We used Mountainscapes for a complicated project to the front of our house which included retaining walls on each side of our driveway, reconfiguring the path/stairway to our front doors, an irrigation system & lighting. We replaced rail ties and wooden stairs with granite, paving stones and brick. This was a significant investment for us and it was clear after meeting with several contractors that Mountainscapes was the only choice. Their knowledge and quality of work is incredible. They are professional and extremely hard workers. The owner, Chris, is very engaging and communicated extensively with us throughout our project. Our project was completed on schedule and on budget. I purchased an old home with a pool. It is my first experience owning a pool and it hadn't been opened in 2 years. Chris and Trace came to investigate. They had their work cut out for them. In very short order, and with professional expertise, I now have a beautiful pool that my family and I are swimming in daily. Next week they are resurrecting 2 old fountains on the property. We were very pleased with the quality and details of Chris and the MountainScapes crew. His pricing is very very reasonable. Our yard lacked the look that every homeowner wanted. There was no growing grass, exposed roots from old cut trees and a sloping backyard that our daughter couldn't play in. Chris and I had a discussion of what we wanted and he made our dream come true within a short period of time. Now we have a lush green lawn, a leveled backyard, and even an area for our garden. I was very impressed with Mountainscapes--they delivered very high-quality work at a great price, from honest and friendly people. Chris took a lot of time to come over to look at my house to discuss the options within my budget, and offered some great suggestions that I hadn't even thought of (and which I'm glad we incorporated), and the work came out fantastic. They were also very flexible with my limited schedule, which I very much appreciated after having difficult experiences in the past with other landscapers who I often find lacking in professionalism and courtesy. It seems like a lot of landscapers only care about getting in and making as much money as they can, but these guys are patient, considerate, and even followed up a few weeks after the job to make sure I was still satisfied. Last summer we were looking to build a patio in our small yard. Chris and his team were extremely helpful in the process from start to finish. From recommending various patio layouts to helping us select the best materials to quickly installing our patio. He provided upfront pricing, multiple budget options, and stuck to the budget throughout the entire process. Mountainscapes transformed our yard in a matter of days. During the installation, Chris made recommendations to ensure that the patio, driveway and our back porch seamlessly flowed - he was adaptable to our requests as well (such as running electrical conduit, and adjusting our irrigation system to account for the patio. The quality of insulation was top notch, we were amazed at how deep he dug down to ensure there was plenty of gravel drainage to ensure that the patio would last. The team was extremely professional and reliable, and we would highly recommend them for anyone looking to have a patio installed. Since adding the patio, we have not only had more space to entertain and relax in our yard, but it has made the overall yard an all-around more functional space. read more

Christopher Underwood is a swimming pool and landscape professional with over 12yrs of landscape experience and a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Working with construction teams and homeowners, Chris has helped built everything from custom swimming pools, pool decks, and driveways, to stone fire pits, chimney's, fireplaces, and stone houses. Groundwork's crew were awesome from the initial quote process to final completion. Christian was great in the sales process and Mikah Ramos and Mickey Snip were excellent in the solution. They removed all the old insulation along with the rodent waste, cleaned out our crawlspace and sealed it all up to prevent rodents from coming in. Worksite was left cleaner than when they arrived and they were super efficient. Price wasn't the cheapest but it was fair value (they do have a good and easy 0% interest financing option) and they were able to schedule the work much sooner than other places. Would thoroughly recommend Groundwork's.

For the work, they showed up on time with a good team, and worked like machines getting the trees down. There were zero problems with the work - it was safe, they got some trees down in very tight spots, and were honestly kind of fun to watch. I wanted to keep some of the hardwood tree trunks to build things out of / burn in my fireplace, and they neatly stacked them out of the way to boot. They even handled a bunch of random extra requests I threw at them - mulching some big old bushes the previous owner had ripped out and tossed in the woods, knocking down a bunch of small trees in the way, AND putting up with poison ivy everywhere. And the clincher...they cleaned up their mess way more than we thought. My fiance was happy, which means I was happy. All in all, after talking to as many tree service companies as I could find, I feel like you'd be wasting your time looking somewhere else.
