Had a great experience at Mic Drop Comedy! Came here for a show on a Friday evening. It was very well organized and the service was great! The main room for shows is decently sized, but there isn't a bad seat in the venue. They had a relatively large food & drink menu which was awesome! We ordered their Philly Cheesesteak Fries and they were delicious! The servers came and checked in throughout the show and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking is easy which you wouldn't be able to say about most venues of this kind. Definitely worth coming to a show here! read more

Hands down the nicest comedy club in SD. Parking here is TOO easy and FREE unlike other places which is def a plus of this place. My friend and I were shocked by how fancy this place is on the inside, especially the Gold Room where we attended a show. The Gold Room is a more intimate experience with the comedians as it's a room that fits ~20-30 people which makes the experience more worthwhile as everyone in the audience is included in the show. Surprisingly the food here was SOOO good which we were not expecting at all. We got the chicken katsu and the chicken was SOOOO JUICYYYY and the fries it came with were well seasoned. I do wish they had different sauces for the chicken katsu that were house made but it's ok, at least the food itself was good. The virgin drinks are also really delicious here. Food can be ordered at any time throughout the show, all you have to do is click a call button on your table. Overall great experience, everyone that worked here was so nice, def would be back! read more

I visited twice last week and have mixed feelings about the experiences. By coincidence I was sat in the same place both times, yet the service was as different as night and day. When I visited on Wednesday I was with one friend. We purchased tickets at the door and were treated very well. The service was just fine, The Old Fashion was strong and the fries were fresh and comforting. The comic was better than expected, and the crowd was great. On Friday the comic was much more well known, I was with a group of five, and we had pre-purchased tickets. The line to enter was long yet not unbearable. We were seated and orders were taken. One person in the party ordered a non- alcoholic drink. I don't know if that was the reason she wasn't served or if it was because she was melanated with a light Caribbean accent. She was one of two veterans in our party. Everyone at the table was served except for that friend. The woman who took our orders avoided eye contact and went out of her way to keep our table out of her path for at least 40 minutes. We were relieved when we got the attention of a young man to ask if he could assist. Apparently this was an offense ss he admonished that he was not our server. The brilliant was less prevalent than the customer service. Another 20 minutes went by with both servers avoiding our party. After nearly an hour passed and the show had begun , we were able to get the attention of a busser who seemed happy to serve the ginger ale as he produced it in less than 5 minutes. The initial server finally decided our table existed and approached to offer refills. She had the nerve to look straight at the woman she'd neglected. None of us acknowledged her. It was weird. The show ended, and we watched the staff busily clear tables while we waited for an exit route to clear. I'm still puzzled about that second visit - to the point that I'm unsure if I'll return. read more

Overview: First time at a comedy club, won't be my last, great comics and seats ---- I saw the 9:30pm show for Ray Lau and he was great. Doors were supposed to open at 9pm so people were already lining up when I got there. I got to the venue at 9pm and was inside by 9:20pm. They say seating is first-come-first serve, but when you go inside they assign your seats for you. My seat was great really close to the stage and all the chairs point to the stage. They servers are very friendly and attentive, refilling our waters multiple times. I didn't try their food but the other people at the table ordered some and it looked great. There were a total of 3 comedians, 2 before the headliner who ended up on stage at 10:17pm and then did their set for about an hour and a bit longer. Everyone was super funny and it was an awesome experience! I'm so happy that they also don't have a 2 drink minimum requirement like some of the other comedy clubs I've heard of. ---- Overall: what a fantastic and hilarious night, very organized and won't be my last time here! read more

