experience a new river, as we live in the DFW area. Let me start with the access to the river is wonderful, plant your chair and relax. There is a small natural pool area as well. You access the river via a stairway or where the land slopes down to the rivers's edge. This part of the river is stunning, and shaded. These cabins are well suited for families and spending all day in the river to return to a place to cook, relax, and rest. The cabins are nice in a basic way, and comfortable. They and provide cookware, coffee pot, microwave, dish soap, kitchen towels, and a fridge. Pro tip - Ensure you bring paper towels, paper plates, trash bags if you are a large family, coffee, and all of your food essentials because Walmart is 45 minutes away in Uvalde and the general store pricing is high. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were more prepared, even though the website is clear on what they provide. I'm not sure what I was expecting, I guess I have just stayed a cozy couples cabins, but it was great for two friends, and I will definitely bring my family back. The cabins are close together (we could see and talk to our neighbors on there patio) so if seclusion and privacy are what you are looking for this may not be the spot. I would strongly recommend it for families as they have common areas for basket ball, volley ball, and a park for the littles. Great stay and Margie at the desk was awesome. Wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back with the family.

My partner and I went and brought four friends and there was plenty of space for all of us. Upon checking in, the woman that runs the place was more than eager to tell us anything we wanted to know about Concan, Garner State Park, and the surrounding towns, such as Leakey. Very friendly and personable staff. At the cabins we stayed at we could not have been more than a couple hundred feet from the Frio River, very beautiful scenery. There is a fire pit outdoors, but having a grill outside your cabin is hit or miss - we didn't have one, but our neighbors did. If you're betting on having one, call ahead to confirm first. The outdoor rules are a little strict (no music, no parking on grass, etc.) I was also confused as to why there was a $30 cleaning fee in addition to your reservations fee because you make your own beds, wash all your dishes, and take out your trash before you leave. Not sure what the cleaning fee was for aside from cleaning the floors. Aside from that, we had a really great experience. The location was idyllic, everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful, and we had a blast. We'd love to come back.

It has a pool table and a jukebox, a fire pit and jacuzzi, a grilling area overlooking the swimming pool and a gazebo next to the pool. There is also a playground for the young one and a horse pit next to it. There is also a deer corn feeder out back which you might get lucky enough to see deer through out the day. We stayed here last year in our RV and had a fabulous time. Great hosts who were relaxing, well…read moremaintained area. This year ... not so much. They now have this thing - self-check in. What? Why do you not want to greet your guests when they arrive? Instead you send a text the day of check-in that gives them directions on how to check themselves in? Why? Oh, and let's not forget, most roads leading into this place have no cell service, so I'm not sure how you're supposed to get this instructional text. If you don't get the text, you drive around and around like we did, until you finally park and go up to the "check-in" building (what do you know!), where they chastise you for not receiving an instructional text that you can't receive because of no cell service in the canyons! Oh, and one more thing for the RVers ... there is a tree on the exit road that should have been either cut back or cut down (hence the "no maintenance") that tore a hole in my RV roof. I understand that this place says "stay at your own risk" or some such noise and can't be held responsible, but to knowingly have trees and branches that can damage people's property just by driving through and trying to exit is not indicative of appreciating their customers to say the least. Do not bring extra vehicles if you can help it (thank me later). But if you look around and get a date booked for the following year on a site you observed and liked, you'll have a better time. We spend two weeks there in June and another in July, but we've also been going since the summer it opened. They're like part of our extended family and we've met so many amazing families out there that have taken us in as a part of their own. It's right across from rock beach of Garner State Park. So you get to mingle with all sorts of people while out on the water and it's a quick drive at night to get kids to the dance or go hiking during the day. You should know this is a family park. They do not want party crowds. They don't really want visitors to your site and if you do bring someone in, you have to check them in and pay a day or night pass. This is really just a way to keep everyone's belongings safer. There is LOTS of theft on the Frio, cooler raids...lots of yeti stuff stollen from all the different parks. So they're trying to protect us. There is quiet time just like all the other RV parks also have. No music that can reach outside of your camping area. And if your crowd is noisy, you may not be allowed back. Insurance doesn't allow rope swings from their banks, so no need to even try it, it'll be cut down within the hour. You can also rent camp here if you prefer. There is a maximum amount of people allowed at each site tho. There are clean restrooms, washers and dryers are available at first come first serve. They have tubes for rent, an compressor and will even shuttle you if you ask nicely and they aren't too busy. They have a gator to take people down the hill with their belongings if you ask for help and will even return to get you if you aren't capable of getting back by yourself, which is great for those with mobility issues. So come out and chill, but remember people are tying to get away from crazy bar life and enjoy the country with their families. Be respectful of each other and don't cut through other people's camp sites...everyone is capable of walking on the road. Don't set your seats up in the entrance/exits to the river because you're not the only ones who exist. Don't be the jack ass that blasts music to try and outdo the other jack ass down the river blasting his music. And clean up after your dogs. Nobody wants poo on their shoe.

They were Super Friendly and gave us golf cart rides down to the river all the way to the spot we selected. We were allowed to post my U.S. NAVY flag up and they even made sure our guests for the day were treated like VIP's too! We went ahead and reserved our same spot for next year! This RV park is the BEST!!

We heard that the InnKeepers from there were now at Utopia River Retreat. So here we are! If you've stayed at the other location, please note, there is not breakfast buffet here. But you do have kitchenette and refrigerator . Quiet and peaceful. Would love to come back soon Oh. You can bring your furr baby too (we left ours at home)
