Crazy great goat stew. That and the jollof rice together are some of the better things I've ever had from a food truck.

I had heard about this place by word of mouth. Its tucked away a little off the main road. If you…read moresee "The Horn" that is the parking lot you need to go to to park for here. It is Somali cuisine. Most of the dishes are a meat with either pasta or rice. I got the Goat with rice. They give you a pitcher of what seems like orange kool aid (sorry no disrespect). I can't really have sweets so I asked for a bottle of water. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. There is a sink on the outside of the men's room and I know in places like Afghanistan, they have these sinks to wash your hands because you eat with your hands - it is sunna to eat with your hands (spoons are also provided). They also have a little sectioned off area for people to pray in a similar way that places like House of Kebab have a prayer room. Everything is Halal and there seemed to be a fair amount of people in there. The rice was very flavorful. It reminded me of the rice at Al Rasoul or Osh. It had some raisin and red onion - the flavor combination was very delicious. The goat was as expected. The flavor was good, be wary of small bones. The cost may seem higher than expected but it was a LOT of food. I ate off it for the next several days. Also if you want to support a locally owned Somali business I recommend it.

Nico’s Restaurant and lounge - Watery Egusi with stale meat

I really hate to give a Nolensville ethnic restaurant a 3 star review, but I can't justify anything…read moreelse. Let me start out by saying the owner/server was SUPER friendly, and the food was not bad at all. However, here are some things to note. First, they aren't open according to the hours posted online (I believe they are only open 3 days a week now). Second, outside, the parking lot is full of cars with flat tires and there is an odd smell. Next, when you walk inside the restaurant, it is like a huge sort of abandoned ballroom with a deserted, empty bar, and many retro looking tables. A lot of the booths are hard to sit at because the table is so far from the actual seating. Initially, there was no one around at ALL, so we were confused on what to do, but then a man peeked his head out from a window at the very back of the room and told us to order there. We both just got the chicken egusi with fufu. If you dont know, fufu is a sort of playdough like food made out of pounded yam that you dip into stews and eat with your hands. Egusi a stew made of gourd seeds. He said it would take 10 minutes to come out but it actually took 25. We didn't mind too much, though. The food was PIPING hot when it came out, almost too much to touch. It also comes in to-go styrofoam containers. Each order got 2 wrapped logs of fufu and a container of chicken egusi. The egusi was pretty flavorful, and since I'm not an expert on it, I can't say much else, but it was good. The chicken legs were moist and flavorful as well, and we liked the texture of the fufu. It has a sort of very very mild potato-y taste to it, and it's great to take a piece with your hands and eat with the egusi. I just wish there were some more vibrant, striking flavors but the egusi was mostly nutty, which I'm assuming it is supposed to be. Overall, I think you should definitely come here if you want to try fufu and never have before, but be prepared for a slightly weird experience.

I really appreciated that and I hope the cook felt appreciated as well. There is a lot for me to try, the drive was worth it! My friends and I went to Gojo for lunch on a weekday. I've been a few times before and their food…read morewas amazing just as it always is. I went with five other friends and we shared two meat and veg combos and one other meat dish which was a great amount of food for the six of us. I will also add that so often at first it seems like it might not be enough food, but the Injera that they serve with everything which is the bread that you use to eat, is so yummy and filling that you will feel so happy with the meal. We ordered the combos with Kik Alicha (Yellow Split Peas), Shiro Wet (Ground Chickpeas), Potato & Beets, Mushroom Wet, Key Wet (Beef), Yebeg Alicha (Lamb), Doro Wet (Chicken), and Minchet Abish Dega (Beef). Honestly, I could not always tell which dish was which, but they were all so yummy that it really doesn't matter (also you can totally tell which is which based on the great description from the menu haha). Can't wait to go back again in the future! Also parking can be a little tricky. I have never had a problem with parking since they do have their own parking lot, but depending on how busy they are it can get full so just be on the lookout for that!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!…read more My friends and I unfortunately had an awful experience! The service was not great and the ambiance was basic. We waited 20 mins before we were asked for our beverage order and even longer to order food. We stayed because of our excitement to try. The server kept forgetting our order and never told me the appetizer I ordered was sold out until I asked. I got the veggie plate and was disappointed because my food came out cold. My friends got the lamb and chicken, they hated it. I was told the meat was tough and not cooked well. Overall, none of us liked our food and will not go back

Delicious, fresh, and flavorful meats, veggies, and injera. All of the dishes were so satisfying. I assume that they're Eritrean (Habesha cousins of Ethiopians) because the names of my favorite dishes seem to be a different language from their Ethiopian counterparts' Amharic. But the flavor was never lost in translation! I ordered Combo # 3 for $18.99. It comes with your choice of 4 vegetables (out of 5 preselected options) and one salad (out of three preselected choices). The side choices are quinoa, injera, or white rice. I confirmed with them that they use teff, meaning the injera is gluten free. They also offer 3 spice levels: regular, spicy, and extra spicy. I love all five vegetable options so it was hard to decide. I ended up choosing the Red Lentils, Yellow Lentils, Tikil Gomen (the cabbage dish), and Collard Greens. Everything was excellent! 10/10! (Everything I ordered was vegan and gluten free.) I ordered spicy because I love spicy food. But let me tell you... I was not prepared for the authentic African spices they hit me with. My bad! I will never underestimate them again. I had to literally sit the injera on my tongue first, then put the food in my mouth in order to finish my meal. LOL Next time I'll be a good little American and order it the normal way. I'll try their fosolia (green beans and carrots) next time. The Shiro also looks good, but it's only available as a full entree. They operate out of a food hall, so it's take out only. I ordered online and my food was ready at the promised time. The customer service was excellent and the lady (whom I'm assuming was the owner) was very nice and helpful. I will definitely order from them again.