I haven't been to this spot in years and it has gone through a major upgrade. Love the new set up. Saw Sarper from 90 day fiancé and he was great! The other two comedians were great too, good stage presence. Food was much better than I thought it would be. Got the flatbread (ricotta one), fried chicken and sidewinder fries. Both yummy. I got the dirty soda NA and it was soooo good! My husband got an old-fashioned and I had a sip, very good! Had a cute rose shaped ice cube in it. Restrooms plentiful and clean. Had a great time!! They have a great menu and the food looked pretty good. The service was awesome from our waitress. The ambience / music got louder and louder and louder in that small room and so people just kept yelling louder and louder. It really did get extreme. So there were quite a few comics that were pretty funny and we liked them all. Except for the introducer person, she was insulting the audience and she pretty much said that guys were like Gumby and that she wished she really didn't ever see them. This was sad and two guys left when she said this. So at that point she really did lose half the audience. Everyone was silent after that and nobody laughed at the following statements she made. She called the whole audience, Old because we kind of weren't agreeing with her very descriptive words about men and their parts. We have been too many many comedy Shows. And this was the worst. This introducer person also called the audience old after no one responded for a good while. She said one or two quite funny things. And then continued again with another Old Statement. I bravely went solo to Mic Drop Comedy on Clairemont Mesa Blvd for my very first time on December 7, 2025 Such a hilarious "Singles in Sweaters" event. It was an absolute blast!! Pure fun from start to finish! I even scored a brand-new gal friend in the crowd! This event was comedy show mixed with a few brave bachelors hopping on stage for a live matchmaking game. My new pal totally talked me into joining the fun for the first guy... and thanks to my cheeky answer to one of his questions, I got dubbed a "sugar mama"! LOL forever. Though next time, I'm dragging my bestie Michelle along for the chaos. ‍ I was a tad bummed by the menu. Super limited options, so I just went with classic French fries. The vibe at this comedy spot was electric & super fun! I was totally smitten with their festive Christmas tree twinkling near the front bar. **Pro Tip: If you've got leftovers, you'll need to ask for a paper bag. Everything here is first class. The seating is comfortable, the wait staff is really nice, the bathrooms are clean, the food is outstanding, the drinks are delicious, there's no drink minimum. If you're a designated driver or just don't drink alcohol, they have alcohol free cocktails, soda with free refills, water and coffee - and you also get a ticket to another show for free! The prices here are very affordable and they bring in TOP TIER talent - Jo Koy, Leslie Jones, etc! 1000% would recommend. We love Mic Drop. We have been here twice to see pretty big names in comedy. This is that "I saw them in a crazy, tiny club" kind of venue. From check-in, to seating us, to taking our drink and food orders, to dismissing the whole audience and flipping the room for the next show, the staff operates like a well-oiled machine. Very friendly, very professional and good at what they do. I enjoyed the flatbread, like a flat pizza. Had a great mocktail with good flavor combinations. My wife enjoyed her drink. The salad wasn't my favorite. Just a but to simple for the price. Most of the items were reasonably priced and our orders came out fast. LOVED mic drop! It's in the most random spot! (There is a PHOnomenal pho spot right there (Phở Duyên Mai) and 10/10 would recommend getting food there before the show.) Back to mic drop - we had GA tickets for Jared Freid. The first show ran long (Jared takes photos after his shows with fans - which is amazing and so generous - but it can impact timing a little bit). Parking was tough here, since the lot is small and the first show was still getting out. Might recommend taking a Lyft/Uber. The line for GA started about 30 min before the show. The bathroom is inside the club, so just be sure to tell the host if you need it before doors open. You can get drinks at the bar while you wait. Club is really cool. I wasn't sure what to expect. It's a good size, but it seems like you'd have a good view from anywhere. Bar closes when the club opens and servers were slammed, so would recommend drinks before doors open - or you'll wait. Their team was really nice, and they came around with water for people. Can't wait to come back! read more

