Bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary's are served with brunch & they are refilled frequently. Jordan never let a drink get a glass go empty. Our host for this show Paris continuously kept the crowd entertained with lots of laughter! I have gone to many drag show experiences, but this was probably in the top 5 for me & I would gladly attend another one on a visit back to Sd. A few negatives are although every seat is good- the table we were at sometimes caused the show lights to hit me directly in the eye so I had to divert my attention to performances. Our meal (we both ordered carne asada breakfast) was not really seasoned. I just would try something else next time I go. Celebrated a friend's bday here on a Wednesday night. We concerned about the parking, so we uber here and only to find out that they have a pretty large parking lot. The doors opened right at 7pm, and the place decorated like a moulin rouge style scene with colorful chandeliers, spotlights and Leon light creating a very vibrant atmosphere. There were three performers and they were impressively multi talented. Before the show started, they also serving us, taking orders and bringing out foods. The foods turned out better than expected, especially we were not originally going for the dining. After dinner, they even helped to clean the table before transitioning fully into their performances. They dressed up as various artists, and lip sync to songs by icons like, Amy Winehouse, Tina Turner... The night felt a bit chaotic, but in a fun way and everything came together nicely at the end. Just a heads up, they bought out a little bday muffin we didn't order, and it wasn't complementary. The dishes were cold and my chicken fried steak was incredibly salty tha I just couldn't finish it. My cousin got the chicken and waffles and it was cold and the waffles were hard as rocks. Again, the food wasn't the most important, but not being edible was a little disappointing. The drinks included were okay and a bit watered down, but I do recommend buying some extra shots to get you going. My friends and I ( group is 12) came in this past weekend. It was the first time for everyone. Giving this establishment 3 stars because the food was gross!!!! Salad tasted sour, no one at my table ate it .. chicken strips has no flavor, cheeseballs were rancid tasting and chunky, etc... but I don't think they have a 5 star chef In the kitchen- I think they are just doing what they can! This year I finally got to experience my first Lips show and dinner plus brunch for my birthday. Both times were entertaining and they really do take care of you. The queens are fabulous and so talented. I wish I had their wide range of skills but thoroughly enjoyed the show! Especially when my friends got taken up on stage to strip and collect some tips hehe. I would also like to point out the food is delicious! By far one of the coolest things that we did in San Diego on a recent bachelorette trip! Literally probably the peak of the celebration. I went to Lips in San Diego on a Sunday. The food itself was good--I ordered the steak and eggs and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the service really fell short. After our food was dropped off, no one asked if we needed anything else. My friend wanted Tabasco and I wanted steak sauce, but the server put the plates down and walked away. Trying to get assistance after that was nearly impossible since the staff stayed busy. I ended up using ketchup, and my friend had to ask the table next to us for their Tabasco. They were great about keeping the mimosas coming, but not so great about refilling water, which was what I was drinking. For a place that's supposed to feel fun and inclusive, I honestly felt a bit out of place. They advertise unlimited drinks, but I don't drink alcohol. I still enjoy going out without drinking, but this just wasn't really my vibe. My friend does drink and mentioned the mimosas were pretty watered down anyway. The performers themselves were talented--great singing, dancing, and stage presence. However, there were moments where things felt a little unpolished. At one point a performer was late to come out during a song, and everyone was looking around confused. I also noticed what appeared to be a brief spat between two performers, which took away from the experience. I probably wouldn't have written this review if it weren't for the way the bill was handled at the end. When it was time to pay, an automatic tip was added to my card without any explanation. I had cash ready specifically to tip, but I wasn't given a receipt or a pen to write in a tip amount myself. There was also nothing communicated beforehand about an automatic gratuity, so it was very confusing and frustrating. It felt like the server tipped herself. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It came across as a place that really wants you drinking so you'll spend more, and if you don't sign for a tip, one might just be added for you. The whole thing felt very scammy, which is disappointing because this place may have been great back in the day--but it just wasn't for me. read more

The food was included with the price too, if you wanted steak and eggs it was a $3 up charge. I read some of the other reviews and they said the queens were obscene and crude and aggressive but honestly I didn't feel that, but that's what I expect from a drag queen. We had an amazing time. We had the best time ever for my daughter's 21st birthday. The servers were so kind and attentive along with hilarious. All the performers went above and beyond to give such an amazing experience for everyone. Food was always so good and the portions were perfect. I ordered the mushroom ravioli that came with the pesto sauce and it had about 7-8 big pieces of the most yummy mushroom stuffing. The drinks are good too! We didn't drink or anything so our most expensive drink was $5.00 for a virgin Shirley temple. We got sat right next to the stage and got to experience everything super close. We celebrated my friend's milestone bday here and it was fabulous. Loved the beautiful Drag Queens esp the Emcee, Paris and Jordan who kept the bottomless mimosas flowing. It's $45 per person for bottomless mimosas and a choice of entree plus the drag show. I had the chicken and waffle which was basically fried chicken breast pieces which was on the dryer side. (Not the best Chicken and waffles I've had.) My friend shared some of her steak and eggs with me was much better. One thing that you never expect at large venue that is serving this many people is unbelievable and spectacular food. I ordered the 12oz Top Sirlion,(med/rare). Garlic mashed potatoes, green beans. The steak was PERFECT! I have never felt like tipping the Chef but I did. We had plenty time to eat and enjoy our dinner before the show. My sides hurt from laughing so hard. The manager, Brett the Bartender and our hostess Miss Bullet were so gracious and right there when something was needed. I can not give a high enough recommendation for Lips. read more

