Absolutely the Best BBQ in Nashville - Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd is a Must-Try!…read more I recently visited Honey Fire BBQ in the Bellevue area and left completely impressed. From the moment you walk in, the place feels welcoming with its clean, modern vibe and that cozy wrap-around covered porch--perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. The star of the show is their slow-smoked meats paired with that signature sweet heat sauce. The brisket was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, the ribs had the perfect bark and fall-off-the-bone texture, and the pulled pork was juicy and delicious. Their house-made sauces (especially the honey-based ones with just the right touch of tangy sweetness and a little kick) elevate everything--I've never tasted BBQ quite like this Nashville twist on tradition. Sides were equally outstanding: the baked beans had a great depth of flavor, the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the sweet corn pudding was a standout. Everything felt fresh, generous, and made with care. Service was friendly and efficient--true Southern hospitality that made us feel like family. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, this spot delivers every time. If you're in Nashville (or driving through Bellevue), do yourself a favor and head to Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd. It's become my new go-to for outstanding barbecue. Highly recommend. I will definitely return and bring friends. From our family to yours--thank you, Honey Fire!

Stopped into Hogwood BBQ in Franklin for dinner after a long, exhausting day and it absolutely hit…read morethe spot. I went with the Hogwood Sampler which comes with chicken, sausage, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, plus mac-n-cheese on the side. All in it was $27.89 plus tax, which feels like pretty fair market value for the amount and quality of food you're getting. The food itself was incredible. Way too many barbecue places lean way too hard on sauce to do the heavy lifting. That is not the case here. Every single meat had deep, legit smoky flavor on its own and honestly didn't even need sauce. That said, the sauces were also excellent. The Alabama white paired perfectly with the chicken, and the spicy tomato-based red sauce had a great kick without overpowering anything. Drink selection was another pleasant surprise. They've got Coke products and Tractor Organic Beverages. I mixed their unsweet tea with the Tractor mango and made myself a mango tea that worked way better than it had any right to. If I had to nitpick, the side selection is a little limited for my personal taste. I'm always hoping for fries or hush puppies, though to be fair that's not uncommon for BBQ joints around here. I also ran into a sticky spot on the table that clearly hadn't been fully wiped down from a previous guest. That said, the food was good enough that it still lands as a five-star experience for me. Hogwood BBQ is an excellent choice if you're looking for seriously good barbecue in Franklin.

Wanted to love. Hoped I'd love it. I didn't love it. Actually, I didn't even like it…read more Went in hungry around 2:00. It's a counter service joint; you walk up, order, and then someone runs the food to your table. First off, they asked for a point of service tip; that bugs me when I'm ordering my own food at the counter and fetching my own drinks. The menu is fairly standard for a southern BBA joint; brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, chicken. I am generally suspicious of any place that offers chopped brisket. Brisket is meant to be sliced and enjoyed as a slab of meat, not as a pile of hash. So, the chopped brisket sandwich was out for me. I asked if the brisket platter would be served as slices, and they assured me it was, so I ordered brisket with two sides. They recommended the beans and the Mac 'n cheese, so that's what I went with. They also asked me if I wanted the meat lean, marbled, or half and half; I took that as a good sign, and asked for marbled. They food came out in about 5 mins; just enough time for me to head to the soda fountain and fill my own cup. Maybe they should tip me? On the plus side, the portions were pretty large. I'm guessing that the served at least 6-8 ounces of brisket, and the individual sides were pretty large as well. On the other hand, whoever sliced the brisket simply didn't know what they were doing. They sliced it WITH the grain, producing slices full of stringy meat. Stringy meat that was hard to cut with the plastic cutlery provided. I find it hard to believe that anyone who regularly serves BBQ brisket doesn't know to cut the meat against the grain. The meat appeared to feature a nice bark; however, on further exploration, a) the bark was so tough that it couldn't be cut as all with the plastic cutlery, and b) when I tore into it with my fingers and ate a piece, it had no taste. Not even a basic Texas salt and pepper rub could be detected. A large portion of tasteless, poorly cut meat does no one any favors. The beans were a little underdone; IMHO, that's far better than mushy, overcooked beans. However, they, too, had no flavor. No spice, nada. The mac and cheese was shells in a white cheese sauce. Strike 3; zero flavor for the sauce. I don't know how you can make cheese sauce without flavor, but they managed to do so. I have never, ever thrown as much food away at a a BBQ joint than I did today. What a shame. Not recommended, not even a little bit. Try Martin's or Edley's; if you prefer a chain, Mission BBQ will do you much better than Hogwood.

