I have seen shows like Who's Line is it Anyways? but never really had an opportunity to see improv (until now). On Sundays, this place can be closed but because students were performing, I came to see a 9pm show. Parking in the area is a disaster, seems San Diego wants to charge for parking everywhere. I did find a spot on the street which doesn't charge on Sundays. Friend did a good job with improv and the starting theme was laundry which moved on to disappearing socks, stealing socks, etc. I enjoyed the half hour improv. They also offer a free class if you were interested in improv classes and all the staff here very friendly and warm. Overall, a fun experience, got me out of my comfort zone and now I can say I have seen improv live. Id come back here again to see another show.

She should have instructed us more, though: Being specific about how to make our scenes better. Mostly, we did scene after scene without much specific feedback, so I'm not sure I progressed. I would have appreciated a mix of being supportive, but also offering helpful suggestions.

The theatre is small and tucked away near a British pub. Parking is rough on the busy streets but we found a spot in the residential area nearby. We arrived close to the start of the show, so there was not a long wait to check in. The process was quick and they sell reasonably priced popcorn and drinks in the entryway. They do open seating in the very small, intimate theater. The show started promptly and the energy was so fun. The host was high energy and both teams gave it their all. Essentially, the two teams compete against each other with the voting being done by audience cheers. I'm glad to say that the team I was rooting for won! Throughout the show, they would often invite audience participation but they do not force it on anyone, and it is all very good natured. Time flew by and there was a 15 min intermission in the middle. The bathroom is outside the theater and there were staff member standing by to direct lost patrons. At the end of the show, the cast members stood by the exit to chat, and accept congratulations and high-fives as we left. I had a great first live comedy experience at the National Comedy Theatre, and I would love to attend more of their shows in the future!

There are little sections separated by railings, which add a little separation. We paid for the VIP up top (not the four-top tables). We could choose to sit on a counter/bar stool with a thin-line bar top. But, it was farther back and you looked down at the people in front of you. So we moved to the right side in a standing section. The best! On the rail. Had a table to set drinks on. Private bathroom for upper level guests. Way worth it. One thing I wish they did was sell the 4-tops in twos. They are great. It, it's not always easy getting four people together for a show. Oh. Parking is a breeze. Structure across the way validates for concerts.

The venue itself is really huge, I've been for a couple podcast tours but it was always seated so getting to come where there was open floor was fun. Lots of space for dancing and letting our little hearts live in the music. Would totally come back or another event here!

It is very interactive so for that reason, I think it's definitely an acquired taste. The actors were incredible and really knew how to keep the audience engaged. I really wish the actors had a microphone because even though the room is small, it echos and when anybody at your table laughs, you miss what they are saying. I also did not like how close we were sitting to each other at the table. They should have less people at each table and bring more tables in. The food was the reason I took off a star. The food was incredibly disappointing. For $70, you would think they could serve better food. It's a 3 course meal and all were bad. The appetizer was like 4 tomatoes with balsamic. Not a salad and very small for an appetizer. I'm really glad they had a pita bread and hummus bar in the beginning because that kept me full until the main course. I got the vegetarian option which was pasta with veggies but the pasta was so over cooked it was like mush. I've never had pasta that soft. My bf got the chicken and he also felt it was too dry and it wasn't served with anything with substance like mashed potatoes or veggies or anything. Just some piece of kale. Dessert was cake. I thought it was cheesecake but it was more like coffee cake. Also very bland. No frosting or anything, just a little whip cream. Other than food, it was so much fun!!

I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots.