There are other food options on their menu but unsure how good it would be. The comedians are funny and started punctually. There was one bright light (located stage left) that was pointed at the stage at the comedian. Since I was sitting stage right, the light was annoying me during the show and made it hard to focus. We saw Shayne Smith on Saturday, December 13, and overall had a great experience at Mic Drop Comedy. Parking was incredibly easy thanks to their location next to a business park that's usually empty by showtime. It's right off the 163 and close to both the 52 and 15, making arrival and departure stress-free. Check-in was smooth and required ID, which felt organized and secure. The inside is themed around Alice in Wonderland, and you really feel the ambiance as soon as you walk in. One standout perk was their designated driver reward: ordering non-alcoholic drinks earns you a free VIP ticket for a future show. Between two Diet Cokes and their signature mango non-alcoholic drink, we ended up with three tickets, which was a nice bonus. That said, while Diet Cokes are supposed to include free refills, getting one was more effort than it should've been. Drinks are $9, so having to repeatedly flag down the hostess, who passed our table several times, was frustrating and took away a bit from the experience. Food came out hot and quickly, and the birria tacos and fries were perfectly portioned. Tables are shared on a first-come basis, but we arrived early and had VIP, so we were seated right next to the stage and had an excellent view throughout the show. Exiting was smooth, as they guide you out stage left directly to the parking lot. The only downside is the lack of a merch table, as you're shuffled out pretty quickly to prep for the next event. Overall, this was my second visit, and despite a few minor service hiccups, it was a solid experience and I'm happy to keep supporting Mic Drop Comedy. read more

Love it here! This is a perfect comedy show venue for a more intimate vibe. Saw Jared Fried with a group of 4. I've been to many other comedy venues (comedy cellar, Hollywood improv, American comedy etc) and this one is the most seamless and comfortable. Great service and our show had no drink minimum! They seat you with your friends if you come together. We got drinks and food which well were decent for a comedy bar - Texas loaded fries were tasty. The process was seamless and well-organized. Great venue. Purchased the regular tickets. They opened the venue an hour before it started. We were one of the first to arrive, and they tried to seat us near the front. It was a long table with several seats. I asked if anyone could sit in the booth, and we were able to move. Food and Drinks we purchased and shared: Rabbit Hole: $55 (Shareable for 2-4 people) There were 3 of us and we struggled to finish it. I like sweet drinks and I liked it. It was missing the lollipop garnish. Mic Drop Bread N Spread: $50 (Serves 4) We liked it, but didn't finish. However, we didn't eat lunch and wanted something more substantial. The only fruit on the plate was a few slices of oranges. Katsu Chicken Strips w/Fries $18 Fries were seasoned well. The Katsu Chicken Strips were perfect! Crisp panko crust and juicy meat. I would have preferred katsu sauce rather than barbeque. Garlic Fried Rice: $16 I wouldn't order this again. We added the Blackened Garlic Shrimp, and it came with 4 PIECES of shrimp for $9. Triple Chocolate Oreo Brownie $16 By the time it reached us, the ice cream had melted. The brownie filled half the cup. It didn't satisfy my sweet tooth, and we decided to get sweets from somewhere else. Service: Great! The server checked on us, and other staff brought out the food and cleared our table. The first time I came in, I ended up at an open mic in the smaller room in the middle of the day which was honestly a little painful to sit through - the only other attendees were other comics and a few friends of comics; I don't recommend for the general public if you're not an aspiring comic yourself. I didn't mind paying $5 for the ticket, but the extra service fee is a real kicker and was told there was no way of getting around it by purchasing in person. I get that the booking platform charges the fee, but it is a bit pricier of a fee at $5.50 - it was more expensive than the ticket itself and doubled the cost of the open mic. I checked again for an upcoming open mic and it's only $5 including fees, so maybe that's been addressed. My second time here, I got tickets to see a comic I saw from a quick funny bit on Instagram. It was in the main room. Loved the show itself. The venue and decor is beautiful, and both times I was here, the staff were very helpful, professional, and friendly and made sure we were taken care of with food and drinks. read more

