I live local and have always had average experience with this restaurant. But a recent dine-in experience was outrageously horrible. It took them 40+ minutes to bring out 2 bowls of noodles. There were 3 other tables at that time so it was not busy at all. All 3 tables came after us and got their food first. My daughter who was looking forward to the ramen was in tears in the end, thought she did something wrong. When I confronted the waitress she tried to blame it on me and my wife. Yet she had no problem bringing the other customers drinks after drinks 30 seconds after they asked for them. Our orders would've added up to around $100 for lunch on Tuesday. I honestly cannot figure out why they would treat people like that. Maybe they have good location and would never run out of businesses from the local people. Never had such bad experience with other local restaurants. read more

I ordered Shoyo Ramen to go the other day. The description called for Edmame, scallion, nori as ingredients as well as Cha Shu Pork. For $16.50 a bowl, I got 2 super thin sliced pork with minimal flavor, peas in stead of edmame, no sesame, nori, nor scallion. It wasn't even enough to feed a child. What a scam. I am not going to be a customer any more for sure! read more

We live locally and come often. Tables are usually easy to come by despite the amazing food and great service. Everything we have ever gotten has been amazing. I love the Drunken Noodle and my wife usually gets the a mango Curry. Not much else to say except that you should go! read more

The food itself is fine. Not amazing but not decent. My major complaint is how disorganized the place is. We've gotten takeout several times, and EVERY SINGLE TIME the food is not ready for 15 - 20 minutes (at least) after they say it will be. It's also a small place and very few people at the "front of the house," so tonight we had eight people waiting for takeout, and only about six tables of people. read more

First time at Little spoon kitchen. Food, service, and ambience were great. However, I'm not accustomed to being asked to leave 15 minutes before posted closing time, I'm assuming because we were the last ones in the restaurant. We got our food at about 7:30 pm. Nice feel and friendly staff. Coconut shrimp were raw inside. Won ton noodle soup kind of bland, and the steamed butterflies had an unpleasant texture (also bland). Grilled salmon and rice was good. Alas, there are plenty of other Thais' to try nearby who do better. read more

When they first opened, I didn't like their food much. It was just ok. I happen to crave ramen, but didn't want to trek to Newton Centre so I stopped with a friend. Their ramen is surprisingly good. Pretty much the worst food I've ever had, I ordered takeout, service was good, food was horrible!!!! Seafood was all Asian processed with chemicals, I couldn't eat any of it, sautéed spicy beef was really boiled beef and veggies, just nasty! A waste of 60$ nice people, horrible food! I'm just not into frozen chemical process mussels , scallops , shrimp and squid. Just nasty and insulting, what a joke, bad joke. read more

Nope. Got takeout. The curry and stir fry were bland and underseasoned and the chicken was so dry and hard to chew, we threw half of it out. AND they forgot to put one of my entrees in the bag. They wouldn't deliver it to me, so I had to drive another round trip to pick it up. They could have reversed the charge on the forgotten entree, but instead they gave me a container of spring rolls, even though I had asked for gluten free for my order. The menu is either deceiving or I was overcharged. Curry with crispy duck is $15 plus some change on the menu for lunch, but the bill charges additional $5 for duck. So they sell a bowl of vegetables in curry for $15. Food is okay but way overpriced. Will not go back read more

FINALLY, good Thai food in Needham! The spring rolls were fresh albeit a little light on the avocado. Though a little dry, the chicken Krapao was basil-ey and fresh. The pad Thai was flavorful with crunchy fresh vegetables. The Drunken noodles were robust and spicy. The Satay did not even need the delicious peanut sauce, well marinated and moist. Added bonus that the skewers had chunks of chicken rather than one long piece, which allowed for easy eating. Luckily I mistakenly ordered an extra Drunken noodles, because we cleaned our plates. The food was so tasty! Especially the appetizers. We ordered the fried pork dumplings, crispy spring rolls, and the steamed butterflies (peanut chicken). All were incredible especially the steamed butterflies. For entrees we got the spicy Pad Thai and the cashew chicken. Both were top notch. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Super excited to have another Thai restaurant in town!! Staffs were friendly and the interior looked elevated!! I ordered three dishes (Thai fried rice, beef pad see ew and drunken noodle) and I liked the portion and how fresh the ingredients were. The only flaw was that the drunken noodle felt a little too bland to me, making the sweetness overpower the entire dish. Delightful addition to the Needham food scene. I had the steamed butterflies, which were small tasty dumplings with sweet chicken filling (no butterflies were harmed). Also ordered the yellow chicken curry, which was pretty standard for curry. My only complaint was that it was tough to relax with the loud and shrill phone blaring continuously. I mentioned it to the waitress, who maintained she needed it for takeout orders and never turned down the ringer. I would go back again, but not until I'm sure the phone situation is handled. read more

Ordered a massaman and green curry dish. Vegetables were fresh and well cooked. The meat was scant in both dishes, almost to the point of being a vegetarian dish. Ordered dishes as medium spice, but they were both bland with little flavor. Chicken satay as an appetizer was good. read more

I love the food at Little Spoon. However, I had a terrible service experience. I was seated at a quiet table, and then a large party came into the restaurant and was seated near my table. It was very loud and my dining partner and I couldn't hear each other. The restaurant was almost empty so we requested another table. Unfortunately we were told that even though the restaurant was empty we couldn't change our table because 1. there were only two of us and the other tables were 4 tops, and 2. even though there was one other party of two seated at a table for 4 they needed to save the empty tables in case someone else came. In other words, the anticipated customers could sit where there was no noise but we had to stay where we were. We left and ate somewhere else. Ironically when we walked by, there were not only 2 people at a table set for 4 but the restaurant had several empty tables. I guess none of the anticipated customers came. I have visited Little Spoon twice now for takeout. As much as I wanted to love the Little Spoon I have to say that my experience has been underwhelming. The food is good but not great. I love that they use fresh ingredients and seem to prepare all the food themselves, at least what I ordered, but I don't think they have figured out how to time meals so everything comes out together. During my most recent experience I used their online ordering option through "toast tab". The estimate was for 35-45 minutes. Unfortunately the food was not ready for over an hour and a half, at least all of it. When the food did come out the only item that was warm was the Spicy Pad Thai, which was lovely with perfectly prepared shrimp. The rest of our dishes were cold and virtually inedible. In the end I don't know where the fault lies and I am not sure it really matters. I just can't get my head around how Pad Thai could have been the limiting factor. read more
