First time here this past Saturday, and everything was fantastic. The venue had great ambiance, and strong crowd (full house). The meal was very good, and the Fleetwood Mac performance was amazing. I was very impressed with how all guests were treated (like family) , and the overall quality of the food, and the talent was exceptional. I have been the twice once for Sunday afternoon show and then for a Friday night. Both events were very entertaining and enjoyable. The service was great and the meals very satisfying. They also have beverages, wine , beer and sodas. The seating is comfortable and the gave a wonderful lighting, both before the show and during the performance. I was able to spend several hours in a place of business, learning just how special it is that Santee has an exclusive performing arts venue: Off Broadway Live. My work hosts several lunchtime workshops there throughout the year, but otherwise, it was embarrassing to admit to owner, Steve Rolf, that I had yet to join him for an evening show he puts on (and saying it's just "a show" is an understatement). I traded out my husband for a date night with my mom to see OBL's "Chicago II" Encore Supper Club performance. For what may seem a bit mysterious to a passerby, walking into OBL on a Saturday night was perfection from start to finish. Greeted by Steve's wife Jennifer at the door, we were escorted to our seats to start what turned into a memorable evening. The inviting venue, the incredible food and the TALENT in the show made for a beautiful experience, all less than a mile and a half away from my home. I left thinking, "I found out how wonderful these shows are right in time for Valentine's Day, because this place is the premier date destination in town, and it's been right under my nose for years!" Thank you Steve and Jennifer, I felt like I walked into your home when I walked into your business, and that is something I hope every owner in Santee strives towards achieving. This was always a wonderful place to see live theatre so I looked forward with a friend to the Xmas Dessert Show. It was advertised as a 2 hr show. After we got there Steve spent l.15hrs promoting himself and the forthcoming 2022 shows TWICE. We were served a dessert. Nothing spectacular just ordinary cake. During a visit to the restroom several people were complaining about having to endure 1.15 hrs of Steve talking about promotions!!! We paid almost $60.00 each to see the show and barely got 1 hour of theatre. Pretty expensive in my opinion especially as the chairs are not that comfortable. I expressed how I felt to Steve and instead of saying he was sorry, he suggested the venue wasnt right for me. I have been going there consistently for 6 years - first time I felt it necessary to voice a negative opinion - not about the show - but about the promotion. Well I guess that's one place I wont be frequently anymore and neither will my companion AND I SUSPECT A LOT OF OTHER FOLK!!! read more

I have taken my wife and friends here a couple of times. The most recent excursion was for the Motown tribute. Each time we have been very entertained by the shows. The venue is small but that adds to the ambiance. Each time there has been food served (buffet style) and it has been delicious. The only gripe as nothing is perfect, is that the tables are just a bit too small when you have four people trying to eat. Pro's: Always entertaining, food delicious, small venue makes you feel a part of the show, excellent rapport with the audience. I've been to several of their productions and have loved every one. Just saw Chicken Fried Christmas last Saturday with several friends and we all had a great time. They had turkey dinner with all the trimmings and it was really delicious. Intimate, friendly environment and a fun time out. We attended the show "On the road to Woodstock" , Fantastic cast, they are the real thing , great voices, you are in for a pleasant surprise, How much fun and right here in our backyard. An incredible experience, every time! Who would expect a live dinner (usually) theater with this level of talent, in a strip mall in Santee?! But it has been there for at least 6 years -- with a long term lease. Steve, the owner, host and star, and the rest of the entertainers, awesome! The meals, served buffet style, are always tasty, with a lovely dessert at intermission. Overall, the entire experience is always delightful and memorable. HIGHLY recommended! read more

We have been to several shows now; a couple of them more than once. The 70's was a total blast. The 50's, same. Heavenly Grind; sweet great story and awesome music. What a great venue. Some shows had food, some dessert and it was always comfortable accommodations with friendly people. The shows take you on an adventure and I find that I get lost in the story, and the music, hating to see the show I am attending come to an end. At the dinner shows the food is fantastic and I even got seconds at one of the shows we attended. I think I got lucky that night. Family owned and operated; great owners.... and spouses ....come out to meet and greet pre and post shows. The Rat Pack era show; Encore Supper Club takes you back through some memorable tunes and times and this mixed group of guys and gals can sing and act. What a venue for Santee. Went to the Vinyl years last night. A very nice intimate venue. Thou the evening started badly with sound problems. I had high hopes for this show as my mother has been to several performances there. Let me state that this show was no better than Bad Karioke. The performers had a very difficult time staying on musical key. The female performer was especially off. I don't know if they had a hard time hearing the music or just did not listen to each other as they performed some of the harmony. I would have left before the first intermission if my mother had not been with me. read more

We saw One Hit Wonder. Felt duped. The owners are two of the three performers. They are not quite good enough to be on stage. It's like they figured that the only way that they can perform is if they purchased their own place. They are trying to fulfill their singing aspirations at the time and dollar expense of their customers. They should hire actual talent. There was band equipment set up, but that was taken away and a pre-recorded musical track was used (kind of deceitful). It was like karaoke. Very disappointing. We won't be back. read more

Went to see a total of 3 shows. The first one we loved. The second Decades of the 60's had to be changed because one of the singers broke her arm and they brought in a band which was extremely loud and a new female singer. Music was changed wasn't even the 60's. We left at intermission. This last show we saw was Christmas show on December 20 which included dinner. Not a $20 per person meal. Was a turkey dinner which was good but not that good for the price. And the tables were so small that with 4 people all our plates touched and no room for drinks. I had to put mine on my lap which made eating a real joy. Don't care for the new female singer. Needless to say we will not be back. Had I not purchase both show at the same time I would not have attended the Christmas Show. The other two at our table also agreed with us. They were not impressed. read more

We attend their Decades show last night. We had low expectations. After all, it is in Santee in a made over Blockbuster Video store. We were blow away at how GREAT the show was. Very intimate setting, great sound and lighting. It was two hours filled with great music and lots of laughing. The owners perform and are funny, self deprecating and highly talented. Four of us attended Saturday night's Valentine Weekend Dessert Show of the production "Love, Me." This was our second time here as we had already seen Chicken Fried Gospel, which we loved. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the show, dessert, and the warm, friendly interaction with the actors and staff. Being so close in East County and not having to worry about finding a parking spot are big pluses, too. Looking forward to Decades-the 50's next month. read more

Lots of fun! I have attended several shows here-Decades-70s, Chicken Fried Christmas, Chicken Fried Gospel, The Dance and Love, Me. I always try to bring a new friend to spread the word. I am happy there is something to do here in Santee and I love supporting small business. The shows are always funny and entertaining with plenty of interaction with the audience.
