Came to watch amateur video and standup comedians. To our surprise had no idea that a good friend of ours was one of the standup comedians that will be entertaining!! Cheryl did an awesome show !! First time here and I was amazed in how the decor and the staff are like. Very courteous and well decorated. Yeah. We ordered some finger food. Didn't have to wait that long! I like that. I was. Starving! Lol. Their restrooms are emasculate. That's a big thumb up!!! Can't wait to come back and hear her and the others make me laugh!! read more

We had such a great time at Mic Drop Comedy! Every comedian that got on stage was genuinely funny, and we laughed the entire night. Everyone was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the food. It was just okay, and the portions are kind of small for the price. I know, I know, it's a comedy club, so I'm not expecting five star dining, but I do think the food could be a little better, especially for what you pay. Overall, it was a great experience. We had a really good time, and I would definitely do it again. I'd probably just have dinner somewhere beforehand and come for the comedy. The laughs were definitely worth it! read more

Let's start with the pricing--OMG. Way too expensive for the overall experience. The comedians were hit or miss, and unfortunately the customer service wasn't much better. It seemed like mostly younger, inexperienced staff running around. I ordered a beer and they brought it out in a can. When I asked for a glass, the employee seemed bothered by the request. I poured the beer into the glass myself and somehow the amount felt short by about three drinks. For what you're charging, that's ridiculous. The seating was probably my biggest complaint. You're packed in with other people, extremely close together, with basically no say in where you sit. It felt like being crammed in like sardines. For somewhere charging these prices, I expected a much more comfortable experience. I will give them this: the place looks cool and the colors/decor are awesome. Some of the comedians were funny and entertaining too. But between the crazy prices, uncomfortable seating, and customer service, I won't be coming back. Cool concept, but the overall experience definitely didn't match the price. read more

This is one of my favorite comedy clubs, and my favorite in San Diego. It's also the only one I've ever seen that has no two item minimum! That's definitely unusual in the world of comedy. It's located in Kearney Mesa near the 163, on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. It's not far from Convoy, so there are tons of restaurants in the area. We went to Filippi's, which is only about a block away. The club is a fun design of Alice in Wonderland. The other locations of the chain each have their own theme like Snow White, etc. It's a small room, and the sight lines are pretty good as long as you're not in a distant corner. You also sometimes can meet the comedians after the show, near the exit door. I like that I can let them know that I need ADA seating ahead of time. This means I don't have to try to stand in line for a while, which causes me issues. Employees are super helpful with access requests. We usually order drinks and maybe dessert when we order something. I love the Oreo brownie sundae, and it's great when I can share it with one of my friends. My friend ordered the adult Capri Sun this time, and seemed to like it. read more

Went to the Adult Bingo & Naughty Games Show in July 2026. The host was so funny as he along with the 3 other guest comedians kept the crowd laughing. Along with the pear cider , I ordered the katsu chicken & fries basket. It was huge (enough to split between two people) and was really good. The place was packed so the service was a little slow. I recommend getting there before the show starts so you'll have time to enjoy your food. Also be prepared to spend some bucks as drinks are a little pricey. read more

I was surprised to have as great of an experience as I had here. I saw Marlon Wayans there and his performance was real, hilarious, and practical all in one. So hats off to Mic Drop for having great talent come thru. The food was bar food, yet the portions were large and it was really good. It's asmall, intimate setting, yet still comfortable. The waiter/waitresses provide quick, friendly service throughout. Word of wisdom: do not purchase tickets from any third party sellers as Mic Drop only accepts tickets sold directly from them. If someone is offering otherwise, then you're being scammed. Overall, a super cool location for date night, fun with friends, and some belly laughs! read more

Wonderful local venue with an intimate setting getting you up close and personal to the comic. Came here to see comedian Max Amini at Mic Drop and had a great time. The staff and service was very organized and accommodating. The venue seats about 150 guests but there isn't really a bad seat in the house as the stage is small. If you do want a good seat, I recommend paying a little more for VIP seating which gets so close to the stage. Highly recommend Mic Drop Comedy for a catching a show as the venue is ideal with tons of parking and right off the freeway. read more

Blown away by the service here. Everyone working seemed genuinely happy, which honestly made the whole experience better. We first got seated by the wall, but since my wife is pregnant we asked to move and they accommodated us immediately and even sat us near our friends who were also at the show. The ambiance was great, the AC was clutch, and our waitress kept the waters filled like she was training for the hydration Olympics. Super impressed, especially for a comedy venue with no drink minimum. Ohhh We also got 2 free tickets to a future show just for ordering specialty drinks. Wifey got Mocktail, I got the lavender lemon drop. It was good! Plenty of parking too. Definitely coming back! read more

Great service and they are very responsive. Always a good time. Good food and drinks top it off.

