    a band performing on stage
    Chaudhry A.

The performance was extraordinary for which I was here. Quite an auditorium however compact seating which makes a bit uncomfortable to adjust for a couple of hours. A few seating levels and I was up close. Being too close to the stage has its own pros and cons. A better view would've been in the middle of the hall. Staff there was very helpful and was making sure that the audience will enjoy their time.

    Iration 91X VIP show
    Karen N.

We were here for the 91x VIP Iration show, and I was impressed by the theater. It isn't easy to find, accessible only from the escalator or elevators, and at the far end of the 3rd floor smoking slots. The theater is very small, and it definitely is "up close". It doesn't look like there would really be a bad seat in the house, unless maybe in the extreme corners. The small size may mean that you are paying a higher ticket price for the show, to make the artist's minimum. I was sitting first row, right, on the aisle. It is a little low compared to the stage level, so you might be better sitting a few rows back so you're not craning your neck. My seat was great until everyone stood in front of me, blocking my view until I too stood up. Just know that this is a possibility. I will definitely be more likely to look at the shows coming to L&UC, now that I've seen it.

The main room for shows is decently sized, but there isn't a bad seat in the venue. They had a relatively large food & drink menu which was awesome! We ordered their Philly Cheesesteak Fries and they were delicious! The servers came and checked in throughout the show and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking is easy which you wouldn't be able to say about most venues of this kind. Definitely worth coming to a show here!

My friend and I were shocked by how fancy this place is on the inside, especially the Gold Room where we attended a show. The Gold Room is a more intimate experience with the comedians as it's a room that fits ~20-30 people which makes the experience more worthwhile as everyone in the audience is included in the show. Surprisingly the food here was SOOO good which we were not expecting at all. We got the chicken katsu and the chicken was SOOOO JUICYYYY and the fries it came with were well seasoned. I do wish they had different sauces for the chicken katsu that were house made but it's ok, at least the food itself was good. The virgin drinks are also really delicious here. Food can be ordered at any time throughout the show, all you have to do is click a call button on your table. Overall great experience, everyone that worked here was so nice, def would be back!

My Dad was a stand-up comedian, so I grew up going to shows. I have very specific ideas about what makes a good experience. I like the new location for some reasons like easier parking, inside lineup which is good in cold or rainy weather, etc. It's still small on the scale of some clubs, so you won't be too far away from the action. Usual two-item minimum, which is standard. They kept the pizza menu from before, so decent options for food. My friends ordered breadsticks, and those were pretty good. My usual at comedy is a dessert and a coke, so I tried the chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. It was good, a large portion, and the raspberry helped cut through the intense chocolate flavor. It looked like a much better deal than the piece of cheesecake that the next table ordered. They have free offers for people on the mailing list from time to time, and some larger name comedians. Our show was postponed last-minute, so they gave us free admission to the replacement show.

That's just part of the experience. The atmosphere was good overall. Service came off a little rude at times, but honestly that's kind of expected in these types of venues, so it didn't ruin anything. They do take your phones, which might catch some people off guard, but it wasn't a big deal for us. I'd definitely like to see a bigger-name headliner there at some point, but overall it was a fun night and we'll be back.

So when you arrive you have to put your phone in a pocket slip its locked. So you can't be on your phone etc during the show. You have to step out if you need to take a call.I do like that policy with the no phones out during the show. I noticed immediately how the entire crowd before the show started chatting amongst one another it was refreshing. Not something you see much of anymore because we are all glued to our phones. So I hope they keep that rule. The drinks were good. Service was good. As soon as they open they give you a complete rundown of the rules. Which is great. They manage the lines well. They don't have a food menu. Some popcorn at most I believe. I only got drinks. FYI: DO NOT PARK AT PAVILIONS THEY WILL TOW YOU!! Take a lyft/uber or find street parking. A little challenging but not impossible promise. Only issue I would say is it was extremely hott inside during the show. Hope it wouldn't be that bad in the future for shows I'd love to attend here.

I've come here regularly over the last 10 years or so and have seen amazing comics such as Mark Christopher Lawrence, Jerrod Carmichael, Anjelah Johnson, Cheeto Santino, Jonny Loquasto, Michael Kosta, Melissa Villaseñor, Alonzo Bodden, Shawn Pelofsky, Tony Baker, Adam Ray, Jesse Egan, Zoltan Kaszas, Mal Hall, and so many more! For the price, it's priceless. No drink minimums, stellar atmosphere, and just an overall great place to bring a date, a friend, or even your parents. I've seen bachelor/bachelorette parties, coworker gatherings, and a slew of birthdays all being celebrated here. Honestly there's not a lot of better places to spend 7-30pm-9:30pm on a Friday night (shows are typically once a month on the last Friday of the month). Head downtown, grab some dinner, come to the show, and then you can party the night away in the beautiful Gaslamp Quarter. If you're up for a night of LAUGHS come here and you won't be disappointed! We were looking for a fun evening to bring in the Christmas spirit post Thanksgiving and I saw this advertised concert on the website that I thought our daughter would really enjoy. I went ahead and purchased our tickets which were very reasonable for a show. I love that Belly Up has its own website so people can still afford to attend their shows. We saw Grammy nominated and Father of Contemporary Jazz David Benoit perform all the Peanuts Christmas songs from A Charlie Brown Christmas. WOW! What a terrific show! We sat on the main floor right up close to the stage and we all had such a good time especially our daughter as it was a surprise show for her. The layout is perfect with lots of open space, a bar area, dance floor and a second level. It is quite large inside but you cannot see that from the outside. Acoustics are perfect and David Benoit is still the master of the piano. He had a guest vocalist Courtney Fortune which added to the evening performance. Parking is about the only challenge so we made sure to arrive extra early and grabbed a spot right out front. Also parking was free! I definitely recommend this venue for good service and great music.

We came hungry and almost grabbed food before arriving, but decided to wait -- good thing we did because they actually serve food here along with drinks. We ordered the hamburger sliders with truffle fries, plus beer and a cola. The food was solid and hit the spot. Only small downside was the soda -- it was flat and didn't have carbonation. But everything else made up for it. Overall, such a fun spot with great live music, good food, and a lively atmosphere. Can't wait to be back!
