It was lovely, only issue was that a massive family with tons of kids and 4 loose dogs were right next to our tent site. I'm not sure if we'd stay again, unless they actually start enforcing noise regulations. They partied allllll night and it ruined our experience completely. Oh and be careful of the wild hogs. But otherwise it's a beautiful campground and the staff were very nice with booking.

What is great about the location is you are a very small walk down to the river bank, but way up high on the cliff to get a great view of the area. When the sun gets past 7pm, the oak trees give a lot of shade for the dinner hour. You are also near Old Baldy trailhead if you want to do a quick climb up the tallest peak there. Parkview has all of the amenities like a general store, full service bathrooms that are kept clean, and daily trash pickup. The wifi is pretty unreliable but does work with a delay like satellite internet. If you have AT&T for cellular service, you will be fine in the Concan area. Everyone else will suffer the total disconnect from the virtual world, which you were hoping to get away from, right? I usually go during Father's day week which seems to be a very busy time. It's hard to get a reserved spot during peak times, so be sure to ask to get on a waiting list.

This place was magical. Kids totally forgot about internet here. Adults totally forgot life's obstacles and just hung out in the river. We were six RVs deep in the park and of course C4, my spot was the hangout/ starter spot each day and night. Believe me if you are a stickler for how RV spots are fung shui 'ing then you're going to want lots C4-8. Oh and you are going to need some pretty heavy duty water shoes. The walk to the river and in the river has some pretty painful rocks without good water shoes. Oh and crocs wont cut it as we had to chase them down as they fell off in the river currents. Labor day week river was high enough to float or chill. And perfect temperature. Oh and if you have 5 Turtle Boxes linked up to party mode, they will ask you to turn down the jams. Reading past reviews seems people have had issues with customer service, but I did not run into that at all and everyone was great! I did not see them bugging the neighbors at all. And they weee up late. FYI- Reviewing Shady Oaks Area, Campsite 3. (1,2,3 & 4) Were not nice But, 5,6,7 etc. are nice. Pro: Lots of shade for sure!! CONS: 1. Super Dusty, makes the inside of your tent disgusting & full of silt 2. No Fire ring 3. Area on a slant, no flat surface area designated for tents & it's all rock and dirt 4. Hard to tell what area is yours 5. Old Bathrooms NEED better ventilation in them they are so disgusting and muggy you can't get dry. (They have new bath houses that are better but further away from Shady Oaks area) They do have nice cold water though and amazing water pressure that will rip your new sun burned skin off! Now I know why this spot was actually available. It truly sucked, sorry to say but that was my experience.... I should have not waited so long to make reservations. Like always there's good spots and bad spots. The river access is great. Plenty of spots to sit and soak, but it's no Garner State Park; There are some deep areas, water seemed warmer than usual. But, ya know no one controls that lol. So back to camping: I was just disappointed since you have to pay so much for the area, you get nickeled and dimed... 10 dollars each additional tent per day, 5 dollars extra per person etc etc... for $536 dollars for camping I expected nicer I guess.... Maybe it was my expectations that disappointed me. Camp Riverview is very RV friendly though, lots of great activities for children and the night sky was amazing. Will I return as a tent camper, NO. Way too expensive, to be crammed between the neighbors and and sleep on dust.... Although the riverfront spots seemed better and nicer, maybe I would have been happier there.

When we first got there, I asked if they had coffee filters since we forgot them at home, and they gave me a handful of their personal ones! The entire staff is so sweet and accommodating. We stayed at an RV spot which were clean and had high end BBQ pits. The bathrooms and showers were VERY clean! We were quite impressed. They had great amenities- basketball court, pickle ball, pool, playground etc! We will be coming back for sure, especially in the summer to take advantage of the water fun!

This photo says it all. Bathroom/showers scheduled for remodel, but they are clean and tidy. Laundry room is also neat as a pin. Cabins were being re-roofed during our stay. The sites are wide, level gravel and each has a big charcoal grill and picnic table. Half the sites are pull-thru, half are back-in. There is no television signal in the valley, but there is Dish equipment you can get from the office at no charge. Highly recommend it. Towing on Cty Rd 348...I would recommend only doing it from 83, which is kind of a wheel-gripper itself. 348 coming from 127 in Concan would be a nightmare. Once you're unhooked and settled in, take a drive across the river on 348 and you'll see what I mean. You'll love this park, and you'll love the owners. Don't forget to buy some corn for the deer and Rio Grande turkeys when you visit the office!

This is a family tradition at this point. My Kids and I love the dance and the hiking and the river. It used to be a yearly thing, but since it's gotten so busy and the kids have gotten bigger, we go about every other year now. I now have a daughter that is an adult herself and she still plans on coming.

Great host, Carlos, who served us local smoked sausage on tortillas -yum. He's also a great photographer and lives on site. They own Rock Island which includes quite a long stretch of the riverside and is popular for day use but not directly in the Campground so it's quiet and peaceful. Facilities at Rock Island were included In site fees so we could enjoy the area at our leisure. Thanks for the great time and we will stop back by when we next come through the area

I highly recommend it. The attendant was very friendly and very helpful in showing the place. It's a small family ran place. This is one of those places you return to year after year.