Hands down the nicest comedy club in SD. Parking here is TOO easy and FREE unlike other places which is def a plus of this place. My friend and I were shocked by how fancy this place is on the inside, especially the Gold Room where we attended a show. The Gold Room is a more intimate experience with the comedians as it's a room that fits ~20-30 people which makes the experience more worthwhile as everyone in the audience is included in the show. Surprisingly the food here was SOOO good which we were not expecting at all. We got the chicken katsu and the chicken was SOOOO JUICYYYY and the fries it came with were well seasoned. I do wish they had different sauces for the chicken katsu that were house made but it's ok, at least the food itself was good. The virgin drinks are also really delicious here. Food can be ordered at any time throughout the show, all you have to do is click a call button on your table. Overall great experience, everyone that worked here was so nice, def would be back! read more

Overview: First time at a comedy club, won't be my last, great comics and seats ---- I saw the 9:30pm show for Ray Lau and he was great. Doors were supposed to open at 9pm so people were already lining up when I got there. I got to the venue at 9pm and was inside by 9:20pm. They say seating is first-come-first serve, but when you go inside they assign your seats for you. My seat was great really close to the stage and all the chairs point to the stage. They servers are very friendly and attentive, refilling our waters multiple times. I didn't try their food but the other people at the table ordered some and it looked great. There were a total of 3 comedians, 2 before the headliner who ended up on stage at 10:17pm and then did their set for about an hour and a bit longer. Everyone was super funny and it was an awesome experience! I'm so happy that they also don't have a 2 drink minimum requirement like some of the other comedy clubs I've heard of. ---- Overall: what a fantastic and hilarious night, very organized and won't be my last time here! read more

I haven't been to this spot in years and it has gone through a major upgrade. Love the new set up. Saw Sarper from 90 day fiancé and he was great! The other two comedians were great too, good stage presence. Food was much better than I thought it would be. Got the flatbread (ricotta one), fried chicken and sidewinder fries. Both yummy. I got the dirty soda NA and it was soooo good! My husband got an old-fashioned and I had a sip, very good! Had a cute rose shaped ice cube in it. Restrooms plentiful and clean. Had a great time!! Perfect booth in the back but great visibility and higher up. Would love to come back for another show sometime. Hope read more

I bravely went solo to Mic Drop Comedy on Clairemont Mesa Blvd for my very first time on December 7, 2025 Such a hilarious "Singles in Sweaters" event. It was an absolute blast!! Pure fun from start to finish! I even scored a brand-new gal friend in the crowd! This event was comedy show mixed with a few brave bachelors hopping on stage for a live matchmaking game. My new pal totally talked me into joining the fun for the first guy... and thanks to my cheeky answer to one of his questions, I got dubbed a "sugar mama"! LOL forever. Though next time, I'm dragging my bestie Michelle along for the chaos. ‍ I was a tad bummed by the menu. Super limited options, so I just went with classic French fries. The vibe at this comedy spot was electric & super fun! I was totally smitten with their festive Christmas tree twinkling near the front bar. **Pro Tip: If you've got leftovers, you'll need to ask for a paper bag. They're all about that eco-friendly conservation! Can't wait to head back for more laughs soon!! By then, I hope to see more food items on their menu. We love Mic Drop. We have been here twice to see pretty big names in comedy. This is that "I saw them in a crazy, tiny club" kind of venue. From check-in, to seating us, to taking our drink and food orders, to dismissing the whole audience and flipping the room for the next show, the staff operates like a well-oiled machine. Very friendly, very professional and good at what they do. I enjoyed the flatbread, like a flat pizza. Had a great mocktail with good flavor combinations. My wife enjoyed her drink. The salad wasn't my favorite. Just a but to simple for the price. Most of the items were reasonably priced and our orders came out fast. Parking is free and safe, a premium around a place like San Diego. Don't sleep on this venue. Great talent, easy to get in and out of. read more

