I love that this place does individual hot pot pots. I love sharing but sometimes it's nice not to lose your noodles amongst the endless other food being put in the communal hot pot pot. Great fruit and sauce bar, love the robot serving you the portions. Everything was delicious and thought out. Really enjoyed coming here with friends. Got their signature broth and it was indeed very spicy but delicious (the fruit comes in handy here to cut the spiciness), I will get a different type next time.

It's a good time and the best part might be making your own sauce. Takes a few tries to nail it, but it's fun to get whacky and experimental.

We went there on Valentine's day around 16h PM to avoid the expected crowd that evening. It was quite early, but I think it was a good choice! The service was extremely attentive in the first hour of their opening. As the restaurant became more and more busy, the workers understandably had more on their hands. The place is quite spatious, with clean tables and lots of light. It was fairly well aerated, although I suspect it can get hot when it is crowded. The self-serve station was well stocked, with plenty of choices, including most essentials. It is actually the best stocked self-serve station I have seen so far in Montreal (although there was no soy sauce). There was plenty of soup bases. We tried two, the seafood laksa and the mushroom soups. Both were tasty, and not too salty. Ordering of the food stuff was communicated directly to a waiter, who then brought all the dishes with the help of the super duper cute BellaBot, whose cat-like features and little quirps became the center of attention wherever it went. The meat was fairly thin and tender. Food was fresh and tasty, and the quality was good. I particularly like the pork blood and beef aorta (althought the portions was very small). Because it was Valentine's Day, we received a free brown sugar and jelly dessert. They also kindly gave a portion of lamb and coriander meatballs as promotion! Overall, a very satisfying experience. I would definitely set Liuyishou as my go-to hotpot place downtown, and aim to avoid the most busy times. Note: Don't know what to sauce to settle for? Try this Sichuanese classic: plenty of sesame oil, generous dollops of garlic, a bit of salt, a bit of sugar, a bit of oyster sauce, plenty of coriander and a bit of green onions. Mix and enjoy as dip!

I used to love coming here but last Saturday on the 1st of July, I came with a friend to have her try this place I've been raving about for a while and throughout the whole day, this was basically the only meal I had which I can only think is where my issue stemmed from. We both ate the same exact food apart from the broth and I woke up in the middle of the night nauseous and on the edge of being sick for a solid 2 hours. My friend was okay. I'll give it to them, service is quick and efficient and taste wise, it does meet the expectations. But I'm a little iffy on the freshness/cross contamination situation. It does suck because I've never had this problem before with this location but I don't think I'd go back because of that.

We were craving hot pot on a rainey day after a full day at La Ronde. Chinatown seemed a bit ways away since we were already in downtown. We stumbled on this gem. It looks like theyre failry new. It is AYCE lunch and dinner. There were lots of options including single pots and shared large pots. The service was wonderful. Of course there was a make your own sauce bar with some snack while you wait as well. Meat quality was *chefs kiss*

This is an all-you-can-eat hotpot restaurant with quality food and serving robots. You can choose individual hotpot or shared hotpot but it depends on the table. We wanted to have a shared hotpot but there are only 2 individual hotpot tables left. We came at 5pm on a Thursday so you can see how popular the restaurant is. We called for a reservation but the front desk said they don't take reservations for two persons. You need to have 4 people at least to reserve a table. The food was good overall including even the snacks. The soup base is also delicious and watch out the spiciness level of their beef soup. There are also all kinds of dipping sauces you can choose to make your own. The price is about 55$ per person if you don't order any item or drinks on the extra menu.

Currently the best hotpot place I've been to in Montreal: clean place, good service, tasty broth (and not too salty), and high quality food.

The Long Version: I love mochi. Like it's one of my favourite desserts. So when I saw that Fondue Haidilao had an UberEats deal for BOGO (buy one get one free) mochi, I had to check it out. Especially since our hotel was just around the corner. My husband does not enjoy hotpot and I'm uncertain how I feel about takeout hotpot anyway, so I just got the mochi, lol. It was $3.95 for 2 orders (since it was BOGO). Each order contains 3 pieces, so I got 6 pieces. They are small but still very reasonable for the price, especially BOGO. I ordered on the app and picked up. Pick-up was quick and smooth. Staff were courteous. The mochi were soft and chewy. They had finely grated coconut on the outside and custard on the inside. The custard was unfortunately not creamy but rather it had a more starchy consistency, a bit different from what I was expecting, but it was still ok. Note that since Haidilao is a Chinese chain, the mochi is Chinese-style not Japanese-style. I would love to try the hotpot at Haidilao one day. Maybe when my mom and I return for another mother-daughter trip to Montreal since the hubster does not like hotpot. Street parking only. Review #69 (2025)