This is a great comedy venue. I've come several times, once for a New Year's Eve special, which was hilarious! They really pack it in tight, so I highly recommend coming early. They have a food and drink minimum, which is standard. Food and drinks are very, very basic, just what you would expect. Parking is very convenient, they have their own lot. Everyone working has always been really fun, really friendly. If you sign up for their emails, you'll get all kinds of free ticket offers, which I've used plenty of times, it's totally legit and you can get great seats by coming early. My hubby got tickets to check this place out, and we made it a date night! The earlier you get here, the more likely you will be sat close to the stage! There is a headliner and then some others. There is plenty of parking in the shopping complex as most of the businesses close at 5pm. We were not the first to arrive, but based on our party size of 4, was sat at the stage! The tables and chairs are a bit crammed together, and the back of the room caters to bigger parties and booths are available. They offer appetizers and meals along with beer buckets and Mixed drinks! I suggest looking at the menu ahead of time, the waitresses/waiters are attentive to you until they start getting a bucketload of people coming in. We ordered drinks but was not ready by the time she came around for our food order and then it did take a while to see her, let alone flag her down! For a weekday, this place does get packed, as I researched depending on the act, tickets are decently priced. I was at another one off Clairemont years ago and there was a 2-drink minimum, but not here!! Which is good for those DD drivers. Not that we didn't reach that anyways, with our party ordering a bucket of beer and mixed drinks! Come for some decent food, drinks and some laughs. While not everyone gets all the comedian's humor, I would say 8/10, I laughed a lot. Would definitely come back. It's better with friends, but you can definitely come solo or couples. Best comedy venue in San Diego. There is no 2 drink requirement like other places. Great comedian lineup! They're website is updated daily I believe, or at least it seems like it. Best food too!!! Any of the potato dishes are fire!!!! The birria is actually pretty damn good! For a comedy club to sell birria is crazy, but man it's good! The service has been flawless! Super friendly staff! Great bar options! Very good cocktails and legit beer choices. Parking is not an issue. They have their own area, but also there is enough in the surrounding area that makes it sufficient. It's also very well located to get an Uber. Right off the freeway, so getting here on time shouldn't be an issue. If you buy non-alcoholic drinks you'll get a VIP upgrade voucher for your next show! read more

I attended the Ms. Pat show on Saturday, and it was our first time at the venue. The staff was very nice and attentive, which we really appreciated. However, the seating was extremely crowded and uncomfortable. It was difficult to get to the bathroom without bumping into people or asking others to stand just so we could reach the main walkway where we were seated in the corner of the room, Because of this, I stayed seated for the entire show to avoid disrupting those around us. Which was a bad idea bc after the show they had a meet and greet which made it impossible to reach the bathroom.. way too may people packed in that place. For that reason, I'm giving 3 stars. read more

We watched a comedian in the main room and it was comfortable. The host sat us up front even with a general admission price. We were also very pleased that this venue does not require a food/drink minimum. We ordered nachos appetizer and added chx katsu. The serving wasn't huge, the price was high for what you get (to be expected at these type of venues though) but it was pretty good. We also ordered a chocolate martini for $18 and a Dr. Pepper for $9 which came with VIP admission for 2. The chocolate martini was not on the menu but the server checked with the bar and they were able to accommodate. It was pretty good. Overall, we were happy with the venue, the comedian line-up, the quality of the food/drinks, and ample free parking. I've been here multiple times in the past couple of years and one of the most impressive things to me has been their emcees. When I was there last week McKay hit it out of the park. They have a good bar with a solid selection of beers and hard stuff (they likely have wine too...just not my bag when I'm at a comedy club). No drink minimum, which is also appreciated. They have a good food selection as well; I don't normally order food at comedy clubs, but when I have ordered it at Mic Drop it was pretty good. They get nationally recognized talent; from my experience there will often be one of the openers who I don't find to be too funny, the rest generally range from solidly funny to ones that cause me to laugh so hard that I can't seem to stop. read more