LOVED mic drop! It's in the most random spot! (There is a PHOnomenal pho spot right there (Phở Duyên Mai) and 10/10 would recommend getting food there before the show.) Back to mic drop - we had GA tickets for Jared Freid. The first show ran long (Jared takes photos after his shows with fans - which is amazing and so generous - but it can impact timing a little bit). Parking was tough here, since the lot is small and the first show was still getting out. Might recommend taking a Lyft/Uber. The line for GA started about 30 min before the show. The bathroom is inside the club, so just be sure to tell the host if you need it before doors open. You can get drinks at the bar while you wait. Club is really cool. I wasn't sure what to expect. It's a good size, but it seems like you'd have a good view from anywhere. Bar closes when the club opens and servers were slammed, so would recommend drinks before doors open - or you'll wait. Their team was really nice, and they came around with water for people. Can't wait to come back! read more

Had a great experience at Mic Drop Comedy! Came here for a show on a Friday evening. It was very well organized and the service was great! The main room for shows is decently sized, but there isn't a bad seat in the venue. They had a relatively large food & drink menu which was awesome! We ordered their Philly Cheesesteak Fries and they were delicious! The servers came and checked in throughout the show and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking is easy which you wouldn't be able to say about most venues of this kind. Definitely worth coming to a show here! read more

Had a good experience going tonight. They will seat you & the chairs are a bit tight together. This would be a complaint. You will get a server and ours was attentive. We got the tea pot cocktail which was sweet and had vibrant flavor. I think it was worth the price. We also ordered fries which were crispy and a good portion. There are other food options on their menu but unsure how good it would be. The comedians are funny and started punctually. There was one bright light (located stage left) that was pointed at the stage at the comedian. Since I was sitting stage right, the light was annoying me during the show and made it hard to focus. I tried using the person sitting in front of me to block the light. read more

We saw Shayne Smith on Saturday, December 13, and overall had a great experience at Mic Drop Comedy. Parking was incredibly easy thanks to their location next to a business park that's usually empty by showtime. It's right off the 163 and close to both the 52 and 15, making arrival and departure stress-free. Check-in was smooth and required ID, which felt organized and secure. The inside is themed around Alice in Wonderland, and you really feel the ambiance as soon as you walk in. One standout perk was their designated driver reward: ordering non-alcoholic drinks earns you a free VIP ticket for a future show. Between two Diet Cokes and their signature mango non-alcoholic drink, we ended up with three tickets, which was a nice bonus. That said, while Diet Cokes are supposed to include free refills, getting one was more effort than it should've been. Drinks are $9, so having to repeatedly flag down the hostess, who passed our table several times, was frustrating and took away a bit from the experience. Food came out hot and quickly, and the birria tacos and fries were perfectly portioned. Tables are shared on a first-come basis, but we arrived early and had VIP, so we were seated right next to the stage and had an excellent view throughout the show. Exiting was smooth, as they guide you out stage left directly to the parking lot. The only downside is the lack of a merch table, as you're shuffled out pretty quickly to prep for the next event. Overall, this was my second visit, and despite a few minor service hiccups, it was a solid experience and I'm happy to keep supporting Mic Drop Comedy. read more

The club responded that the people in the lobby were a part of the "talent team" no they WERE NOT! Those ladies walked out WITH ME to their cars after not getting into the show from the wait list. I talked to them! So please STOP. That whole waitlist is miss-managed. They bumped my name down and put some other people above me just because and when I asked why that happened she responded "because my manager told me to" They need an electronic waitlist like restaurants because ya'll were on one for this one. It's all subjective and IF they want you in there. If my favs come to mic drop to perform I'm not coming!!! They have people packed in there like sardines, just not a vibe. read more

They have a great menu and the food looked pretty good. The service was awesome from our waitress. The ambience / music got louder and louder and louder in that small room and so people just kept yelling louder and louder. It really did get extreme. So there were quite a few comics that were pretty funny and we liked them all. Except for the introducer person, she was insulting the audience and she pretty much said that guys were like Gumby and that she wished she really didn't ever see them. This was sad and two guys left when she said this. So at that point she really did lose half the audience. Everyone was silent after that and nobody laughed at the following statements she made. She called the whole audience, Old because we kind of weren't agreeing with her very descriptive words about men and their parts. We have been too many many comedy Shows. And this was the worst. This introducer person also called the audience old after no one responded for a good while. She said one or two quite funny things. And then continued again with another Old Statement. At this point, I wished that we were just in the car going home. Never felt like this before sad face. read more