Their menu is so diverse, the portions big, everything is flavourful and filling, they pay attention to all the details. From the moment you step in to the end of your meal, it's an experience. They give you an apron so you don't stain your clothes, they provide plenty of napkins and utensils, they pass by multiple times to clear your table and dirty dishes, they give you a hair tie so your hair doesn't get in your food. It's a fun time! There's music, or a noodle pull guy, or sometimes a dancer! They've really got it all. Make sure to réservé because this place is in high demand and it is impossible to get a table last minute if you are a big group. I got the sukiyaki soup base which is soy and onions. It was really good! Bot spicy at all and paired well with the lamb, beef, and pork we ordered. Also got some corn and it was so juicy and sweet! You can still order noodles and not pay the extra for the employee to pull them in front of you, they are still fresh and taste delicious. I don't find it too expensive considering I ate almost as if it was an all you can eat and the price was the same but you're getting better service and quality of food.

Hotpot Nine (Lao Jiu Men in Chinese) is replacing a Chinese restaurant that was previously there…read more This place is still in its soft opening, and so was offering 15% off. They are still figuring a few things out. For instance the vestiaire is not available for customers just yet (only staff), but it might be in the future (which would be amazing to avoid coats smelling like hot pot for the next 3 days). The place it not that big, but they managed to arrange quite a few tables in there. And it's already popular! It was pretty much full on both nights I was there. There are large and small pots. Large pots are shared between diners of a given table, as it is usually the case in China. Small pots (individual pots) give more freedom as to which base soup you want, although large pots allow a maximum of 3 different soups! The induction cookers were powerful, and the simple electronic pads at each table enabled to easily control boiling. There's quite a few base soups available. So far I tried the "traditional spicy soupe", "health mushroom soupe", "original bone soupe" and "nourishing health chicken soupe" (the English names might be a bit puzzling, but they were all tasty). The heat level of the spicy soup was also quite satisfying for us Sichuanese. It is all you can eat, at about 25$ per person. The base soup costs extra, and so do drinks and some select items (e.g. duck blood, beef tongue, etc.). The choice of food items if not the most diverse, but covers most essentials. The main attraction remains meat, in this case AA+ beef and lamb. The mashed shrimp (pureed shrimp that boils into a shimp meatball) was also very popular. Soups and food came fairly fast, and was very nicely displayed. Some items were forgotten on both of my visits, but it didn't affect the overall experience. There's two self-serve stations, one for ready to eats (spring rolls, fried fish (?), oranges, fried buns, etc.) and one for sauces. The sauce station had everything I needed, but was quite messy and in need of replenishing. I also wished the oil would be sesame oil instead of vegetable (?) oil. Ladles and strainers can be found on the shelf under the sauce station. Overall, the taste was excellent, and there was a lot of efforts and good attitude from the staff. The place was still a bit messy and chaotic, and the air was a bit stuffy, given all the steam that is produced. But then again, it's arguably part of an old school hot pot experience!

The servers were very friendly and attentive, and the food was super fresh and great fun to eat, since you cook it yourself by dipping it in a bowl of simmering broth heated over an individual induction burner. Our meal consisted of plates of thinly sliced meats--beef, pork, and lamb, along with an array of vegetables and noodles, dipping sauces and condiments, all washed down with cold Japanese beer. The prix fixe meal included a dessert of macha ice cream and mochi with honey sauce, a great way to end the meal.

We arrived early, but without a reservation. The staff was able to fit us in but you should definitely have a reservation if you plan to eat dinner here as they fill up quickly. I had the spicy hot pot with beef, and it was everything I remembered. My wife was less impressed with her more "plain" broth, but I could see where some people would prefer it. We were in and out in about an hour, which is lightning fast for a hot pot restaurant. You're most likely looking to spend at least $50 CAD per person with food and a drink, but it is well worth it in my opinion. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

There are SO many things that don't even have a common term in English, which is impressive! Unfortunately, they don't pay enough attention to washing their veggies, and we got some veggies covered with little bug eggs. Their handmade fish pastes and balls were delicious though. The menu is separated into categories, where some items are limited to one order per person. They also have a membership option for different periods of time. It's kind of extra to be honest, you'll need to go there quite a bit to get your moneys worth. With the membership, you get some exclusive items like chicken wings? it's quite bizarre. Anyways, this hotpot is quite promising but it was about $40 per person. Too expensive even if you've got a huge appetite.
