Although it seems like a lot of money, I understand the reasons behind collecting a deposit (customers unexpectedly cancelling appointments, technician time to travel and diagnose issues, etc.). I paid the deposit and we confirmed the next available appointment was 3/20/25. On 3/14/25 I got an email (no phone call) telling me "Due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be able to complete your spa service on 3/20/25. Instead, we will be there 3/25/25". I was so frustrated and disappointed they had picked a new date without discussing it with me and that it was 5 days later. I discussed the issue with the service department, they apologized and said that was the earliest date. There was nothing more they could do. On 3/25/25, the day of my appointment, I get a voice message that said they needed to cancel the appointment and reschedule for 3/26/25. Because I have a fenced in yard with dogs I took the day off of work to be here. I'm beyond frustrated with NE Spas. Conveniently they took my money in less than 24hours but they have no problem rescheduling my appointments for 16 days. By the way their policy is no monetary refunds just store credit. So that's not even an option. I feel trapped because they have my money and left me no other option but to accept their dates.

My mom called to have our pool closed and the said they'd be here by 9am and NEVER SHOWED. They came back another day and didn't even close the pool because we were "missing a part" which after 8 years we've never heard. They schedule to come back at 7am another day and NEVER SHOW AGAIN! They wasted 3 days and didn't return our calls until 3 messages later! AWFUL customer service, they were very rude and condescending about THEIR inconsistencies, and only made excuses! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! There are so many nearby to this one it is definitely not worth the money!!!!

Until.....my excavation estimate rose from a quote of $80/hr to $101/hr), poor workmanship on a concrete slab and the installation of the pool overflow, a heater that broke 2 weeks after the pool opened AND a truckload too much of back-fill. I have worked in customer service for close to twenty years. I was amazed at the lack of customer service that this company provided. I was more of a nuisance than a paying customer. I dealt with both the Owner and his sales manager. I was able to have them come get the truckload of fill that had to be gathered up by my husband a a few good neighbors. When I asked if we would be reimbursed, I was told that the fact they were taking it was reimbursement enough. That was $200+ of my money..not to mention the fact that my husband ruptured 2 disks in his back trying to get all this crushed stone and stone dust out of our backyard. I had to contact the manufacturer to have the heater replaced. It could not be done until spring. It took 2 appointments (no call no show) and several phone calls to schedule the installation of the pool cover. I had another company close the pool because Surfside failed to coordinate the pool closing when we arranged the pool cover install. They gave me a third date and once we had our pool closed by another company, I called to cancel. Funniest thing was that they never had me scheduled to close the pool. Three weeks later, they arrived at our house to close the pool and collect final payment. Day late and a dollar short my friends. In the end, the pool is done and it does look nice. I withheld $340. to compensate for the overcharges in the excavation and for the extra back-fill that was unnecessary. I had to contact the manufacturer to have the heater replaced. They sent Surfside replace it. During this, it was discovered that Surfside broke a threaded connection into a chlorinator and instead of replacing it, used silicone to glue it together. We brought this to their attention. I was told I could purchase a replacement part at a discount but they would not replace it for free since I still had a balance with them of $340.00. After paying over $20,000, you think they would list it as a courtesy discount, Really, give me the 1.5% discount, I think we earned it. I have heard since this experience that dealing with pool companies can be shady. I would think in this day and age that people can run reputable business. My advice: DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Its not worth the headaches not to.

If the person we interacted with tonight is the owner of this location, I can confidently say…read moreSundance Spas in Amherst, NH won't be in business in a few more years. The level of un-professionalism my wife, myself, and daughter experienced tonight was shocking--so much so that I'm still in disbelief. How this individual manages to sell any hot tubs is beyond me. We visited Sundance Spas for the first time today, on January 16th at 5:30 PM. We wanted to see the Sundance Cameo in person after weeks of serious research. We're ready to purchase a luxury hot tub, and we very easily may have purchased this one tonight if the experience was 100% different. When we arrived, the store was completely empty despite the lights being on and the door open (they close at 6 PM). After walking around awkwardly for over five minutes, someone finally emerged from the back. He didn't introduce himself at all. He just gave us a "hey" and walked over. He was tall, older, with spiked gray hair and an arrogant, annoyed demeanor. I've done my research, so I knew most of the details about the Cameo already. However, I had a few specific questions about the spacing, depth, and warranty that I wanted clarified. Unfortunately, this man clearly wasn't in the mood to provide answers or even basic customer service. When my daughter sat in the tub and couldn't reach the headrest, (which he looked annoyed she was even doing so and made sure to tell her to take her shoes off), I jokingly mentioned we might need a hot tub booster seat for her. His response was a sarcastic "I guess ...." I then asked about the warranty of the steel frames and he said, "10 years." My wife followed up, asking if he knew why it was only 10 years, and he snidely replied, "What, you need more?" He then added, "How do I know? You'd have to call corporate, I don't make them". The way this came out too was so rude sounding. That surprised us...my wife and I looked at each other like "what was that" lol From there I said something along the lines of: "I'm getting some bad vibes here, so I think we're going to leave now. We came in ready to possibly buy this Cameo, just had a few questions, but apparently you're not interested in selling it. So, we started to walk out and I said "Have a good night"....He quickly replied..."Sensitive, huh?" LOL I laughed in disbelief and was about to turn around to respond but my wife stopped me. I have to say...I'm SO glad we visited this store, because it saved us from a long-term headache dealing with this dealer. We were literally prepared to spend the $18,500 cash tonight on this. But what this guy for some crazy reason doesn't understand is that for a family making an investment like this, they don't just look at the product, they look at the experience, as once you buy the tub, you will be tied to that that dealer. The relationship matters more than the hot tub, since they perform the service for next 10x or more years. Here's my FREE advice to the Owner/Management of Sundance Spas in Amherst NH. If this gentleman is a salesman...fire him...he is going to sink your business. If this gentleman is the owner...get into a non-cusomer service business, because you are not cut out for this. If you are the owner and do want some real advice, here it is: Start by developing a customer-first culture. Greet your customers with a smile. Introduce yourself. Shake their hands. Ask how you can help them and provide thoughtful answers to their questions. This is basic customer experience. When you show genuine care for your customers, your business will thrive naturally. People will be so impressed with your service that they'll leave glowing reviews without being asked. In the hot tub industry, it's not just about the product--it's about building relationships that span generations. To potential customers: do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. Imagine having to deal with someone like this regarding a warranty?....lol no thanks.