It's fun. It's hysterical. It's flippin expensive. Food is serviceable. It's good but there are issues. When it's served it's just kinda thrown at you. They are jammin hard and trying to get it done but do not expect 4-star food service. The show is amazing and the atmos is right on. My pasta came with bread so hard and cold it could not be eaten. The shrimp tacos were actually good but came with one tortilla. Stupid. The staff is super nice and they know how to work the room but it's all in good fun. 280 dollars for five people with very few drinks + the the dollar bills for the performers so over $300. We came as a party of 7 to celebrate my little cousin's 19th birthday--her first time out dressed as her true self, embracing her identity as a young woman--and Lips made it unforgettable. One of our guests was 13, and while all ages are welcome, the manager kindly reminded us that minors must attend with their legal guardian. From the start, the wonderful manager went above and beyond to make the night special. As we reviewed the menu, the performers came out for introductions and photos, setting the tone for the show. The dinner is set at $50 per person for the 5:15 show and includes all the bells and whistles--such great value! The manager personally surprised our table with two sampler appetizer plates (chicken strips, salad, cheese balls, coconut shrimp, and tomato bread), which was such a thoughtful touch. The highlight of the evening was how the celebrating groups were recognized: each person was invited on stage one by one for individual photos. For the birthday girl, they presented a delicious yellow confetti cake, which truly made her feel like the star of the night. I regret not getting the manager's name because he was absolutely the star of our evening--his energy, kindness, and attention to detail created a safe, joyful, and memorable experience for my newly transitioned cousin. Our server, Vavavoom, was also incredibly patient and attentive throughout the night. There's plenty of parking in their little corner of El Cajon Blvd. You have to call to make rez & it's highly recommended so they have an accurate head count. It's about ~$43 a person, which comes with an entree from a pre-fixed menu & UNLIMITED mimosas, bloody marys & champagne. That price point is so great! As mentioned, the food was really good too. Had the chicken & waffles and them waffles were elite! Came with about 4-5 generous pieces of breaded chicken tenders. They do start you off with some homemade muffins and everyone at the table loved those. There are other drinks that you can purchase besides the ones that come with the packages. The cocktails were all like ~$14 each. The place is actually pretty small, but they arrange the tables well so you don't recognize how packed it gets. Have your dollar bills ready cause the performers will be coming around to collect! They did such an awesome job I was happy, willing and ready to spend a lil sum sum. Don't worry, if you didn't come with ones, they have a money changer going around. The only thing I'd change is how long they keep the food on the table. I get it, they want everyone's undivided attention for the show, but I wanted to snack whilst getting entertained and drinking... Maybe provide chips, popcorn or something while the show's on? WHAT A GOOD TIME! Went here with a group of my gals for our best friend's 33rd birthday, and what an absolute FUN time for all of us on a Wednesday night! The host was amazing, our servers were amazing, the entire show was... AMAZING. And these queens came to serve - literally and figuratively. I love that our host went over the rules and what to expect out of our experience because it made it that much more comfortable and enjoyable. It also happen to be Disney themed this night, and a Bingo night since it was Wednesday. I do believe that Lips does reservation only and I recommend that right off the bat, because it seems to always be a full house. We just so happened to get the VIP booth which was a great surprise in and of itself. We also brought in a birthday cake for our gal, which the manager graciously took from my hands and brought it out later in the night with candles, ready for her to blow out! They go above and beyond here, I tell ya! Even for the food - usually, I would think (and understand) that the food would be subpar as so much work goes into everything else. But my friends and myself really enjoyed what we had! We all had house salads, which were actually so good and fresh, especially for a salad. I personally had the eggplant parmesan, and the plate was so delicious and piping hot, I actually couldn't finish my plate. I was stuffed by the end of it. It did take quite a bit of time for us to get our food... (I honestly think it was possibly forgotten and then remembered, only because other tables were already starting to receive their desserts by the time we got our entrees) - but it didn't take too much away from the experience as a whole. We also really liked the assorted desserts as far as having a red velvet cake, cheesecake, and some kind of key lime cheesecake. Now for the drinks - they are STRONG. So, I personally opted for getting shots all night as I knew I had to account for work early the next morning. I really loved the white gummy bear shot, and I had a bit of my friend's jolly rancher shot which was yummy and strong as well. The show itself, is most definitely not PG13 - so if you're second guessing coming to this place based on that alone, try a different one.
