My bestie and I planned a little getaway and wanted to experience a new river, as we live in the DFW area. Let me start with the access to the river is wonderful, plant your chair and relax. There is a small natural pool area as well. You access the river via a stairway or where the land slopes down to the rivers's edge. This part of the river is stunning, and shaded. These cabins are well suited for families and spending all day in the river to return to a place to cook, relax, and rest. The cabins are nice in a basic way, and comfortable. They and provide cookware, coffee pot, microwave, dish soap, kitchen towels, and a fridge. Pro tip - Ensure you bring paper towels, paper plates, trash bags if you are a large family, coffee, and all of your food essentials because Walmart is 45 minutes away in Uvalde and the general store pricing is high. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were more prepared, even though the website is clear on what they provide. I'm not sure what I was expecting, I guess I have just stayed a cozy couples cabins, but it was great for two friends, and I will definitely bring my family back. The cabins are close together (we could see and talk to our neighbors on there patio) so if seclusion and privacy are what you are looking for this may not be the spot. I would strongly recommend it for families as they have common areas for basket ball, volley ball, and a park for the littles. Great stay and Margie at the desk was awesome. Wonderful stay. The manager, Veronica, is an absolute gem. She helped us with so many things from getting extra linens to giving us ideas for places to eat, since we were there during off peak times and early in the week. The spot that they are on in the river is absolutely stunning. The cabin we were in was peaceful and quiet. It was also just a short walk to have a beautiful view over the river and if you took a different path you could easily hop in. The back porch of the cabin was serene with bird feeders and even a humming bird feeder! There is a fire pit and a bbq pit if you feel like doing your own cooking. The cabin has all the necessary things for you to do your cooking for the entire time. I will say, prepare to be in the shower a touch longer, as the water pressure was somewhat low, but man...when water pressure is your single complaint, you know you're in heaven!!! I highly recommend this place and we will for sure stay here again. It's also reasonably priced. I advise if you're not trying to accommodate a summer schedule to go during the off season to enjoy a few less people.

If you want to go "off the grid," it's perfect. They do have internet in the cabins but no tv - and only minimal cell reception is with AT&T. But this place makes it so easy to forget the rest of the world & simply relax! If you have a small family, the one bedroom smaller cabins are ideal, which is where we stayed the first time. This time we stayed with another couple in one of the two bedroom cabins & had plenty of space with 4 adults & 3 kids. Tell Butch the Disney's sent you! :)

We rented three cabins for six of us and all thoroughly enjoyed them. The beds were comfortable and the cabins were clean. Easy walk to the mercantile store and other businesses as well. The owners were very friendly, easy to work with and accommodating. They are a great resource of information and suggestions. Overall a great experience and we will certainly be back.