My dear Ronnie's BBQ,…read more You never opened your doors, and now, after seeing the calendar, I understand why. Juneteenth came, and with it, another day spent staring longingly at your darkened windows. I don't imagine you'll ever read this letter, but my heart insists that I write it anyway. Ronnie's... oh, Ronnie's. I was beginning to believe again. I had visions of smoky barbecue, tender pulled pork, and the comfort only your food could bring. But every time I arrived these past months, I was met not with the smell of hickory smoke, but with locked doors and silent parking lots. My hope faded a little more with each visit. When your lights are on, the world feels right. But when I pull into the parking lot and find another "Closed" sign staring back at me, I realize that ours is a love destined to be tested by unfortunate timing. Perhaps fate simply refuses to let us be together. Perhaps I am forever cursed to crave what I cannot have. You've broken my heart more times than I care to admit. And yet, somehow, I know that if I saw your "Open" sign tomorrow, I would come running back without hesitation. Such is the burden of loving great barbecue. So I leave you with this letter--not in anger, but in sorrow. I return to you my appetite, though I suspect it will find its way back the moment your smoker starts up again. Until that glorious day, I must try to move on... though we both know I won't. Forever waiting in your parking lot, Your most loyal, and repeatedly heartbroken, customer.

There were signs saying 'Drive through only' and it wrapped around the smoker pit, and stack of hardwood. The smoke/meaty smell was making me hungry and stomach growl before I could get to the order speaker. The menu was focused on BBQ staples, from pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and brisket on the meat side. Sides were as you would expect both kinds of slaw and other dishes that make you take notice. They worked with me to get me an out of town hungry guy tray...ok I ordered 1/2 # of most meats. I ended up with brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, and some ribs. The half smoked chicken was some of the best I have had in my life, and was the fist thing I finished off. Lots of great flavor and tenderness. The ribs were tender, flavorful and made me want more. The brisket was tender, juicy and just full of flavor. The pulled pork was also good and very tasty. I'd go back for more if I am ever in the area

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by one of the sweetest hosts, who made us feel genuinely welcome. We had made a reservation, and our table was ready immediately, making for a smooth and stress-free start to our meal. I would highly recommend making a reservation at least a day in advance--two days if you're visiting on a weekend or during peak travel times. It was clear this place is popular, and for good reason. Our server, Cody, truly made the experience unforgettable. Hands down, he is the best server I've ever had anywhere. He took the time to thoroughly walk us through the menu, explain the daily specials, answer all of our questions, and offer recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire dining experience. We ordered the pancakes, omelets, and of course, the famous biscuits. The biscuits absolutely deserve the hype! They were warm, buttery, fluffy, and practically melted in your mouth. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the omelets were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. One thing I really appreciated is that while Loveless Cafe offers a supper menu in the evenings, breakfast is served all day. That's perfect for anyone like me who believes breakfast tastes good no matter what time it is! It's easy to see why Loveless Cafe has become such a Nashville staple. Between the warm Southern hospitality, outstanding service, and incredible food, this was an experience we'll be talking about long after breakfast. If you're visiting Nashville, or even if you're a local who hasn't been yet, put Loveless Cafe at the top of your list. And if you're lucky enough to have Cody as your server, you're in for an exceptional experience!

Even sampling some of their famous country ham from Toby's plate was a memorable experience. I only wish I had a bigger stomach because the portions are just so massive here. The server couldn't have been nicer. He was even the one to suggest to us that he preferred the pork chops over the ham. That was such a good choice to me. Sadly, we didn't have coffee this morning because we had a long scenic drive and didn't want to make any more stops than necessary. But I bet he would've been right on the ball with those refills. The ambiance was great. It was such a nice layout and had interesting decor that made you feel you were a guest at their house. It also had that perfect occupancy where you could tell how popular they were but not so crowded you had to wait for a table. I'm definitely coming back here next time I'm in Tennessee because this place is a great find.
