Fun and festive event, with good vibes, food and live music. So glad BF and I got the VIP passes, as 2 beer tickets + access to clean VIP bathrooms was worth the cost. The beer variety was good, apple strudel was scrumptious and giant pretzel hit the spot. Fun watching the people and dachshunds in costume, and exploring some of the stores in downtown La Mesa. On the way out, bought a unique retro boombox bedazzled purse from one of the vendor booths and still have nostalgic oom pah tunes floating through my mind.

It was a pretty fun experience and the food was pretty good as well. It felt like what a night market should be

La Mesa Oktoberfest didn't honor their agreement with Yelp. I was supposed to get a hat and stein with my VIP ticket, I didn't get either as I supposedly got the wrong type of badge sent to me? I don't believe it... it's kind of sad that they couldn't just honor my Yelp confirmation and QR badge verifying my hat and stein. The beer is FANTASTIC, the Spaten Oktoberfest was my favorite brew. Overall, the ambiance was good, however I didn't like the VIP staff.

Such a fun and eventful time! Easy to get to. Lots to do and live music! All types of beer and Bavarian Style clothing are available for purchase. I enjoyed my time here and was helped by Skylar. She was friendly and provided excellent service. The venue itself was safe and had tons of space. VIP is the only way to go. Access to front of the line, even for the restrooms. I'll be back again next year. Thanks Yelp for the invite.

Always an amazing time at La Mesa Oktoberfest! As a local I've been going my entire life and it never disappoints. The games, the food, the booths, the live music...it has it all!

Everything is so clean but it has a very good rustic and real feel to it. The drinks here are my favorite because to be honest, I'm a sours beer kind of guy and they have a whole building dedicated to it. The amount of variety when it comes to sours is great a prices are fair. Flavors pop but theirs also a good enough selection if you want a more chill sour that won't punch you in the face. The other building (not sure which is considered the main ones) has a large selection of your typical IPAs, lagers, you name it. The flavors are good and they seems to have some deals going on from time to time for cans to take home which I can appreciate. They also have a few board games to keep you entertained and seem to consistently have some options fora food vendor as well as many times having live music. Definitely worth the visit on a day you see them having one of these vendors or live bands you may be interested in. The people here seem to be very friendly with their regulars and greet you as if you're a friend. I think this bodes well with breweries considering you're usually here to have a good time and chill. I wouldn't say it feels like the reason I'd come back at all but no complaints here. Just didn't feel like out of this world service by any means.

The brewery itself had a typical brewery ambience of being in a industrial Park which we loved with lots of open space. Inside and out on the patio. They have a very nice and large bar top. The place is quite large with an open and airy feel. Definitely cool brewery vibes. The bathroom was really impressive; huge and spotlessly clean. They have a great selection of beers on tap from light to IPA. Stouts, darks - a beer for everybody. Beer only right now. I enjoyed a very tasty Mexican Lager (La Bamba). Becky begrudgingly enjoyed one as well. She no longer drinks beer. She lost nearly 50 pounds by switching to low carb, low calorie seltzers a few years ago. That was our only disappointment, no seltzers. Not even in cans in the cooler. If we ever return, she'll have to bring her own. Sunny Grove does not have a kitchen, but they do host a different food truck or pop-up nearly every day. Check the calendar on their website for details. sunnygrovebeer.com Definitely a cool spot, just wish they'd add a seltzer even if it is canned.

They have classic arcade games here like Frogger Pong, Super Mario and pinball. There are a few newer games like a version of beer pong, Halo, Mario Kart and 4-person Pacman. We played every game within an hour and felt a bit bored after that. I'd love to see a Dance Dance Revolution game here! The plethora of beers, hard seltzers and ciders on tap looked like an expansive collection. There was something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate espresso martini on tap. I didn't drink but those in my party enjoyed every sip and got a good buzz goin. I love that you can pay for your drink by the ounce and you don't really have to commit to a whole drink if you don't want to. Perfect to taste test everything if that's what you desire. I'll be back in the area when I'm feelin in a fun and drinky mood.

It was a little smaller than I expected, but it's still easy to spend an hour or two here with friends. They also serve food, which I'll have to come back and try another time. Instead of ordering drinks at the bar, you start a tab by leaving your credit card with the cashier. They give you a tap card that lets you pour your own drinks. You can sample just a little or fill up a whole glass. It's completely up to you. They have everything from beer and wine to a few craft cocktails on tap. If you want to try something different, you can swap out your glass and keep exploring. The same tap card also activates all of the arcade games, which I thought was a really cool touch. It makes everything feel connected instead of having to carry around a bunch of tokens or cash. When I visited, they were hosting trivia night. It definitely brought in a crowd. Most of the tables were full, so walking around got a little tight because the space isn't very big. Even so, the atmosphere was lively. It felt like everyone was having a good time. I ended up trying the Cranberry Mule, which I really enjoyed. It was nice being able to pour just the amount I wanted instead of committing to a full drink. Overall, I had a really fun time here. It's a unique spot that gives you something a little different from your typical bar. Once you're ready to leave, you just close out your tab and head home. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends.

@YelpSanDiego @lamesaOktoberfest…read more We really enjoyed attending the Oktoberfest in La Mesa . Thanks so much Hanna from Yelp for allowing my boyfriend & I to experience our first time attending OktoberFest La Mesa. Both of us really enjoyed this event! We kept ourselves entertained with the live bands, drank Spaten Premium Lager and ate some bacon wrapped bratwurst to partake in the Oktoberfest festivities!! This La Mesa event was much better than last year'ss Oktoberfest El Cajon we've attended. MUCH THANKS to Hannah from Yelp for allowing us to experience this fun annual event!!

While the beer gardens require admission, the majority of the festival is free and open to the public. We attended the wiener dog races for the first time this year and they were hysterical! There were 4 to 6 dogs per heat and then they had a final round. Please note, these were not professional racing dogs, just San Diego's finest dachshund dog volunteers from families around town. One family member would release the dog at the starting line and the rest of the family would be at the finish line cheering them on. Some dogs ran straight across to their families really fast, others took their time, barked at each other, and sometimes ran back to the starting line! It was so cute! There was also a planking contest by the wiener dog races, and people have to hold plank with wiener dog stuffed animal on their back. No surprise, some of the beefiest guys dropped first, and for the session I watched a wiry young woman took the gold at holding plank nearly 12 minutes! The music on the main stage was great, we especially enjoyed the traditional German music and Jimmy's Buffet. There's so many creative booths with craft items, and all different types of food to satisfy every craving. The volunteers and security team were all excellent and I sincerely appreciated their efforts. We didn't go on the Ferris wheel, but love that they have some ride options as well. Can't wait till next year's Oktoberfest!