Great venue. Purchased the regular tickets. They opened the venue an hour before it started. We were one of the first to arrive, and they tried to seat us near the front. It was a long table with several seats. I asked if anyone could sit in the booth, and we were able to move. Food and Drinks we purchased and shared: Rabbit Hole: $55 (Shareable for 2-4 people) There were 3 of us and we struggled to finish it. I like sweet drinks and I liked it. It was missing the lollipop garnish. Mic Drop Bread N Spread: $50 (Serves 4) We liked it, but didn't finish. However, we didn't eat lunch and wanted something more substantial. The only fruit on the plate was a few slices of oranges. Katsu Chicken Strips w/Fries $18 Fries were seasoned well. The Katsu Chicken Strips were perfect! Crisp panko crust and juicy meat. I would have preferred katsu sauce rather than barbeque. Garlic Fried Rice: $16 I wouldn't order this again. We added the Blackened Garlic Shrimp, and it came with 4 PIECES of shrimp for $9. Triple Chocolate Oreo Brownie $16 By the time it reached us, the ice cream had melted. The brownie filled half the cup. It didn't satisfy my sweet tooth, and we decided to get sweets from somewhere else. Service: Great! The server checked on us, and other staff brought out the food and cleared our table. I had to ask for water several times. The venue is nice and clean. Parking is free. I plan to watch other shows and try different things on the menu. read more

This place was better than I expected. Don't be fooled by the plain exterior, next to a gas station. The inside is very clean with fun decor (purple chairs, happy face and book ends on the the stage... kind of an Alice in Wonderland feel.) Bathrooms were spotless with no lines. (We were there on a Wednesday, not sure what the weekend would be like). Seats about 100. Room is wide but not deep so all seats are close to the stage. We could see well. (Exception are the seats at extreme left and right of the stage, but those seats were not used at our event.). (Stage is to the right in the photo, elevated about 18".) The best part was they don't charge that annoying "two item minimum"...because they DON'T HAVE TO. If you make good food, people will eat there! And people were. It is good bar food: flatbreads, salads, fries, etc. about $18 - $25. My friend had the pepperoni flat bread with hot honey (3.5 out of 4, tasty but less 1/2 star as honey had no hot kick) and a small side of the best fries ever: little crescents of yummy, well-seasoned, crispy-outside, fluffy-inside potatos, 4/4). Was a generous portion of fries for a small. Highly recommend. I had the side-chick mediterranean salad. Side chick means a smaller portion ($10) of their regular salads ($16-18). The waitress let me add the shredded sirloin topping ($6), which was good. The salad was cool, crisp, and tasty... and enough for me. But if you are a big eater, get the full portion. Staff at the door were friendly and organized. As there are two rooms (two acts), they seat you appropriately. We came on a Wednesday night and it was a great experience. The even have a photo area where you can talk with a d take photos with the comedian. Highly Recommend. read more

My hubby got tickets to check this place out, and we made it a date night! The earlier you get here, the more likely you will be sat close to the stage! There is a headliner and then some others. There is plenty of parking in the shopping complex as most of the businesses close at 5pm. We were not the first to arrive, but based on our party size of 4, was sat at the stage! The tables and chairs are a bit crammed together, and the back of the room caters to bigger parties and booths are available. They offer appetizers and meals along with beer buckets and Mixed drinks! I suggest looking at the menu ahead of time, the waitresses/waiters are attentive to you until they start getting a bucketload of people coming in. We ordered drinks but was not ready by the time she came around for our food order and then it did take a while to see her, let alone flag her down! For a weekday, this place does get packed, as I researched depending on the act, tickets are decently priced. I was at another one off Clairemont years ago and there was a 2-drink minimum, but not here!! Which is good for those DD drivers. Not that we didn't reach that anyways, with our party ordering a bucket of beer and mixed drinks! Come for some decent food, drinks and some laughs. While not everyone gets all the comedian's humor, I would say 8/10, I laughed a lot. Would definitely come back. It's better with friends, but you can definitely come solo or couples. The comedians do interact with the audience, so be warned if you are in the front. read more

The first time I came in, I ended up at an open mic in the smaller room in the middle of the day which was honestly a little painful to sit through - the only other attendees were other comics and a few friends of comics; I don't recommend for the general public if you're not an aspiring comic yourself. I didn't mind paying $5 for the ticket, but the extra service fee is a real kicker and was told there was no way of getting around it by purchasing in person. I get that the booking platform charges the fee, but it is a bit pricier of a fee at $5.50 - it was more expensive than the ticket itself and doubled the cost of the open mic. I checked again for an upcoming open mic and it's only $5 including fees, so maybe that's been addressed. My second time here, I got tickets to see a comic I saw from a quick funny bit on Instagram. It was in the main room. Loved the show itself. The venue and decor is beautiful, and both times I was here, the staff were very helpful, professional, and friendly and made sure we were taken care of with food and drinks. read more
